Hi all! Well, I am down 1lb! It's not much but I'll take it! It's been pretty raining so I haven't done my usual amount of walking. Hopefully nice weather is on it's way!!

Jaan - congrats on the 2 lb loss! Way to go!!

Carey - I'm very sorry for your loss......welcome to the group!

Dana - Staying the same is fine! Good luck with your surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery! You just might lose a few lbs during your hospital stay. I know how bad the food can be.

Andiy- Welcome!

If anyone has any good (and easy) slow-cooker recipes I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Jenna :flowers:

Hi Jan,

Congrtas on the 2lb you lost!

Andiy,

Thanks. I really don't want the surgery, but my RE thinks that getting my tubes out will give me a baby. My tubes are filled with fluid thats toxic to embryos. I have a lot of scar tissue, so RE said he was not sure if he can get them out, so I am hoping he'll be able to, instead of just clipping them. Does this make sense?

Dana-thanks for sharing with us, I have heard of that fluid in the tubes, will you cycle without surro after the surgery?

Jenna-WTG 1lb!!! I'll add it to the list

Crockpot recipes I will look, my mom makes a crockpot chicken breasts that are sooooo good, it has cream of celery soup, shredded carrots, potatoes, and it is so goo but I'm not sure how long you cook it for.

I'm managing to stay op with ww & have learned with flex points you get an extra 35points a week

Jaan - Yes, you do get the 35 Flex Points every week but, in my own personal experience, it will take much longer to lose weight if you use them all the time. You may find that you only go down a few points of a pound on the weeks that you use them. The other thing that I have noticed is that you need to watch how many 0 point foods you eat in a day. For example, if you eat 1 cup of carrots at lunch, that's 0 points, but then you eat another cup of carrots at supper for 0 points. If you were to figure out the points value for 2 cups of carrots, it's actually 1 point. Does that make sense? I mean, if the 2 cups of carrots were the only 0 point foods you had eaten that day, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. It's when you eat alot of 0 pointers in one day that you need to be careful. Other than that, I love WW Flex. I've already lost 15 lbs since starting it 12 weeks ago. And I had done it a few years back and lost 60 lbs on it. (I don't know why I didn't stick with it then) Good luck with it, and if you like soup, make the WW recipe. I love it if I'm really hungry at supper but don't have many points left, it's a great appetizer.

Jenna - sorry, no slow cooker recipes. If I hear of any, I'll let you know, though.

Hi Jan,

Well, we do have a surro, but this IVF cycle is not with a surro. If I don't get pg we'll go with a TS. It will be her egg and womb, and my DH's sperm. DH really wants me to become pg and so do I, but having a baby is more important, so it doesn't matter how I get a baby as long as I get one or two. My RE said that our chances of becoming pg will increase by 50% once the tubes are out. I hope to cycle in July/Aug

We don't know what we are doing yet. We have really just started on the whole long road. I am hoping that the Dr will give us more insight as to what to expect in July, he didn't want to make any recommendations (except for ways to possibly get DH's counts higher) until he has all of our tests done. He did say that, if he can't get the counts up, we will be going with ICSI, which we were fully prepared for. I'm trying to be patient as there are so many of you who have been through so much more and have been waiting for your miracles for so much longer, but I'm not a naturally patient person when I want something. Being able to discuss things with the wonderful people on this board, and to read about the cycles, etc has been a big help for me.

Andiy-I agree about the flex points I guess that's why I was so surprised because 35 is alot. I'm happy at 2lbs a wk loss.

Dana-50% is great stats!!! I hope this is it for you july is just around the corner.

My waffles & bacon were really good when I ate it but now I feel yucky  I think it was a bit of shock to the system eating the greasy bacon. We are going to friends for supper on sat chinese food but I have no desire for greasy chicken balls, I'm actually looking forward to some broth soup & steamed veggies with maybe some shrimp nothing battered though. I will be skipping the eggrolls too.

I am super happy tommorow is friday this past week has been exhausting :zz:

Hi Andrea,

I hear you on being impatient. I also wish things would move faster, but I guess all we can do is just take it one day at a time. And, if infertility don't makes us have patience, I don't know what else can. Like Jan said to me July is just around the corner and I hope you get moving fast after your follow up appt. Some of us have been through a little more than others, but we are all in the same boat. Can't wait to follor your journey!

Jan, Yes, 50% is a lot. I think right now I have 20-30% chance of becoming pg, so once tubes are out it will be like 70-80%, which is pretty good.

So, how is everyone doing with their dieting?

Hugs,

How did we all make out over the weekend? I didn't do so well. I couldn't seem to get enough food in me this weekend, so I am starting fresh today. We will see what the scale says tomorrow morning.

Hi Ladies,

My weight today is 208.4. So I am headed in the right direction. I am just off for 6 days with my DH to the city to do some things for him, and he has a work commitment, a banquet. So will talk when I am back.

Lost 4.6 pounds.

Carey - That's awesome!!!! 4.6 lbs??? Wow, you are superwoman. Have fun with DH.

As for me, I was doing really good on my Weight Watchers until this weekend. Ooops. But, I still managed to come down 1.5 lbs. I'm good with that, I've lost most of my weight already, so I don't mind it being slow and steady now.

How did everyone else make out this week?

Hi ladies!

Well, I have been quite neglectful of myself this week......not much exercising was done. I did, however, manage to not gain but stay the same. I thought for sure when I got on the scale I was going to see a huge gain so I was happy, in a way, to see the same number as last week. It's crazy how easy it is to put your needs on the back burner and take care of everybody else first. My boys were sick with colds again and dh has been really busy with work which means I don't get the support/help I may need. It's just been a really hectic, crazy week!

Congrats Carey on your HUGE loss! That's awesome!!
Andrea - 1.5 is great!! Slow and steady is the best way to go! Keep it up!

Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing!

Jenna

Jenna - We all have those weeks. At least you managed to maintain. That's great. I hope you have a great week and are able to focus on you again for a bit. I think we have lost some of our other dieters.

I think that Dana is in for surgery now. There is a topic under chit chat for people wishing to send their support to her right now. I think that is a wonderful idea.

Hi Girls...I've been MIA lately. On Thursday I bit the bullet and walked into weight watchers and joined. I am paying weekly. I have done weight watchers before and did really well on it....it was sad though....I was 3 lbs heavier than the last time I joined. :icon_cry: I need to be accountable to make me stick to my points. I am always good during the week....it's the dreaded weekend that kills me. So, I figured by weighing in on a Thursday/Friday then it will motivate me to behave on the weekends. I did use about 8 flex points last night on a Mars bar :wall: and a billy stick licorice (I figured the licorice was 2 pts.) I have been doing 45 mins of walking a day and will throw in some more intense treadmill workouts next week. I'll let you know how it goes when I weigh in next Thursday or Friday. Marty :flowers:

Dana - That's great!!!! You're husband sounds hilarious. Are you feeling good after the surgery? I hope this is what you needed in order to succeed and that it is your turn soon.

Well, I had a horrible week and am up 1 lb. But that's okay, I've started walking again this week and keeping track of my points. Hopefully I can stick with it this week without too many distractions.

Hi Marty. I am on Weight Watchers too. I agree about having to be accountable to someone for weigh ins. I tried doing the program online, but I need the meetings. G/L
