Hi everyone,

I have my initial consultation in 3 days!  I'm super excited to start IVF as I have been dealing with infertility for 3 years and has had 3 failed IUI's.  I am so ready to start this process :)  My dx is unexplained, but I did have a septum resected a year ago.

I was wondering what to expect from this appointment?  I have all my pre-req testing done, so will we talk about dates?  Can I expect to have a nice timeline in place?  I assume Dr. Hamilton will go over cost, procedure, etc., etc., but what else can I expect?  Thanks so much!!

Also, I am from Newfoundland and will have to travel to Halifax.  Anyone else have to do this?  How long was your stay in Halifax?

Thanks everyone :)

HI Jen,
I'm waiting for my initial consult with AART. I was wondering if you could tell me about your consult.
Thanks!

Hi Jen,

I'm brand new to this world and have not yet connected with a clinic, but am very interested in AART. I'd be very curious to hear how it goes for you. We're a same-sex male couple with a generous close friend acting as gestational carrier and are definitely intimidated by the whole process, but open-minded as well.

Good luck!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking for the same info.

What should I expect for the initial consultation?

There is a fee, so I am assuming there will probably be blood work and maybe an ultrasound?
