I have Little bit of information about this. Like Do listen to everything which your doctor tells you. Do pray to God for a healthy, easy pregnancy and delivery. And can do light exercises etc.

Does anybody know if canned pineapple is ok to eat during then 2ww, or does it have to be fresh?
I'm on d3p3dt and have been eating canned pineapple for 2 days. I haven't been able to find fresh pineapple at the grocery stores, but I can try to hunt it down if it makes a difference if it is fresh over canned.
Also how much is everyone eating? I've been eating thin rings a day (dole).
Thank you!!!

Well, from what I read, it is more the core that is supposed to help, which you only get with the fresh. But, dunno, maybe canned works too. Or maybe it is all an old wives tale. I just put grapefruit juice in the fridge and will start drinking it today for pre-ovulation time. Give anything a try I suppose.

Hello,

I'm very new to the Forum. I'm so glad i have found this support. I did 3IUI's, 1fresh IVF and 2FET. It's been very disappointing thus I came up with my name need hope.

I have also chanaged my clinic and now I am going to Vancouver for fresh IVF cycle. My first appointment is in Nov. then we will find out when we will start the cycle.

My dh has been very supportive and I also have a friend who went through IVF. I am looking forward to having support through the forum.

Hello Need Hope,
Welcome to IVF.ca forums. I have found this site so very helpful. It is a great outlet to vent, to ask questions, to see if others are experiencing the same thing, and to get support and understanding. I am in a forum called Just to Chat that has been invaluable to me. It has a great group of ladies on it that have recently gone through the same things I have.

When did you get the referral to Vancouver? Did you have to wait long for an appointment? Why did you change? I hope you have some success there!

You can add a signature to your name so that you can let everyone know what treatments you have had when you post in different forums.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Hi There

I am doing:

Accupuncture
3 shot wheatgrass per day (sometimes fresh at Booster Juice and sometimes bottled from Health Food Store)
Folic acid
Vit E
Vit C
B Complex
Vit D
Omega 3-6-9
Royal Jelly
Largentine
B6
Multi Vit
CoEnzeme Q10 - 800 mg - note my clinic says the above can't hurt me but what is really important is the CoEnzeme Q10 - 800 is a lot compared to what I have read about online but my clinic believes that CoEnzeme could be the "key" to healthy eggs (especially in oder women - which I am - 41) They indicated that 800 was the correct amount to take - you need to take 400 in AM and 400 in PM.

Note: I have read online that CoEnzyme Q10 needs to be taken with fat and Vit E for absorption. Also you can get Q10 cheaper from CostCo in big bottles - beleive me you need the big bottles. get the gel cap type NOT the chewables.

My naturopath says - no refined sugar (nothing "white") no coffee and no alcohol

am an doing the above religiously - we shall see the outcome

Definitely abstain from NSAIDs (like ibuprofen / advil or motrin) while TTC. It interferes with implantation!

Great List
Just a question on the Co Q10...800mg? I had not seen that amount anywhere and I heard that 100mg a day was safe. Have you come across a good reference on Co Q10 and fertility?

Sofie 1967 is on the right track..

A program like this should be started way before you start your cycle. You need to prep the body and rid it off toxins, and then build it up and make it strong etc.. So that it can support a growing baby.

Remember no alcohol and lots of positive thinking!

Just to clear things up about the fish and seafood:

Basically any large fish that has been in the ocean for a long period of time would contain a lot of mercury. this includes tuna albacore is a no no but regular can be eaten up to twice a week. Salmon would be considered a small fish and anthing that is generally smaller than the average salmon is fine.

For some reason seafood ie: shrimp lobster etc. is out not sure if it is d/t mercury levels or if it has something to do with baby acquiring allergies. I just can't seem to remember, i just know to stay away from it.

This is my understanding I hope it helps.

Also I did hear that green peas were used as a contraceptive a few hundred years ago don't know if it's true but just incase i stay away from them too.

Oh and thanks for starting this tread most of this info I know already but it is definately nice to have it all in one place.
Had 1 tube unblocked April 2009 still nothing.
DH and I made decision to try IVF March 2010

You can eat shrimp and lobster while pregnant as long as it's in moderation and well cooked http://www.mayoclini...trition/PR00109. The tuna, swordfish etc prohibition is because of the risk of mercury accumulation but the main concern (besides ensuring it's well cooked) for shrimp is, I believe, the fact that much of what's available is farmed and therefore given high levels of antibiotics in the feed. This is a concern with farmed salmon too, so if you're going to make salmon/fish a significant source of protein during your pregnancy you might want to make sure what you're buying is wild rather than farmed. It also important to make sure that other foods, like eggs and deli meats, are also well cooked.

Most of us eat more protein daily than is strictly necessary and you only need an extra 300 calories a day while pregnant so as long as you're eating a wide selection of different foods (to ensure you cover the bases on vitamins and minerals, etc) there's no need to stress over what to eat.
The plural of anecdote is not data.

I am not going to add the obvious or what others have added. I read people giving advice on certain natural meds to take. Do not take anything without Dr's advice. NOTHING! No herbs, nothing. People were talking about melatonin, and it is a natural thing, but it causes hormonal issues and can actually stop ovulation and mess with your cycle. Google MELATONIN+FERTILITY. I am not a Dr, but some of these natural things, just because they are natural does not mean they are good for you. And it would be awful if someone risked a 1.5 month process plus over $10 000 and their time and heart to do this, and to take something that may ruin it would be awful. So take no advice from anyone except your Dr and PLEASE do not take natural anything without advising your RE.

I'm with abb on this one. There are a lot of things that people say help with the process, but there can be risks to some things. My clinic told me not to take baby aspirin before retrieval because it is a surgery and thinning the blood before the process isn't a good idea. I was also told by my clinic and our psychologist (whose expertise is dealing with infertility issues) not to take any supplements or herbal remedies in case they cause a weird reaction with the injections or cause problems with the process. Even in researching some of what I've read about here - raspberry leaf tea, pineapple - I haven't been able to find any research that states these things really do make a difference. As I understand it, you'd have to eat a LOT of pineapple to get enough of the chemical in pineapple that's supposed to help with implantation. Plus eating pineapple makes my mouth sore... :P

That's not to say I'm dismissing any of these, or dismissing anyone here who is using these. They just don't resonate with me. And I'm a researcher who likes to understand how things work, so if I can't find answers, I won't do it.

(Big geek - I admit it )

Our story:

Nov 2009 - laparoscopy, endometriosis removed.
Jan-July 2010 - Clomid. Nuffin.
Nov 2010- IVF attempt 1 - two embryos transferred
Dec 2010 - Positive beta
Jan 2011 - Blighted ovum sad.png
Oct 2011 - IVF attempt 2
Nov 2011 - Negative beta. Done.
Winter 2011/12 - published: http://offbeatmama.c...t-not-defective
Spring 2012 - PRIDE training
July 11, 2012 - positive HPT - WTF??!!! Natural pregnancy it seems! Approx 6.5 weeks along
July 20, 2012 - Appointment with doctor. Ultrasound - it's in there!! 7w6d along, due March 1, 2013!

This is really happening! *happydance*

February 25, 2013 - Dakota Rose arrived after a somewhat unexpected c-section. And we are so in love. :)
