Hi Everyone,

I just received my 3rd Beta result, 429 or 492. Can't really remember, I was really expecting bad news this time. My beta numbers were interesting to say the least. 11dp3dt - 70, 13dp3dt - 79, and 17dp3dt - 429/492. First ultrasound is on March 1st. My dh and I are afraid to be happy until we know for sure this is going to work out.

In the mean time I just keep checking to make sure my boobs still hurt blush.png . Which they do, like holy bananas they are sore. I am exhausted, I can't stay awake past 8:30. I am starving but I can't seem to eat a lot of what I am actually craving.

Me ( 32 ) DH ( 32 ) : Male Factor.

More Info under About Me.

Taking a year long break to relax before doing another round of IVF....July 18/17 : Spoke to doctor. Might be going for donor sperm....just need to wrap my head around it now.

Oct.11,2017 : Slowly starting up again. Blood work done. SIS in November.

Dec '17 : IUI with donor sperm. Dec 15 : 1st IUI: BFN

Jan '18 : IUI #2. BFN

Feb '18 : Transferring to PCRM Edmonton.

Hello fellow October due date moms to be.

I got my first positive BETA last Thursday at 286 and my second BETA  after 48 hours was 620, so I am happy with the results.

Looking at my calendar, my due date will be middle of October, although as an older mom with a higher BMI I fully expect to deliver early.

Next step, 6 and a half week ultrasound.

Well. I guess I'm going to join. I was going to wait till my US on Friday, but my nausea is now so bad that I've had to start diclectin, so I figure something is going right?

I'm currently 6w1d, and due on oct 8th. I am 43 so.... This is a surprise natural pregnancy, we were not really trying and really thought we couldn't even get pregnant anymore. We have a 21 month old son from a de ivf in zlin. Before we had him, I suffered five miscarriages, most before six weeks, and the last one at almost 13 weeks. I've been terrified to join this group before my ultrasound, but I feel I need a group who understands, and who's also going through some of the same things I am emotionally and physically.

I am not attached to an ivf clinic right now, so my gp is taking care of everything for me as much as possible. He arranged an early US, and is applying for the panorama test for me once I hit nine weeks. I'm hoping my high risk OB will take over at ten weeks. It's going to be strange not to have continuous US monitoring but I'm trying to come to terms with that somehow.

Hoping I get to stick around, but have already made peace with the idea that I may not.

Welcome to the group! Looks like we're going to have a good gang here for the next eight months! It's so exciting to see so many BFPs! And quandary - that is awesome that you had one naturally! :) I will have everything crossed for you that this is a little fighter who will stick around.

AFM - insisted on a thyroid check after reading about the risks (and knowing I am already hypo heading into IVF). Of course, karma came and bit me in the a** - I took a bad fall on my way to the clinic. Managed to twist so I landed more on my right side, and am just paranoid watching for cramps or spotting now. (My sister assures me she fell constantly throughout her second pregnancy and nothing bad happened.) And it was actually nice to be able to walk into the clinic, show them my mangled hand, and have someone clean it up for me too. Haha.

Only two more days until our U/S! Holy crap!

Some of my symptoms came back like cramps and nausea so I didn't end up POAS (plus i think it would be stressful does it look darker or lighter etc??!), I had weird cramps over the weekend, one was so strong it stopped me in my tracks (almost like a contraction) but no bleeding or anything like that thank god.  I read that sometimes cramping is more obvious when you are dehydrated so I am planning to drink more water so I don't feel that again it was a little scary.  I'm trying not to read too much into everything since symptoms, no symptoms or symptoms that fluctate can go either way, just trying to enjoy it.  I have friends who went thru this last year and they got pg and they didn't enjoy their first few months because of worrying... secretly I think they are enjoying themselves vicariously thru us now since they couldn't do it last time, so I'm trying to enjoy this time as much as I can.  I just have to remember that we transferred a good blast and not a day 3 embryo this time which apparently can make all the difference!

I have a question, when you get released by the clinic, can you use a Midwive instead of an OB?  Or are we considered high risk?  I'm over 40 too.  I just hear great things about Midwives and the type of care you receive, I know there are waiting lists wondering I should at least get my name on one.

I believe that as an over 40 mom you are automatically consider high risk (geriatric pregnancy) and therefore not eligible for a midwife.

But here is something to make you laugh.

Since us over 40's are having geriatric pregnancies, I am going to start asking for a seniors discount. If i am going to be called old I want the benefits of it!

I actually bumped my US to today since I was in the city doing errands anyways... I'm measuring a couple days behind (which in fine with. There's a five day margin of error anyways), and a HeartBeat! It was 114 which is pretty stellar for 6w2d! I'm stunned to be honest. Now to make it past 12 weeks. This is only the third of seven pregnancies in the last five years that have made it to ultrasound with a heartbeat. One was my son, the other was our late loss. I'm still nervous but feeling maybe a hint of hope now. I'll feel much better once the nipt is done in three weeks!

Congrats quandry!  That is great news to see it that early.  I read somewhere (not sure if this is scientifically backed up) but if you see a HB then chance of successful pregnancy goes up to 95%.

I keep looking at the photo I snapped of the screen before I left and some things don't look quite right. Hoping my gp has results soon and will call to discuss.

It's a never ending line of worry. Sigh.

Also had some bad crampin last night. Hoping everything is still ok. Still some twinges today but maybe not quite as bad.

Hi quandry, sorry to hear about your worries.  Its great that you saw a HB so I wouldn't dwell on it until you hear different from the doctor.  I have to keep telling myself that too, my doctor said everything looked good as expected on our last u/s but I want to re-analysis every word she said and how she said it (is she telling me everything?!).

Today, I am not as nauseated and have less breast tenderness but some crazy twinges/twitches in my abdomen... freaking out a bit, but who knows maybe that will be the norm for me.

Hello ladies,

Last week was very hard for me between nausea, work, study, and home. So my catching up with the group is long; please bear with me! :)

Jane welcome and congratulations. I have been having nausea as well so bad. Assuring and evil at the same time.
Wannabemummy I also go in cycles of bad nausea/heartburn/sore bbs, then not as much but more twinges and cramps. Sigh
Sundance I started aversions and cravings around 4.5 / 5 weeks. I absolutely cannot stand coffee now. DH clears all evidence before he goes to work so I dont deal with it. I crave a lot of things, but eat very little most of the time.
Algae  welcome and congratulations! I wish you all the best.
yaenaSK I go through this crave/gross cycle. I want something so bad and when I have it, I either dont eat or eat little then hate it. I too have thyroid issue. I got it checked just before transfer and they needed to increase my dose. I hate all these meds. Sorry to hear of your fall, hope you are fine now. Good luck on ur u/s tomorrow!
CarolynB2 welcome and congrats. I too get full easy, almost half my previous portions. Tell about the alternating diarrhea and constipation. Mostly the former. I hear ya on wanting to share good news. We might do the same with our parents and close friends that visit a lot and babysit. Also, I am so symptomatic and might vomit any moment with no holds, better to tell them without the gross.
OneBigSigh congrats on the beta and GL on the u/s! Try to relax and enjoy as much as u can. Welcome to the craving mania club.
idream welcome and congrats! GL on ur u/s! I loved your joke: we need a discount! Yea!
quandary welcome to the forum and the diclectin club. Congrats on your HB. Praying this one sticks to the end. I am sorry to hear you had all those m/c. This is where you will find a listening ear and caring heart. I had m/cs as well and I have a 3yo dd from a previous fet. I feel so old to run after kids but life happens.
wannabemummy -  I stopped POS as well after all the other symptoms kicked in. Early on though, one day I cried and prepared to plan my next cycle just because the color got fainter on 2 cheapies on same day and I had cramps similar to m/c. Phone call next day confirmed my beta is good.

AFM - now I am at 6.5w. Nausea was so bad that I started vomiting in weekend. I started diclectin to be able to go on with my life.
Even with it, I am still not the most comfortable. Always yukky feeling of everything around. Smells, noises, tastes. I crave lots of fruit. Our fridge looks like there will be war next week. I got several juices and fruits to take in liquid as I don't drink enough water. I get small portions as I get bored of tastes shortly after.i also nap some days. I never ever nap except when pregnant.

As to my clinic, I called them today to ask when to stop medications. They said 10 weeks. How about you guys? I also asked them if I need anything from them before I go see my new family dr and thereafter an OB. They said they need to book me in with my fertility dr before that and do the u/s. As I mentioned before I have some phobia of internal u/s. The nurse said we will book you and you can refuse in your appointment. This is a bit weird to me. I asked her, is he going to at least "try" to detect hb on external u/s? She said he "may". I am not sure what is the purpose of the visit then. It is not until 9 weeks in. I guess I will have to go to this appointment and talk to him about my fears. DH will have to be with me then for support. We both suffered when I kept blaming myself after my first m/c. Did any of you happen to detect a h/b before 12 weeks externally?

Gardenia- My fertility clinic was able to do an external u/s at 7 weeks and were able to detect the hb. I was not comfortable getting a internal us.

I'm having another freak out day... most of my symptoms are gone today except for constant hunger with food cravings and a little queasy, did anyone have this at 6 weeks I hear it usually comes later?

I was on a medicated FET cycle (ovaries shut down with Lupron) so in essence my body is not producing any progesterone on its own (no corpus luteum) so I really shouldn't expect to get bad progesterone related symptoms (I didn't really either before BFP).   I am on progesterone suppositories so I suspect when my symptoms go away it might be a progesterone absorption thing, at least this is what I'm trying to rationalize to myself!  I think hcg is really only responsible for morning sickness and all other are symptoms come from progesterone.  Next Tuesday can't come too soon!

Just had our first U/S :) Everything is looking great. We saw a strong heartbeat (125) and baby is measuring at 6w6d. Our due date is official from the doctor now - October 5th.

We went over all the prenatal testing options - we are debating the Harmony test and paying for it, since the false positive rate is so much lower. If we don't do it, we won't do any of the first trimester testing. In either case, we'll see our RE one more time, in about three weeks, and then I am cleared to head to my family doctor. Our RE knows our family doctor and trusts them, so she didn't see a need to send me to the OBGYN specifically.

We are over the moon happy today. As we were leaving, DH jumped up and clicked his heels together. All of the nurses saw and "Awww"ed him and laughed.

Hi everyone
So glad to have this space!
I am experiencing a lot of anxiety this week. I have had 2 betas both good. Tomorrow is my third. My clinic is radio silent on U/S timing but I guess that will be next week if all goes well.
is anyone else doing acupuncture? I was going once a week before becoming pregnant. I went the day after FET and again yesterday... my acupuncturist said it is very helpful at preventing miscarriage. I am a believer, but was feeling anxious nonetheless.

Also, grappling with exhaustion.
I love the idea of a senior discount for my geriatric pregnancy- brilliant.
I am not going to use a midwife, but I do plan on having a doula...

Will update when I know more...
Best to all
