I am a little late to joining this forum but had a hard time talking about my infertility for a long time. Here's my abbreviated history. I'm 34 and started trying for a baby at 30. Got pregnant right away, miscarried 6 weeks later. Tried again, got pregnant in second cycle, baby was fine until at 12 weeks we learned his brain was not developing properly. After a half a year got pregnant again and miscarried at 6 weeks, then again at 9 weeks. Every time there was a heartbeat and then a few days later it would stop growing. My clinic Fertility One didn't have any answers and did all the standard work ups and tests. My family doctor and another OBGYN could not help. I was in the unexplained infertility category.
After 3 years of losses, depression and no answers my naturopath recommended Dr. Virro at Markham Fertility Centre. I started there in November 2015 had a small septum removed, one egg retrieval plus PGS and received 8 perfect 5 day blasts! Then the immune testing revealed low leukocyte antibodies and high cytokines. I started LIT in the fall of 2016, failed the test and did another round with a donor. At the same time I did 3 rounds of intralipids for my high cytokines, but it did nothing. I then did 2 Humira shots which brought them down from 50 to 41, but still not close to the 30. So now I'm told I have to do 2 more shots of Humira.
That's where stand and I hope of course this is the tail end of my journey to a baby, but as you all know, nothing is ever guaranteed. Thanks for sharing your stories, it has really helped! I love hearing success stories especially
