Hi! I am new and someone suggested I go to the intro board.

I am on my second IVF, transferred 2 embies (all we had) in a fresh 3DT.

The Dr. didn't see a heart beat at 6 w 2 days and suggested a d&c that day (friday) after diagnosing me with twin blighted ovums. We didn't because my husband had to travel and went in Monday for the D&C where they found a heartbeat.

Currently 8 and a half weeks pregnant with strong heartbeat of 174. But I am measuring behind 5 days which he is concerned about. Have been measuring 5 days behind the entire time.

Hoping for maybe just a late implanter? Maybe a baby that is scrunched up? Worried about genetic problems...... super worried. Have called a genetic specialist to see what my options are.

Anyone do IVF with a baby that measured behind for the first 3 ultrasounds and have a success?

MUAH!

Oh wow.

I was misdiagnosed with a chemical, and am now 20 weeks pregnant. I was measuring days behind at my first ultrasound, and the nurse explained that the most important thing was appropriate growth from that point on.

So at my 6 week ultrasound, I measured 5w2d, but a week after that, measuring 6w2d, they said I was back on track and just adjusted my due date. Good luck!

Wowza.

I shudder to think how many times this may have happened to others.

I started bleeding heavily at 12dp3dt (which continued for 12 days) and had a first beta that was 140 and two days later 170 and two days later 150.  We were told by the clinic nurses we'd had a complete loss and they would monitor my betas to ensure they went down to zero but if it took awhile, there were other options to help it along.  At 21dp3dt, my betas went up, doubled from the previous test.   We measured slightly behind for awhile and the first few ultrasounds provided us with 3 different due dates.  We also had had 2 transferred and the crazy numbers we think could be due to one implanting way earlier than the other (and we lost that one) and then the other found something to hang on to and kept going.  We measured behind and it turned out fine.

Just like impatience said, the important thing is consistent growth from this point onward so if you've always been 5 days behind, that is not necessarily disconcerting.

the baby is growing just as it should. all ultrasounds look perfect. The doctor has gone from "I would highly recommend testing" to if you feel the need to test you can go see a specialist. I am about 10 weeks now and there are no signs of anything to worry about from the ultra sounds and I am going to see the specialist on the 3rd. This past week the dr also gave me lots of different reasons besides genetic abnormalities that the baby could be measuring small. co twin demise, could just be a small baby, late implantation. He said he feels much better now than he did after the 1st ultra sounds. My SCH is almost gone, heart rate was 174 last week, 170 this week and everything is looking fine according to dr and the wonderful ultrasound tech. So I am trying to be positive, Have faith and stop worrying.

I have progressed perfectly and the genetic counselor was appalled that the dr ever suggested that something may be wrong with the baby. She said there is no literature that in anyway indicates embronic pause is an issue with genetic abnormalities, even going so far as to call the dr in front of me to ask him what he has ever read to indicate why he told me this. He had to say no he has never seen anything on this either, then mentioned that the other dr jumped the gun in suggesting a d&c. So j am feeling really good about everything. 16 weeks and 150 HB just yesterday. I never thought I would get through those days but time does go on and it gets better. Just hang in there!!!!! You never know! Thanks to all who supported me!
