Is it possible that I gained 10 pounds from taking these Gonal F, Luveris injections? I hear some get bloated but 10 pounds? Some reassurance would be nice, if anyone had the same experience,

Me too, I gained (all cycles together) 25 lbs. I also took Gonal-F during 2 cycles.

Elisabeth - I gained about 10 during my cycle, and then I put on another 5 immediately after during Christmas. Another friend of mine put on 12 during her cycle as well. It's gotta be normal

No problem!!!
Sorry to say it didnt work the first time. I think it was because of all the stress i was having! But, it did work the second time and twins!!!
I just want you to know that there are many many women who get pregnant their first time, but if you dont, it will happen!!! Ok hun!

With every cycle, I've gained between 8-10 lbs, some of that is not fat, it's fluid from the follies and from being bloated.

Try not to stress yourself girl!
I was on Gonal F and Luveris as well and when they weighed me before my ER I was horrified when I had gone up 8 pounds!
I dropped 4 of that 8 a few days later and then we got our BFP and well.... the weight gain began again LOL.
Like bal said, no worries; once babies arrive the weight will go!

I am just start my first round this week , but my friends tell me the same.
She put on 10 lb every cycle, and she got pg only the 3rd time. But after the baby born all those pounds just melted off from her.

The weight that you guys gained during your cycles - what would you say that it was due to? an effect of the drugs alone or did you get more cravings or what? I have gained almost 20 pounds in the last five months just on Serophene ~ I just though maybe I was being lazy and eating badly because I'm a little stressed but maybe a little of it is actually the drugs???

The weight that you guys gained during your cycles - what would you say that it was due to? an effect of the drugs alone or did you get more cravings or what? For me, I'm hoping to say it was clearly the drugs. I have never seemed to have my weight fluctuate and then all of a sudden my belly's puffy and I'm wondering how this happened.
I was up 10 pounds and I'd have to say it was the Gonal F and Luveris I was taking, or Suprefact Nasal- definatley one of those.
I joined this site, saw the article on Accupuncture and contacted Dr. Yan because ironically she was also in Calgary- one treatment, I lost 4.5 pounds!!!
Relief let me tell you.

I already have my first accupuncture appointment set up for next week so that's good to know it has another benefit. Anything that can keep the weight under control BEFORE I actually get PG lol (not that that's the most important thing....but for me it certainly doesn't help the stress factor)

Ever Hopeful - most of the weight that I put on was from the Bravelle & Menopur. But, some of it was definitely from emotional eating. I had a tough cycle and kept getting bad news. And I definitely noticed that I would comfort myself with junk food. I don't know exactly what Serophene is, but a lot of drugs will contribute to weight gain. I hope accupuncture will help you get some control. Good luck.

Hi girls,
boy, am I glad to hear I wasn't the only one who gained weight! I gained about 5 pounds before ER and then ballooned another 10 lbs after ER (overstimulated a little), but now I'm back down to my regular weight, which means i haven't gained any with the pregnancy so far...hmmmm...funny how none of my clothes fit...lol

November 3rd - yet another ultrasound to try and figuring out all the bleeding (another big bleed today)...found "answers" but have to wait for appointment on November 5th to discuss results. ** it's a BOY!!! **

I would have to say it was the drugs because after a BFN, I seemed to go back to "normal" within a couple weeks.
