I am new in this thread and planning to have consultation for IVF. My primary Doctor is Dr. Tallon but she resigned from PCRM before I can even complete all my lab works, so I was transferred to Dr. Dunne.

I have one failed IUI under r

Dr. Dunne's care and thinking if anyone had any experience with IVF procedure with her. Please share your experiences guys. thanks a lot!

I have had a similar experience. Started in feb with Dr Tallon and did one failed iui then Dr Dunne automatically became my Dr and failed iui 2 under her care. With amh testing we decided to move onto ivf. I am currently in stimulation cycle. I am a bit concerned as she is obviously less experienced than the other dr.s at pcrm.

Oh I have the same dilemma, Im calling tomorrow to set an appointment for IVF consultation, I want to change my RE but I felt that it would be so unprofessional to change RE with the same clinic. I don't know what to do, Im just too unsure with Dr. D. How long does it take for the IVF process? coz I'm planning to do it in November. Goodluck with yours! Please kept in touch so we can share same experience with the same RE.

When I started at PCRM I did my research. The receptionist had tried to book me in with another doctor who I'm sure might have been a great doctor but since I knew that I wanted to see Dr. Roberts I was persisted to get in with him. I switched from the Olive Clinic to the PCRM, I wanted better care and a better Doctor. With doing IUI's it does have low success rates, all mine failed too but I find that most fertility doctors start with that process. When you start IVF who ever your doctor is they will be the one who watches over your protocol but you will have all the other doctors doing ultrasounds, possibly egg retrieval and transfer. If your consultation doesn't go great, I would say something, this process is long and expensive do what you feel is right.

Hi everyone. I go to PCRM as well but under the care of a different physician. I've seen them all during my cycles and monitoring. Drs D and T did my first (fresh) transfer and they were very nice and it went well. I trust all the physicians as well as the staff in PCRM. They are all professional and the communication among them is great, which is why I don't regret switching to them (from another clinic). I think Dr T is now with Olive. If you'd ask me, I'd rather switch doctors within the clinic than switch over to the other clinic because I didn't have a satisfying experience with my other two clinics. I hope you have a successful cycle with Dr D. However, it's really up to you in the end so do whatever feels right. All the best!

Hi I just wanted to let you know that with my cycle I did have Dr. Dunne do a couple of my ultrasounds and my egg retrieval. She was pretty great. She has a friendly personality and very caring. I think you would be fine with her as your doctor. However, Dr. Roberts did do my embryo transfer and I'm pregnant!

Wow! congratulations! I am so happy for you. This is very uplifting and encouraging news! I will start with IVF process at the end of October and hopefully, transfer will be done  early November. Please share what vitamins did you take and other staff that made your transfer a success. Please keep in touch and thank you for sharing the good news.

Is there any new opinions about Dr. Dunne? I had one meeting with her and definitely didn't like her conception:(. Is there anybody who was happy and lucky with her?

Piggy, if you're not completely happy with Dr.Dunne, then request to see another RE in the clinic. Is there anything in particular that you'd like to happen? I find the clinic to be accommodating. If you choose to do an IVF or IUI cycle with them you might end up meeting most of them during monitoring. I saw Dr.D a couple of times during monitoring and thought she was alright. I like the other ones better though. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply Lumnay. No I'm not expected something in particular to happen. But I didn't find her as a great professional. I can't understand when the doctor ask: what you gonna do, without any suggestions from her. So I hope that others doctors will contact with us as well during IVF.

I'm under her care as well. Most of the time, the answers you get are very vague or not informative. I think they don't want to influence your decision but I'd expect more information to make this informed decision coming from the DR and I feel that it's lacking. I feel a lot of things are not well explained procedures, process, what to expect, etc. Often times I feel the meetings are rushed. I wait for 30minutes for an appointment and then it only lasts 10minutes. A lot of times I feel that the answers are short to cut off conversation.

 

I was going through arrested first trimester pregnancy and although I hadn't made up my mind regarding whether to use the Misoprostol medication or wait for the body to expel this - Dr.D had said it's my choice but she will give me all the medications in case I want to use this medication. The only instruction I was given was to stick this up high vaginally and repeat if it doesn't work. However, the one page of information about this medication's management was not given to me nor did I know about this until I called the nurse. I didn't know about the possibility of collecting pregnancy tissues from the miscarriage until I read this one page instructions. I don't know if it's lack of knowledge regarding the clinic's protocols or she expects others (nurse/pharmacist) will provide this information. 

 

If I know her as I do now would I have chosen a different RE? Yes definitely. Again these are my personal experience and only to be used as a reference. Ultimately, the decision is yours on who you are most comfortable with. I think most people choose a female doctor because they are more comfortable with them; but I think a lot of the male doctors in this clinic are superb. If not more compassionate.

Cherrizdream, thank you for your full reply. We already decided to change her. Because when we came again she just haven't recognized us! She began to ask as the same question and provide us incorrect information. I couldn't believe that's happening with us. She is not professional and also she is not attentive person like doctor should be. Good luck to you any case

Dr Dunne is the reason why I left PCRM. It was a terrible first experience with a RE. She was very condescending for one thing. When my husband had a question about his SA she said that sperm doesn't evaporate with her eyes rolling. She gave us the bare minimum of explaining things. For example she gave me the option of taking clomid or femera. How do I decide when I don't know anything about either medication. I asked her what the difference was and she said go talk to the nurse. She didn't even say our consultation was over not even a goodbye... just a "go see the nurse!" It was like we were bothering her by just being in her office. So we left her office and so I asked the nurse about the medications and what the difference was. The nurse told me she didn't know and asked me If I wanted to ask Dr Dunne. Well my husband was so pissed he ripped up the pamphlets and walked out of that clinic. Now that I am at olive fertility I am so happy I made that Change. No one at olive has been even close to the nastiness of Dr Dunne. She should be ashamed of herself. Dr Dunne why are you a RE? Go into research so you don't have to deal with patients. STAY AWAY Ladies! Trying to conceive and dealing with infertility is hard enough. Don't waste your time and money with her.

I'm there right now with 3 unsuccessful IUI's.  I took Femera for the first time and nothing was explained to me, not even what the purpose of it was or how to take it.  I have to make a specific follow-up every time one isn't successful and no one ever calls me back.  Also one time I had my LH surge in the afternoon, and they wouldn't take me in same day, and told me I have to wait another day.  Dr. Dunne continues to push IVF on me every time, even before I tried IUI and I definitely feel like a cash cow every time I walk in to that office.  Has anyone changed from one fertility clinic to the other?  Is it difficult?  I don't want to have to go through a million consults again, I just want to have a baby.

msrachel and suzy, I'm sorry you are both having an unpleasant experience at PCRM. I was a patient there and I came from Olive. My main RE was different though and in the end I came home with two babies. I'd say try switching to a different RE if you would consider that option instead of switching. Dr.D was never my main RE during any of my cycles but I did see her for monitoring once and I thought she was okay.

What I found helpful during the entire time I was a patient at PCRM was that I was very clear and direct with my requests and questions, especially when dealing with the nurses. I find it interesting that my experience was very positive at PCRM and it was opposite at Olive.

I was under the care of Dr.Dunne and after my first failed round of ivf I asked to change doctors. She was not compassionate at all and was very vague with her responses when I had questions. I asked for my file to be transferred to Dr.Seethram and wow what a difference!! He is absolutely amazing and he takes his time to explain all the steps to you. He is passionate about what he does and it definitely shows. I know everyone has their own individual experiences but mine with Dunne was not a good one.

She was my Dr when I had my first phone consultation with PCRM. I didn't get the greatest impression from her and it felt like that very short and very expensive phone call was a waste of time. Glad that I ended up having Dr Havelock. What a huge difference!
