Mollybean, I am suppose to go for a blood preg test on Oct 2...do you think I can POAS before then? I just want to know so I can be ready to determine what to do next...

I am older so it gets a little daunting , the whole waiting thing. We have not been diagnosed as "infertile" as we both have been tested and there is nothing wrong. We are just trying to speed this up due to age. If this does not happen this year, I will be extremely discouraged seeing that I had 2 abs and 1 miscarriage in less than 1 calendar year on the pill!! The irony of it all.

Me : 40
DB : 36
DD natural unassisted : 18
DS natural unassisted : 16
Trigger Sept 16 with 2 large follies 18mm and 21mm
IUI Sept 18
Blood test Oct 2
Confirmed pregnancy! Yay! Beta of 99
Oct 4 Beta count 214
Oct 25 - US and everything is great, implantation is proper and is 7 weeks 2 days old. Only 1. Heartbeat of 170. No blood test done though.
Nov 1 - Second US, everything is excellent and heartbeat is 182. 8 weeks 3 days old now.
Next step - NT US and Bloodtest Nov 29
OBGYN Dec 19 and everything seems normal and well! Due date changed earlier by a week
Dec 28 - Final blood test was good. Stats 1 : 1100. No amnio required.

Jan 16 - US and scan - alles gut!

IT'S A GIRL!!!
Due Date June 6, 2013!!!

amandalove - nice! I bought 2 home tests but am not sure whether to do it yet or wait for this weekend. I am suppose to go to do the blood test Tuesday....
I read on here that if you are triggered, it may show a false positive or negative so I am a little worried :)
Let me know how Sunday goes!

Sarah - Will for sure keep you posted !!! About the Home tests PCRM ( clinic i go to) said dont do it. I told them i will be .....so when is it safe to start testing since i know me and i will feel as i have too !!! They said the day before your bloodwork , and day of ! I started 5 days prior to blood work and when i got my negative that day i called them and told them. ( As i had a minor freak out :( ) They said that it is not bad all the time as it could be a good thing as the HCG trigger i took is not showing in my system - So if/when i did show prego it would be my natural baby hormone. Not a false positive !!!! So its all very stressful either way ... but for me i found testing took me back to looking forward to something and having to do something for the process, also gave me something to look forward to and passed the time. Best of luck to you on whatever you decide on doing :)

Hey guys,

Wondering if I can jump in here. I'm on 4dp5dt (9dpo)... and I'm thinking of doing a POAS to see if the trigger is out of my system.... did you guys end up doing POAS? I've had some people advise against it, but I don't think I'm going to be able to keep myself from doing it before the official beta, so I'm thinking it would be better to know that the trigger is out of my system!

This 2WW with all of the crazy symptoms (I know they're mostly from progesterone) is driving me nuts!

Me: 34 DH: 35
Doing IVF and PGD to avoid passing on a rare condition.
I also suffer from mild Rheumatoid Arthritis.

IVF / PGD #1
June 3 - 14 eggs retrieved (12 fertilized!!!smile.png Started on Endometrin.
June 6 - 4 embryos arrested, 1 only 4 cells and so unable to be biopsied
7 embryos biopsied (cells sent to Detroit for analysis)
June 8 - ET cancelled - 4 eggs affected, 3 with chromosomal abnormalities

IVF / PGD #2
Oct 19 - ER (15 eggs retrieved); started on endometrin
Oct 20 - Lab results (of 15 eggs, 13 were mature, of those, 9 fertilized)
Oct 22 - Down to 3 embryos - 2 biopsied (1 B grade 7 cell egg, 2 C grade 7 and 5 cell eggs)
cells sent to Detroit for PGD and PGS testing
Oct 24 - 2 eggs were good! 1 good blast transfered, 1 frozen, 3rd biopsied and being watched
Oct 25 - 3rd embryo frozen, awaiting PGD and PGS testing on that one
Nov 1 - started spotting & cramping on 8dp5dt
Nov 2 - early beta = HCG of 10 (embryo implanted but didn't make it) heartbroken
Nov 4 - Good news: 3rd embryo clear - now we have 2 unaffected, chromosomally normal frosties!

FET #1
Mar 2 - called in day 1, started 4mg estrace per day and low-dose aspirin
March 9 - increased estrace to 6mg per day
Mar 18 - U/S found lining at 1.25, started endometrin 3x per day and down to 4mg estrace/day
Mar 22 - transferred one 5 day hatching blast (still have one 6 day blast frozen) Officially PUPO!

Apr 4 - Beta = 1 - BFN sad.png

Took a break from IVF and FETs

April 28 - May 1 positive HPTs, each day getting darker

  • IVF #2 - July 2012 - used Lupron as trigger - 5 eggs retrieved from 16 follicles - Dr. concludes I do have GEFS - they know little about it. All 5 eggs fertilized.
  • Transferred 2 8-cell grade A embryos - BFN
  • 3 frozen embryos
  • FET #1- October 22, 2012 - transferred 2 three-day embryos - BFN
  • FET #2 - February - 1 embryo left - cancelled due to estrogen levels dropping :(
  • FET #2 - March 23, 2013 - medicated cycle - transfer of our last embryo - BFN
Now what? We've had the public adoption paperwork since October and I still can't gather the strength to look at it.

Just curious, when did you first POAS? I'm scared to do it again... as I know it'll affect me hugely emotionally

Me: 34 DH: 35

Nov 2 - early beta = HCG of 10 (embryo implanted but didn't make it) heartbroken

probably day 2 and every day after, this is my 3rd transfer and with the other two i did the same, and i still have all of my sticks, they are all dated and i have kept a book on my 3 transfers from beginning to end. i have brought them out to compare each transfer. just hoping 3rd time is a charm.

Do you find it helps you feel less stressed about it? I hope 3rd time is a charm for you too!

I am 38. My first IVF-ICSI attempt. Problems: fibroids, blocked right tube from fibroid removal surgery, male factor. 2 embryos transferred.
After ET on Thu: doctor instructed me to stay on bed 15 min before going to the washroom (After that, I read somewhere, it should've been 30-60 min?), then I rest at home for the rest of the day. Doctor didn't instruct me for strict bedrest, just no lifting > 10lbs.

Fri - rest at home
Sat - Sun: rest at home, but I did went to grocery shopping with my husband, just walk around a little bit, and go home, no lifting
Mon - went back to work, I drove to work. I cut my work time to 6 hrs
Tue - worked for 6 hours, drove to work. I did some light cooking and washing dishes, but a lot lighter than what I usually do.
Wed - rest at home for Tue I felt so tired, and got a bit headache at nite. no cooking
Thu - went back to work for 6 hours, drove to work. no cooking.
Fri - went to work, had job interview.. after went home got spotting (I wonder if it is the job interview; but I swear it wasn't a stressful one), rest at home after work
Sat-Sun - rest a lot, spotting didn't stop
Mon - bleeding
Tue - BFN news.

I was on prometrium. My friend got BFP, she's 39, fibroid, but never had any surgery to remove the fibroid. her doctor ordered her 3 days strict bedrest, no shower for 3 days after ET. She did all that and she took completely 2 weeks off work. And her doctor ordered progesterone shot to back muscle instead of prometrium vaginal insert. I wonder if this plays a part?
