Hi all,

I just wanted to say hello. I just found this board. I'm almost 38. TTC for 2 years. 3 failed IUI's. First appointment is in a few weeks at a local clinic. Have a tentative appointment with a clinic participating in the IVY study and if we're not qualified, thinking of going to Barbados or Cancun for treatment to save money. That's my biggest concern at this point is trying not to drain our bank accounts. Does anyone have experience going abroad or even out of state? It's hard not to obsess over lab tests and what you find online because, for some reason, labs are different even in the states!

Hi Kerika, I just joined this board as well! I am also 38 and have been TTC for 6 years. I have had 2 failed ivf's and 3 failed iui's'. I don't have any experience or going information about going abroad but I just wanted to say good luck to you:) I will be starting my 3rd and final ivf, as we can't afford anymore of these treatments and I am so nervous but trying to stay positive. I hope things work out for you!

Hi there,

I'm new here as well. DH and I have a consult in a few weeks to start the ball rolling to do IVF. Tried 1 round of IUI knowing that it wouldn't work. Not sure why! Anyway, I cannot comment on doing IVF outside of Canada, but I've been doing some research and we guys should really read up on http://www.cra-arc.g...-eng.html#p1.20. You can claim your IVF expenses as a medical expense. Obviously, not all expenses would be covered but better than nothing. For me, both my husband and I are on the same insurance plan through work and the meds would pretty much be covered.

I am new to this site as well. I am 37 and have been TTC for 7 years. We just had our IVF orientation at the Kelowna clinic and will be heading there in late March before going to Vancouver's Olive clinic for the egg retrieval. We are trying CCS and will go back to Vancouver in early May for the transfer. We hope the extra cost will mean good results faster! The Kelowna and Olive clinics have no waiting once you get going , which is great.

Has anyone else considered CCS?

Hi everyone! First time here for me too. I'm 51 and about to have my first IVF with donor eggs. Both my donor (unknown) and I are on BCP at the moment. I go in next week to sign the paperwork, pay $$$$, and receive my cycle calendar. I've got two older boys (23 & 20). I'm in my second marriage to a much younger man (31) who has no children. Can't wait to get started. I'm very nervous though. I just want it to work!

Good luck Alabama Mom! Fingers crossed for a successful cycle!
It was long, awful & hard. We got very lucky and didn't run out of both emotional and financial resources. We saw some of the most beautiful of people in our lowest moments. Baby Girl arrived Apr 10/2018
