Question (tmi): I feel some days there is something blocked in my vaginal cavity like the feeling when u are about to discharge clots during a heavy period. I am thinkibg it might be crinone residue. Does anyone feel that? Do u know if we r supposed to do anything about crinone residue if it is?

Gardenia - I use Crinone and definitely get that feeling. My RE recommended doing a quick "sweep" with my finger every few days to check for and clear out the residue. I have found that my body tends to tell me when it needs to be done. (Total TMI here) When I have a BM, it tends to dislodge some of it - so I know then it is lower and easier to remove. The last few days have been really disgusting.

Yeah. Last pregnancy I used crinone and I'd sweep every other day to clean out the gunk. It's kind of gross. I find the prometrium gross with the liquids discharge. It prefer it over the crinone.

See about me page.

I did crinone on my first fresh transfer that resulted in BFN. I found it gross and also I forgot to take it a couple of times. After that, I switched to the shots, which I prefer. Sore butt, but no mess. Also, I can't forget my shots because it is up to both me and DH to remember - two minds are better than one.

Thanks all for ur replies. I had no clue! I am the worst when it comes to inserting anything to clear up. Even finger. I will give it a thought and research a bit and see. If I knew I would have started with shots.

Gardenia, I hear you! My clinic didn't offer the shots at all - just three different kinds of "inserts". I chose Crinone because they said it was once a day, and I thought - cost is worth it! Then they told me when I picked it up about the residue and bleh. But I am super excited because I am on my last box! My RE said when this one is done - just before then 10th week starts - I am free and clear!

I don't know if your doctor mentioned it to you, but mine says that you shouldn't lay down or anything after taking Crinone. They want us taking it in the morning, because they feel that moving around afterwards helps with the absorption. (Nothing crazy - but I try to take mine right before I make breakfast or something - or on weekdays, right before I head out to start the workday.)

Hello,

I got the call today with my first positive beta result, I am due on October 28! I am really scared to jinx anything, I had a misscarriage at 8 weeks last June. I keep worrying about symptoms coming and going and not feeling nauseous yet. I remind myself that my mother never had morning sickness with me and I turned out well! My boobs hurt a lot early on but I think it was my body adjusting to progesterone suppositories after the IVF knocked it all down. I ended up converting to IUI after two weeks of Stims because only one follicle matured. Atleast - so far - things worked out anyway. The first time I never thought I'd misscarry then I did. This time it's all I can think about. Probably won't have much reassurance until I reach the 8 week mark. I am happy not to hear from the clinic as much for the time being, enjoying the fact that I technically don't NEED them right now.., best of luck to all the October ladies! So happy dreams are finally coming true for us !

yaenaSK - my clinic told me to take it twice daily! Same with estrace. Hmm. No they never mentioned anything about residue or standing up after taking it. I read that online just in the oast 2 days. Kind of late. Good note as u mentioned I am too to stop soon. By end of 10th week.

ETA - welcome and congrats! Wish u the best on your next beta. I, too, keep thinking of my first miscarriage around this time along and worry. We should try to relax...
I added u to the list. U can update your info on the list next time u have a change by copying, editing and pasting list in new post.

Gardenia - I had to take it twice a day at first. They had said twice daily from retrieval till pregnancy was confirmed. Then, at my first beta, they kept me on two until the second beta. Once a day feels like a holiday now :)

TMI - I have a bit of diahrea this morning. I'm already neaseaus... I almost thre up while sitting on the toilet. Feeling really gross. Which is good I hope. But still hate this feeling. Taking my oldest (19) out for a birthday brunch. No idea how I'll hide the nausea from her! I told her I have an inner ear infection that's throwing off my balance and makin me nauseas. Here's hoping she buys it.

See about me page.

I think it's all a matter of doctor preference (I've heard it is pretty cautionary really). One girl told me her doctor stops the progesterone completely at a positive beta!

Ugh - the nausea is back with a vengeance here. Diclectin worked for just a couple of days - and made me so tired I could only take it at night. I am trying adding in a little B6 in the morning, to see if that helps at all. Job interview at 9am tomorrow so I am feeling a little desperate! The nausea is usually at its peak around 8:30 - 9:30 so this could be bad.

Quadry - this happens with me. Usually throwing up action or feeling trigers diarhea too. Gross I hear ya! I love the inner ear infection idea will keep up my sleeve for when I need to justify nausea to outside my 5 peple circle. Hehe

yaenaSK - let us know how the B6 works. I am trying to cut down on diclectin as well. For ur interview I think u will be ok. Sometimes the power of the mind works better than medicine. We went to a birthday party to my toddler's friend and I was sick before and after but somehow pulled it together during. Good luck.

Quandry - yuck to the D. (But at the same time I am a little jealous because trips to the bathroom are few and far between for me.)

Thanks Gardenia - I am hoping that is how it goes! The B6 gave me some relief this morning at first, but just a few hours later and I was dry heaving again. I have been useless all weekend, between exhaustion and nausea. I have to take a nap after I shower and dry my hair, I am so tired! I am looking forward to the second tri so, so much right now.

Honestly distraction is amazing for nausea. I find it's very good usually. Not always but usually.

For me the big D is a standard pregnancy symptom. Not sure why when most women are opposite. I usually go in the morning before I'm too sick. But of course not today. (I tend to get sicker as the day goes on). Diclectin is my savior. Truly.

How do you deal with the fatigue from diclectin? Do you eventually adjust to it? (I took two at night my first time, and fell asleep at my desk the next morning! But I am usually super sensitive to anti-histamines that cause drowsiness, too.) I have been going with just the one at night hoping to adjust, but I still am super tired until around noon, when I become normal first tri tired.

I really hope you're right about the distraction helping! I need to get this job - my current position is cutting me to half time starting in May, and this one would come with at least the same salary, maybe a little more - and the employer bumps mat leave pay up to 100% for the first 15 weeks. So many possible benefits. I feel awful for applying and not telling them I am pregnant - but you gotta do what you gotta do to ensure the bean is cared for right? This is just so out of character for me, I get antsy about it.

Sorry to hear so many of you aren't feeling so great. But then we would prob worry if we were feeling normal so it's a double edged sword!
AFM: 3rd and final beta today was 685!!! This is a 36 hour doubling time! The clinic left me a voicemail requesting that I call to schedule an ultrasound next week. They were closed when I called back after work, so I'll have to sneak away from my coworkers and call them tomorrow to set it up. DH is so cute, I told him that the minimum requirement was 48hours doubling and that ours was 37 hours and 36 hours. This didn't mean anything to him so I tried a different approach. I explained that with Saturday's result being 269, we were looking for anything over 538 and we got 685! First he confirmed that this was a good thing and then his next question was "does this mean we're going to have a fat baby?!" I laughed so hard that I nearly peed myself!!!

Well ladies - interview is over! Up to a week of waiting now. It was a bit hilarious - first finding clothes to wear (I am not fully showing, but definitely have a little extra "fluff" that is just a little low on my belly to be too much breakfast). So it was control top underwear and control top tights, and a blazer.

Then, I find out the position is itself actually covering another woman's mat leave! I had to try hard not to snicker a little. Thankfully, no nausea during the interview - it actually hit a little earlier than usual today, so I had "successfully" vomited before I left the house. (I find once I actually throw up, it eases for the rest of the day.) And being amped up with nerves overcame a lot of the diclectin exhaustion. My only moment of "oh crap" was when the gas hit - being in an interview, with a panel of important people in front of me - and needing to belch. I just crossed my fingers nothing would slide out.

The joys of being pregnant! Gosh, I love being able to say that. :)

yaenaSK - This is so funny! So you might go on mat leave during the mat leave of that lady. How does that work!? I wish u the best anyways. By the way, I also feel great the rest of the day after throwing up. Even at night, if I wake to do it I sleep well after.

ETA - congrats! Best of luck on the u/s.

AFM - exhausted, achy, diarrh, naps or lie down. I am not getting half my work or study done. All I do is try to survive the nausea, eat and drink. Not much drinking though. Liquids don't set well with me. I work from home most the time and now I wish I go to office to force myself more to accomplish.

So, I have a bit of drama going on over here. My first beta on Tues (at 14dpo) was 112, then on Thurs (at 16dpo) the second beta was 172: not doubling. I got my result for the second beta yesterday (at work) so of course I freak out and go through various stages of grief, finishing with grudging acceptance that this pg may not work out. So then, today I went for my third beta, (at 21dpo) which turned out to be 995. So, the hcg appears to be doubling now (approx every 48 hrs). I have an u/s to check placement tomorrow... I have no idea what to think. Bah!!!

I thought I would be super-chill this time...apparently not! Emotions are running wild. By the way, in my extensive Google-fuelled panic, I discovered a neat hcg calculator. If you google "hcg calculator" you'll find it. There are charts! :-) (nerd alert!)

ETA: congrats!!
Yaena: glad the interview went well and that the diclectin helped you get through it without throwing up! Hope you get the job!
Gardenia: that sucks that you're not able to be productive at work today. But I'm sure there were times when you were overly productive so let's hope it all balances out in the end!! After all you have a great "excuse" to be tired!
Jane: I'm glad you're getting a 48 hour increase now! I'm a fellow nerd too!! I use betabaseinfo for my calculations!! Good luck with ultrasound tomorrow!
AFM: scheduled ultrasound for March 4th, I'll be 6+1 weeks and they said not to expect the heartbeat because it's early. Does anyone know about TSH levels? Mine is usually around 1 and now it's 2.49, I'm starting synthroid today as per REs email instructions but I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone at the clinic about it because they were closed by the time I got off work. Dr.Google says the level should be under 2.5, so I'm praying they caught it in time and that it won't cause any problems

DH: 39 - MF, low motility, low count

Me: 40 - lining issues, hx of polyps and fibroids

TTC since 2008.

Started IVF journey in 2012, 3 fresh cycles and 3 FET attempts with first RE resulted in 3 BFNs and 3 cancelled transfers. No BFPs, no chemicals, never even seen a double line on HPT. cry.gif

Changed REs in 2015.  Repeated all tests and decided to bank embryos for PGS testing due to history of BFNs.  After 3 cycles and PGS testing - finally achieved 2 PGS normal embryos. banana.gifbanana.gif RE suggested ERA testing to determine implantation window. Mock cycle in May 2016 and July 2016, receptive results showing that 7 days of progesterone support required.

FET attempt #1 with new RE - Sept 2016: cancelled due to pharmacy med mixup th_agrr.gif

FET attempt #2 with new RE - Nov 2016: cancelled again - lining not trilaminar eusa_wall.gif

FET #3 with new RE - Feb 2017 eusa_pray.gif - suppression check and removed nuvaring on Jan 12th.  To start delestrogen injections Jan 16th. Final lining check on Feb 1st - got the green light to transfer finally!!yahoo.gif Feb 7th transferred one 5bb euploid embryo, beta scheduled for Feb 21st. eusa_pray.gif Symptoms: strong sense of smell, very tired, tugging/pulling/small cramps, sore breasts, and heartburn. Caved and POAS at 4.5dpt and saw 2 lines for the very first time in my life, POAS every day until second line was darker than control! th_acheerlead.gif. Asked clinic to move up beta.  First beta 9dp5dt=110; Second beta 11dp5dt=269; Third beta 13dp5dt=685. Ultrasound scheduled for March 3rd eusa_pray.gifeusa_pray.gifeusa_pray.gif

Thyroid isn't a. If problem right away. It's after 8-10 weeks when it becomes very important. You have time so no worries. It should be between .1 and 2.5. You're close so it shouldn't be a problem.

My fave beta calculator is on the babymed website. It calculates and graphs which I love.

See about me page.
