In August I stopped eating junk food completely, cut back fast food by about 90%, and made a point of eating more fruit and vegetables. I don't necessarily calorie count but am calorie aware. I completely pig out at dinner and will eat just about anything on my plate times 3. I do light exercise 3 or 4 times a week. Mixed stuff. Walking, light jogging, cycling .. whatever I feel like at the time but nothing too strenuous. I never weigh myself but can attest to losing 4 inches off my waist so far. I really don't feel like I am dieting. I no longer have any interest in junk food. My body craves nothing in the evenings, whereas I used to be in and out of the fridge all of the time. I think my body is getting better nutrition and thus is satisfied and not looking for something else. I feel a lot better too.
For me, getting rid of fast food and junk food has made all the difference.
