I have severe (stage 4) endo and I am 12 week pregnant. I had a one-month-acting Lupron shot a few weeks before my transfer and started Prednisone  a week before the transfer. Everything went well, I became pregnant and our little one is doing well. Yesterday I started reducing my dose of Prednisone so that we completely stop it when I reach week 14... And last night I started feeling the old endo pain around my ovaries... I was wondering: Did you take some other medications during 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy to control endo symptoms/inflammation? It seems like the first trimester was the one Drs were concerned about... Maybe everything is fine and my body just needs to adjust to this change.... I guess I am just worried about the effect of this on the baby since I can feel it in a significant way myself...

If you have any similar experience, would you please share?

Thank you,

Ttc first child for both of us since February 2012

I don’t really have much advise but I wanted to let you know that I too have severe stage 4 endo and when I was pregnant with my son I was also on prednisone for the first 12 weeks – was weaned off entirely on the 12th week – and I didn’t have any flare ups for the remainder of the pregnancy. Now with this pregnancy the clinic weaned me off the prednisone so I was done at 7 weeks 5 days pregnant and I still am ok as far as abdominal pain goes.

I know everyone is different but hopefully the farther along you become the better it will get because I think the greater production of progesterone should help with the endo.

Thank you for sharing this info with me, Hopeful. It reassures me that your protocol sounded somewhat similar. What meds are you on now?

I actually feel better today (just a little endo pain) so I guess my body is adjusting to the change.

Congrats on your pregnancy:)

Hi everyone,
I have recently been diagnosed with endo. I also have diminished ovarian reserves. Has anyone had their ovarian reserves affected by having laparoscopic surgery? Woud any of you recommend laparoscopic surgery? I am unsure of what stage of endo that I currently have but they did discover an endometrioma cyst in my last ultrasound for IUI. Please help. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Yes my ovarian reserve decreased considerably after lap. Maybe you can ask for medical treatment.
