So how do we motivate eachother? I recently joined weightwatchers online, but I am finding it too easy to cheat. I used to be able to go to meetings and I stayed on track, hardly ever veered off course. Now, I find it hard to stay on course. LOL. Removed all snacks from the house, bought a wii fit (which I have yet to consistently use), and enlisted DH's help.

I'm not sure myself. Nothing seems to be working for me. I did weight watchers online before I did IVF,but I couldn't get "into" it post baby. I got a pedometer, but that motivation for walking lasted about 2 weeks. Now I find myself eating lots of junk (blaming it on PMS), and doing little exercise. I have been thinking of getting something for the wii, but I'm not sure which one, and if I'd use it. I hear that some of them post your BMI or weight for everyone to see...something I don't want at all!

I have gone a few times to diaper/aquafit classes, but those are few and far between lately.

arghh...so frustrating...but it's my own laziness really.

I am not motivated either! I went out and bought an elliptical trainer, and now I am hanging clothes on it! I manage to do sit-ups every day and have tried hard to cut out the junk. I have lost about 5 lbs ....sighs

Hey Ladies, I will tell you what motivates me and perhaps it may give you a boost?

I have always worked out and tried to eat well. I just like the way it feels, to have lots of energy!

I swore I would never look like a mommy. Mommy clothes, mommy hair, mommy fat..ect. I always said I would look good at every age.. I just want to be the best I can be. That translate's into the other parts of your life. A confidence when you are with your partner.. you can feel sexy putting something hot on for your significant other. I don't know about you, but.. I don't feel sexy with rolls hangin off my sides. I try to set small realistic goals for myself.. it is better then setting a big goal and failing at it. Weight Watchers online has been great for me. WW keeps me thinking about what I am putting in my mouth. When I was pregnant I would just pick at anything I wanted, whenever. I had to retrain myself to watch what I was eating and when. I like the online part of WW. I don't need to go to meetings, cuz I find I have the motivation. I would rather go to the gym when I get the chance to go out.

Keep at it ladies.. we can do this :th_acheerlead:

Cheers

I'm keeping a food log and writing down what I'm eating to make sure I'm getting the right amount of carbs/protein/fruits and veggies. I find that tracking what I eat and also making sure I eat at least 4 times a day is helping. I have lost a couple of lbs so far, but I've got a long way to go.

I am finding going to the gym difficult with baby, so when Sophia takes her naps, I am doing workout videos at home. It helps motivate me because I feel like I'm doing a workout at the gym, without having to get there.

I caved and joined the gym and got a personal trainer/nutrition coach.
I am hoping to do my last FET in the fall and I want to give my 2 little embryos the best chance possible.
Seems pointless to try and loose weight only to get pregnant and gain it back again but I will do what I gotta do.
I HATE the gym but once there I do the work. My trainer comments about how I dont complain about it like others and I listen when she talks ... I figure whats the point in paying the money if your not going to follow the plan.
A big motivation for me is the feeling that I get when I leave the gym ... I feel very powerful, like I have accomplished something good.

supermom - I lost 20 lbs in the months before I got pregnant and there were a few bonuses: I had a bunch of clothes that fit for the first 4-5 months - including things like bras and swimsuits. I assume that many of them will also fit postpartum. I think it was longer before the extra pregnancy weight bothered me. I'm confident that I can get the pregnancy weight off again. I actually kind of recommend it.

I'm thinking of joining you ladies too. I haven't yet because, well, still pregnant.

Way to go everybody! I've lost 8 pounds since New Years and would love to lose 10 more by the time I start my next cycle. I'm eating 3 meals a day with 2 protein snacks. One thing that I did that has worked for me is to record the weight that I would like to be at the END of each week (I've aimed for a 2 pound weight loss each week) in my daytimer and so far it's worked. I'm also walking on the treadmill 4-5 times a week and working out on the Wii Fit a couple times a week. I'm hoping to reach my goal so that I don't have to hear the Wii Fit voice go, "Uh oh...you're overweight!" :)
Me: 40
Dx: DH: Vasectomy; need IVF/ICSI ME: D.O.R. and many immunological issues. (Initially presented as "normal" but issues were only discovered after IVF attempt #2 and #3 after testing at new clinic)
IVF attempt #1 Nov.2009, Age 37: Long "Lupron" protocol
Dec.2009: Cycle cancelled due to oversuppression
IVF attempt #2, Age 38: April 2010: 3 eggs retrieved, 2 mature, 2 fertilized, ET of 2 embryos BFN
IVF atempt #3 at new clinic: November 2010, Age 38: 5 eggs retrieved, 4 mature, 4 fertilized, ET of 2 blastocysts BFP
Strong beta numbers but babies not measuring on track but one heartbeat is present. Followup u/s reveals no HB's :( Had D&C--so sad.
Moved to new clinic closer to home + more of a focus on testing for potential immunological factors:
Further testing reveals three mutations related to inherited thrombophilia (2 MTHFR mutations and PA1-1 mutation), positive ANA, elevated NK cells and cytokines and low levels of leukocyte antibodies (LADS), Recommended Immunological treatment: Humira, LIT, IVig and blood thinners if PG
IVF Protocol: Low stim for me/ TESE needed for DH; took Humira in late August and early September; taking DHEA plus Co-Enzyme Q10, vitamins for DH just for good measure! September--two trips to Mexico for LIT treatment, treatments 3 weeks apart
Initial re-testing through Alan Beer Centre after some of the immune treatments reveals only cytokines were lowered, NKs still high and LAD numbers still low. Another LIT in Mexico is recommended. We decide to begin cycle on doctor's recommendation of just doing IVIG.
IVF#4, Age 39 : November 2011: Worst AFC EVER--a whopping 4! Three follicles responded, two eggs were retrieved. Three day transfer of two Grade 1 8 cell embryos: "Fahita" & "Burrito" Stick, stick, stick little ones!
BFP! Beta of 569
Viability u/s at 6 w 2d shows TWO babies measuring on track with heartbeats of 121. Looks like babies might be sharing the same amniotic sac.
Second u/s at 7w 2 d shows ONE baby with hb of 150, measuring 7 w 3 days. No sign of twin. Vanishing twin syndrome?

I lost 4 pounds! Yay! I am feeling a little more motivated! I asked my doctor for another referral back to the Fertility clinic, it takes so long to get going, and my ideal is to be preg by August or Sept! I really want to lose 25 pounds!! I can do it!! We all can do it!! I think I am going to start a food journal, do you guys find that helpful?

When I lost weight a couple summers ago I used fitday.com as a food journal to get started. I did it for a while, then felt I was a reasonable judge of calorie counts and portion sizes without it. Many things I eat aren't on it but I learned that, for things I made at home, I could type in all the ingredients and divide by the number of servings - clearly too much work for every day, but as I said, helpful to start.

Well, stepped on the dreaded scale, and, I lost .2 . Could be worse, I knew it was a bad week. Back on track, hopefully this week. Another bad one though, we get to go to Saskatoon tomorrow, so I will talk DH into wendy's. They have some good salads that only have 6 points, depending on how much dressing I indulge in. Really would like to be 165 by next Tuesday. By the end of February, I would like to be 158/160.

By the way, Supermom, I am the same way. I can look at food and gain two pounds? I know that is one of the reasons why on weight watchers they recommend only weighing once a week. Stops the discouragement and the flucuating(sp) numbers.
