Hi ladies! I just wanted to share my story with hopes it could help someone else!
I did IVF in Dec 2013 and had a beautiful 10.5mm triple stripe lining. That IVF was successful but we lost our son at 23 week due to birth defects. I had a d&e and then 6 months later scar tissue was found during my saline infused sonogram so I had a hysteroscopy to remove it.
Fast forward to January this year we attempted to do a FET however my lining just would not thicken! It only went from 5mm to 5.72mm in 5 days after they doubled my Estrace! There was also fluid in my uterus and also free fluid outside my uterus. My clinic stared me on Viagra and my lining did get to 6.78-7mm but it just did not look great and because of the way things progressed the cycle was cancelled.
Everyone assumed that my lining was damaged from either the d&e or that the tissue that remained in me from conception for 6 months caused an infection and damaged my lining...needless to say I was TERRIFIED that damage was permanent.
My clinic said they wanted to do monthly lining checks between days 14-16 to monitor my lining and see how fast it was healing as they wanted 3 good scans before I could reschedule. My first lining check was March 4th as it took 5.5 weeks to start my period.
TO MY SUPRISE.....My lining was NORMAL! Well it was 7mm but I had not even ovulated yet (ovulated3 days later) so it was still growing!!! Apparently ONE PERCENT of women do not absorb forms of estrogen other than their own!!! So.....I don't have a lining issue after all!
I see a lot of women who only have good linings during a fresh cycle and a major cause for that!!!
The only downside to me is that our clinic is out of the county and we now have to do a "natural" frozen embryo transfer cycle and you can't book anything in advance because there's no way to plan on when you start a period and ovulate so when we book our next trip we won't book it until day 1 of my cycle and then we would leave about 16 ish days later.
