Welcome to the site.  There are lots of supportive and very informed people here.  I also have a genetic issue and also did PGD. I had a probe made, but we weren't with Mt. Sinai.   Some people just love it there and others--not so much. But I think most clinics are like that. I hope your journey will be a smooth one Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply. I hope everyone's experience turns to a great one. Would you mind me asking if you have done the PGD/IVF process yet and if it worked for you? I have heard it takes too much time to make the probe ..., is it true? thanks again and good luck!!

Hi Emile-

It took us approximately 15 weeks (3-4 months) to get our probe made. It worked in that we found out that our embryos were abnormal so we couldn't transfer them. But, I have no regrets with choosing to do PGD. A miscarriage would've been even more painful.

I am sorry that it didn't go through and I agree that miscarriage is much more painful. I wish you best of luck and I hope you keep us posted soon with a great news! good luck and take care flow.gif

Hi Emilie, we haven't used our probe yet as we're still on the IVF wait list, but from the time the genetics clinic received our referral to the time it was complete was almost exactly 2 months. It cost nearly $7000 (CAD) and will cost another $1000 for PGS. Definitely worth it for us.
If you're only worried about age and don't have a genetic condition in the family then I think PGS is what you'd be doing. Do you need a probe for that?
