I have told my family and my boss...it felt great to have happy news to share after almost 4 years of heartbreak.
Congrats to you, let's be hopeful! I guess if the worst scenario happens, our families will know our pain.
It is a very individual decision.

yaenaSK - congratulations! this is great news. I wonder why is he seeing you again? Is this the norm in your fert clinic? I just want to know what to expect myself.
wannabemummy - I cannot tell you how many times this happened to me this time and in previous times. Symptoms could disappear suddenly for a day. Some women don't get them at all. Besides, what you mentioned are still symptoms.
algae - I have that some days too, but more like bad mood swings and angry at everyone. Yesterday was a big change, I was in the best mood since this cycle started. Strange. I never tried acupuncture.
AFM - I am still taking diclectin. 2 at night then I sleep. They help me all through next day so I can eat and drink. But, during the night I suffer headaches and restless sleep. Last night I woke at 2.30 AM and threw up. Not sure how to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of diclectin. I almost would throw up if I do or do not take it but maybe I feel better for longer hours in the day if I take it. Who is taking it? And how do you feel?
We are planning on telling parents, babysitter, and 2 close work colleagues tomorrow before I start throwing up in front of them. No one else.

Thanks Gardenia! Not sure if this is standard at my clinic or not - I get the impression it might be. She said that if we chose to do the Harmony test, it's actually her/the clinic that arranges it. She is letting my OBGYN, and my family doctor, both know now that I am pregnant, though, in preparation.
(Every time I type or say that I do a little happy dance in my chair.)
Also so good to hear the good and bad about diclection. I just got a prescription today because my nausea is becoming horrible. She prescribed it for two at night, then one each at breakfast and lunch (but said I definitely don't have to take it that much since it is sedating). I was planning to start with just at night and see how it works for me.

Congrats YaenaSK that's great news, so happy for you!
Thanks GardeniaD for the re-assuring words, I will have to learn to deal with the ups and downs or the next 7.5 months is going to be very stressful! BTW my EDD will be Oct 10th, and will be same week as my mom's and my two nieces birthdays!
Algae, I also did accupunture weekly up to transfer including pre/post transfer but have not had a session since ET. My naturopath has not made any recommendations. I think I'm going to mull over it a bit after the u/s and maybe ask for her recommendation.
BFP beta #1 (14dp5dt) beta #2 (16dp5dt)
U/S #1 7w1d measured 5w6d hb 96 bpm
U/S #2 8w3d measured 6w2d hb absent

Really you are telling people already?
I haven't even told my mom yet!
I am thinking of telling my boss is late March, friends, facebook and work colleagues in late May. I am a private person, but i just don't want to tell people until i feel that it is going to stick.
When are others telling folks?

idream - As I mentioned in my post yesterday, the only reason I am telling is that I am very symptomatic. I throw up a lot at any time of day "suddenly". My last pregnancy was like all basket next to me wherever I go. And I needed to lie down most of the time. The five people we are telling are mom, dad, babysitter, 2 work colleagues only because I see them for long hours most days of week. I think these five already know something is going on. The way I suddenly cannot stand to go near coffee or I will throw up is the exact same as last pregnancy. No Facebook; no other people than these. We are very private. I should have explained more in my post.

We've been pretty open in telling people - but then, we were also very open in sharing that we were going through IVF too. We told our parents and siblings right after we got our beta results (we both come from very close families). I've shared with a couple of friends - my best friend, and then a couple of others who went through IF as well (so I know they are extremely sensitive to the risks we still face). DH shared with one coworker, because the two of them basically negotiate shifts and time off between themselves (so this gives DH a much easier time getting time off for appointments - otherwise he basically works a 60-70 hour week, ugh). I told my two coworkers as well, when it became obvious I'd be heaving in front of them, and needing time off.
We haven't, and won't tell extended family or FB until sometime in April. When we saw the RE today, she said our M/C risk is down to 5% - but that is still 5%.

I think I am a bit paranoid about telling people. I have only told 3 people, a few medical professionals and then posted on a few of the infertility sites I am part of. I am not even ready to order some pregnancy books from Amazon for fear of getting ads from them. I just don't want to tell people and then something happen.
I am a private person and have found it hard recently because my journey this far, got really stressful in the fall and I had to tell a few people because I needed the stress relief. (and more Kleenex!) I have found that hard and I know that a few people are giving me the side eye going "is she preggers?" One woman keeps asking me how are things going, not getting the hint that when I say fine and then ask her about her weekend plans that "I DON"T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!"
Luckily my nausea has been minor and mostly in the afternoons so I have escaped detection on that front. But my boobs are now YUUUUGE (heading out for a DD bra this weekend) and if anyone is watching......
Being Single and older (42 soon) is only adding to my fears. I know this is going to be a source of gossip in the office and on Social Media. Honestly Can I just tell people like never? HAHAHAHA.
cheers

I have told a few people, some I am okay with some I'm not. We have told my parents, two girls I work with, and his parents ( not the best support, so they aren't allowed to talk to me about it ). I was half kidding when I told one of my cousins I would call her after I've had the baby and that is how she would find out my transfer worked. I love my family and they are so supportive, but we went through this pretty much exactly the same time last year. So we are in protective mode right now. Everyone is guessing it worked, but they won't outright ask me.
I am feeling so unbelievably nervous about my ultrasound on the 1st. How do you ladies cope with all of this? Last year I was in a better place, I was fairly naive and thought nothing bad will happen. My husband will have his eyes glued to the screen at our ultrasound, they sometimes try to tell us he can't go into early ultrasounds but we don't listen ( small towns ). We can be stubborn

Here is a fun (almost science fiction for us here) Facebook thingy. One of my contacts (not close friend) just made her profile picture her POS positive stick! And look at us contemplating who of our closest people to tell for support. Sigh ughh and lol
Relax and do what makes you feel comfortable at night.
OneBigSigh - thanks for posting the updated list. It is easier when each of us updates their info and posts the list again than if one person does it for all others.
Btw, my u/s is booked for March 1 as well. So nervous. My symptoms are up and down.

OneBigSigh- I had to laugh at your comment about telling your cousin after the baby is born. I have one cousin in particular who is so. freaking. nosy. Everyday - "How are you today?" "What's new?" We aren't particularly close - it got worse when, while I was struggling with IF and IVF, she got pregnant (after "struggling" for about four months, FFS). Then she proceeded to whine and complain to me about how hard it was to be pregnant, how lucky I was not to be feeling x or y, how tired she was being pregnant with another child at home. I wanted to scream "KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE". I was not her audience. She asked tons of questions during IVF and kept comparing it to pregnancy which was even more annoying. Finally, I posted on FB (and had to say it directly to her) to after retrieval, we wouldn't be doing any updates or sharing anything more, because DH and I had to finish the process ourselves and cope with all of the emotions and possible outcomes. Apparently this cousin didn't like it - she whined to her mom, who made a snarky comment to MY mom - who then put both of them in their place and basically told them to STFU. Ha. It makes me not want to tell extended family until "Surprise! Here's a baby!"
I mean, seriously. This isn't their information. This isn't their life. No one has a "right" to know any of the details except DH and I.
Sorry, I get soapbox-y about it. Which is funny considering we have told some people but again - they never demanded to know or even asked. They are the people we want support from, only. I was thinking we'd go public in early April but now I am not entirely sure. I love our little circle of "in the know" and feel so loved and supported by them. I am flying home to see the bigger fam in May, so I will probably have to tell by then. I'm also thinking of being like some celebs, and never actually acknowledging it. Oh, am I obviously pregnant? There ya go.

So, some excitement happened last night. I started bleeding so went to the ER. No cramping, no symptoms. I went tot he bathroom and that's when I saw it. To me it was a lot of blood as I soaked my panty liner, but apparently a lot of blood is going through a pad in under 2 hours. Turns out I'm okay. The fetus is fine. AND I got to see its tiny heartbeat a week before my scheduled u/s!! I burst into tears right there on the table it was so stressful and I was so terrified that it wouldn't be there! But it was. I had to hold my breath to see the little heartbeat vibrations.
The fact that I get another u/s next week will help keep me calm. I'm 6 weeks and 2 days now. My next u/s is in exactly a week.
Algae - I did acupuncture for one of my previous IVF cycles. Before this cycle it was the farthest I had been. I loved it! Very relaxing and very helpful. But I bit too pricey for me.

We did that. Most of our families did not know we were pregnant till after the baby was born. Immediate family knew, but cousins and aunts and uncles. Nope. We kept it very very quiet. And we will again this time if we make it that far again. Honestly, dhs family is so incredibly UNsupportive, I wouldn't even tell his parents or his brother or sil till after the baby was born. I'm honestly considering not saying anything to my family till I have to see them this summer either. We've not had much support from friends or family these last few years and honestly, I feel like not telling anyone anything at all. But I'm obviously crusty. Ha.

DH: 39 - MF, low motility, low count
Me: 40 - lining issues, hx of polyps and fibroids
TTC since 2008.
Started IVF journey in 2012, 3 fresh cycles and 3 FET attempts with first RE resulted in 3 BFNs and 3 cancelled transfers. No BFPs, no chemicals, never even seen a double line on HPT.
Changed REs in 2015. Repeated all tests and decided to bank embryos for PGS testing due to history of BFNs. After 3 cycles and PGS testing - finally achieved 2 PGS normal embryos. RE suggested ERA testing to determine implantation window. Mock cycle in May 2016 and July 2016, receptive results showing that 7 days of progesterone support required.
FET attempt #1 with new RE - Sept 2016: cancelled due to pharmacy med mixup
FET attempt #2 with new RE - Nov 2016: cancelled again - lining not trilaminar
FET #3 with new RE - Feb 2017 - suppression check and removed nuvaring on Jan 12th. To start delestrogen injections Jan 16th. Final lining check on Feb 1st - got the green light to transfer finally!!
Feb 7th transferred one 5bb euploid embryo, beta scheduled for Feb 21st.
Symptoms: strong sense of smell, very tired, tugging/pulling/small cramps, sore breasts, and heartburn. Caved and POAS at 4.5dpt and saw 2 lines for the very first time in my life, POAS every day until second line was darker than control!
. Asked clinic to move up beta. First beta 9dp5dt=110; Second beta 11dp5dt=269; Third beta 13dp5dt=685. Ultrasound scheduled for March 3rd
Due Oct 26, 2017!!!
