Hi! It's been awhile since this thread's been active but just wanted to say hi to everyone. I started sniffing Synarel on October 29th. Estimated ER is Nov 21/22, and estimated ET is Nov 24/25. Haven't been back at the hospital since orientation but will be going in for injections lessons and bloodwork on Nov 9th.

Nire - Hope you're chillaxing as much as possible during your 2ww.

Andia - How's it going? You must be almost finished your cycle?

Hi to everyone else!

Hi Renie,

Nice to see you are on your way. It's your first time cycling, right? It's not bad at all, and all the staff at the clinic are very nice. You will do great!! I'm in my 2ww now, will have my beta on Nov 15. Fingers and toes are all crossed!

Take care, and lots of luck!

Hi! I'm back to the clinic on Friday for bloodwork and all the paperwork ... and off to the pharmacy to get my stims.

First u/s in an hour. I feel like my bladder is going to explode!

Hi Girls,

Renie- How did your u/s and injections appt go? Did you start your stims today? Good luck, you'll see the needles don't hurt at all.

Nire- So you are in the 2ww? Hope your doing well. What day do you go in for your pg test? I go in next Thur.

I'm now 8dp3dt and not feeling any pgcy symptoms or anything. Still hopeful though.

Keep in touch!

Hi ladies,

Went into the clinic today but after signing the forms with Stephanie and then dropping the requisite $6K, we found out we couldn't start stims yet because I have a cyst on one of my ovaries and my levels are suppressed enough. Big Sigh! DH took the setback harder than I did. Hopefully, AF will show up soon and the issues will resolve themselves.

Sending lots of positive baby thoughts to both of you, andia and nire.

Renie

P.S. Did you find that it was hard getting hold of the nurses at the clinic by phone? I had to keep calling for over 15 mins today.

Hi Renie,

So sorry your cycle has been benched :( I had the exact same thing happen to me the first time. I was really upset and didn't expect it... I was so ready to start my cycle, had booked time off work etc... Anyways, it is quite common, so don't feel too bad. Sometimes going on the bcp can help keep cysts away. Oh, and after my AF came, the cyst was gone and I had a bfp in the next cycle. So, it will be OK but I know how disappointing it is. One thing I have learned about IVF is you have to be patient b/c there is alot of waiting involved. It's so hard sometimes!!

I also notice it's hard to get a hold of the nurses unless you call between 12-2pm. Otherwise it's best to leave a voicemail and they always call me right back.

Well for me, I'm pretty sure it's bfn. I am spotting today and have been doing hpt's and they are beyond negative. I'm still holding on to some hope, but I'm also facing reality. :icon_cry:

How are you doing Nire?

Andia - The last post, you said you think it's a bfn. I hope not! Fingers crossed.

nire - I'm so sorry about your bfn. :( Take it easy. January will be here before you know it.

As for me - I've started stims - on day 6 now and going for more b/w tomorrow. Hoping to get there before 8 a.m. in the crazy rush hour traffic. I've never gotten there early enough to be the first 5 yet. Maybe tomorrow. :)

Renie- Glad to hear you are stimming and they didn't bench your cycle for too long. Do you have lots of follies? Hope so! Good luck and keep us updated!

Nire- Sorry for the bfn.. :( Good luck in Jan! Keep in touch!!

Well, I got a bfp, but the levels are very low, so they think it's going to be a chemical or ectopic :( So, I have to go back on Fri to see what my beta levels are at. It's not looking good, so I'm sad, but I'm mentally prepared. I am still hoping for a miracle. I'll let you guys know how it all turns out when I know.

hi guys,
thanks for all your well wishes.
Renie- all's a go girl! Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress. I was usually number 1 or 2 in the bloodwork line up. i usually got there around 7 30 or so.
Andia- keep positive, everyone's body is different! I remember when i asked about the ovidrel and worried i would screw up the injection. the clinic nurse said that one girl completely FORGOT to give her injection and she still got a BFP! you just never know. We are all thinking about you and sending you well wishes.

Hi Andia,

I'm praying for you. Miracles do happen!

I had my baseline u/s last Tuesday and they found 18 follies on one side and 17 (or 16?) on the other. My next u/s is tomorrow so I'll definitely keep you posted. I think the initial number is definitely scary since it seems really high and the nurse said it's not ideal. We'll see what happens tomorrow...

Hi Andia,

I'm doing well. ER was yesterday and ET on Tuesday. They retrieved 13 eggs and 6 fertilised so I'm hoping they're good quality so we'd have some frosties. Dr. Williams did my ER and will be doing my ET as well. I really like her and the ER nurses. They were so nice and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. I'm bloated now though and not sure how bloated I have to be before it may be OHSS?!!!

How are you doing?

Renie -

Best of luck for your Beta today. It's now 12:30 West Coast time and I would think you are driving yourself nuts about now waiting to make that phone call to find out your results. It's 2pm right?

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hi ladies! It's a BFP! Beta is 754. We're so thankful. Now the wait begins for the second beta and u/s (which would've been Christmas day if clinics were open!)

Yay Renie -

That is a nice strong beta! I'm sure you will be fine for your next one! I know for me I was very relieved to have that 2nd Beta and to actually see the baby's heartbeat at 6 weeks was the best. I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks Jen and Nire. We're very thankful that we got a BFP the first time 'round since IVF is not cheap! Still anxious about the 2nd beta and u/s won't be until Jan 2nd now since the clinic doesn't re-open till then.

Hey there. This is quite an old post but I just thought I would try to revive it. Is there anyone out there who is currently cycling at UBC? We have our consult on Thursday where I assume we discuss our protocol etc... From my estimates, we'll be doing egg retrieval and transfer some time in March.

It would be great to chat with others who are at UBC. :)

Best of luck to you zeukko! I've now done 3 cycles at UBC...2 fresh and1frozen. I got pregnant all 3 times but miscarried twins with the FET. Dr Rowe was my Dr. and he was great....as was everyone there. We have one remaining embryo which we may still try some time this summer/fall. Good luck to you!
