Curious if anyone has ever asked or done a 3 embryo transfer at Olive? I found out at past transfer I had one inconclusive embryo left along with 2 CCS tested normal embryos. Our plan was to do one last transfer and 2 on our last transfer and call it quits........this other embryo has now thrown me for a loop. Not sure if we should just discard it or use it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This will be my 7th transfer and out of the 6 previous ones 4 ended in chemical losses (2 of which were CCS normal) and 2 were bfn (this current CCS normal and one untested).

Very unsure what I should do as the clinic says if we do transfer the inconclusive it may make a pregnancy end in another early miscarriage or late term loss. I am not wanting to use it on it's own (if we would have known about it, it would have gone back this past transfer.

To be honest I wouldn't transfer anything without doing some immune investigations.  While CCS normal embryos don't guarantee a full term pregnancy....4 chemical pregnancies would make me want an RPL and some immune investigations run.

I'm so sorry you're facing some tough decisions.

Thanks CdnHockeyGal. I have done the RPL and basic immune panels. All have come back normal. Very frustrating not having answers. I wish something did come back abnormal so we had something to work with. We have done immune suppressing on past cycles but still had more losses. I'm at a loss. We did a second opinion consult but he came back with the same thing my clinic said, surrogacy was our only chance of having a baby (not possible for us).

Oh dear - I'm so sorry.  Did you immune testing include investing if you and your partner are a partial or full DQ-Alpha match?

waiting - it was suggested to me to transfer 2 or 3 embryos at our last fresh cycle because we lost so many embryos between day 3 and day 5 (16 to 0 and 18 to 1).  We transferred just 2 day 3 embryos as the possibility of triplets scared me (BFN anyway).  Difference though is I've had successful pregnancies before.  A friend of mine DID transfer 3 day 3 embryos (poor quality) when Olive was with Genesis.  They had multiple losses (miscarriages, chemicals, BFNs) after double transfers of their best quality embryos.  Needless do say, they did go on to have fraternal triplets, but it was a risk they were willing to take.

I've read many positive outcomes from transferring an inconclusive pgs embryo.  How old are you?  What has your doctor suggested?  I'd be inclined to transfer the two and go back and transfer the last one on it's own.  Triplets can be very risky if they all took.  Good luck in your decision.

I have a friend who transferred 3 after 3 early losses and ended up with triplets!

My personal preference is to only ever transfer one, but everybody is different. I also had 3 losses and my doctor prescribed neupogen and intralipid infusions on my last transfer that was successful.

best of luck whatever you decide.

I don't think that was ever tested. Don't think they do it in Canada though.

I am 38 and Dr said Olive probably won't allow 3 at a time. We didn't even know about this inconclusive till about 2 weeks ago, so kind of threw us all for a loop. My plan this past transfer was one and then two this next time and call it quits.....now we need to decided what to do with the inconclusive. Hubby is against 3 also.... :( We wanted to be sure to use them all up before August so we didn't have to pay for another 2 years storage when we would only use it for maybe 2 weeks.

I looked into neupogen (have used intrillipids before) but the cost is so high plus the side effects scare the crap out of me.

Thanks ladies for all your insight. Hubby and I will have a long chat and try to figure this out. I highly doubt I will get pregnant with triplets with all my losses, but don't want to risk a healthy pregnancy from transferring 3.

I believe some ladies have had the DQ testing in Canada with their clinics arranging for it via the Beers Centre. We had our blood drawn in Canada and the testing down through Reprosource in Boston.

Waiting - I was in a similar situation as you for our last cycle. Lots of chemicals and losses and 3 embryos left as our last hope. Of the 3 embryos, 2 were considered good and the third was iffy as it had initially arrested on day 4 and then continued growing on day 5 and ended up being frozen on day 6. At the time of transfer we were given the option of transferring all 3 but we chose two. I wanted to put all 3 in as it was our last chance but DH was adamantly against 3. I was also very clear with my doc that I wanted to give everything a try "just in case". I discussed neupogen with him and he was agreeable but in the end the side effects scared me also so I didn't do it. I did heparin injections as soon as I got a BFP, did low dose aspirin leading up to transfer and then throughout whole pregnancy, and I did the benadryl experiment (doc said that there is no evidence that it helps but none that it harms either) from transfer to beta. Whether or not any of it helped or not or whether it was just chance that the two we put back ended up being "the right ones" who knows but for me I knew I needed to have something within my control so those things helped.
