Hello ladies,

I am new to this site. My fertility journey goes something like this:

I am 31 and husband 36

Started TTC in August 2013. Since then I have had 3 missed miscarriages between 6-8 weeks.  I had 2 D&C's for the first 2, and used misoprostol for the most recent M/C.

2 sonos ruled out any anatomical issues with my uterus. Periods are regular and hormones are all normal. Genetic testing came back all normal. DS has slightly low sperm count but nothing to be too concerned about according to the doctors.

I recently started seeing Dr. Virro who has pretty much given us 2 options:

1) go ahead with immune testing (3000-5000$)

2) IVF with PGS

We are confused as to how to proceed from here.  He is recommending IVF with pgs first but to me it makes sense to have all the immune testing done to see if there is an issue before jumping into a very costly procedure like IVF.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and can share their experience?

Dr. Virro says I have "lots of time" but I would rather not go through another miscarriage if I can potentially avoid it.  Any thoughts/advice?

Thanks

I also had repeat miscarriages. I did have some immune testing and all was fine - we made the decision to do CCS (PGS) testing on our next round of IVF and it was the answer for us as I'm currently 31 weeks. Best of luck and I hope you have success in your journey!

Wow,thanks for your reply jenpen.  You've definitely had a long fertility journey but congratulautions on your pregnancy! You must be ecstatic!

In your opinion should I do immune testing before diving into IVF with PGS? It's alot of money to run all the tests but I'm worried I will miscarry after IVF and regret not doing some immune testing first.

Also, what is involved in the immune testing? I know its bloodwork but anything else? And how long did you wait to get your immune test results back?

Thanks

best of luck to you
