My husband is from Israel and I'm Dutch (due to the legal regulation in our countries) in Netherlands is requested that the Surrogate appears in the Birth Certificate however for Israel we need that only the IPs appears in it.

Our question is:

Is it possible to get two different birth certificates

BC 1: with the genetic IP and the surrogate

BC 2: with the two IPs

Thanks

What an interesting question. If the baby is born in Ontario I would imagine that you would do whatever the place of birth requires. Also, if you travel or immigrate to another country how would they know that the baby was born via surrogate? That being said, it is definitely a good question for a lawyer as you don't want to mess around with these things! The lawyer who volunteers on this site (Sherry Levitan) does not visit often so you may want to reach out to her through her office, or someone locally to your area. I did have a consult with her over the phone several years ago and at that time she was very helpful.

Best of luck finding the answers that you need.

We are a same sex couple so it's quite easy to discover that the baby is born through a surrogacy process (also it would be possible an adoption process :))

My apologies for making assumptions. That does make sense. I definitely suggest reaching out the Sherry Levitan or another fertility lawyer directly. I think all lawyers will give a quick phone consult for free to help you understand your rights and legal requirements. Also you can call the law society of upper canada and pose your question there and they will match you up with a lawyer that is knowledgeable in this area to do a free 30 minute phone consult.

Wishing you lots of luck as you sort through all of these different government systems!
