We're considering a FET sometime this spring and I'm nervous about starting this whole process again- emotionally and physically. What have your experiences been with protocols and outcomes? Does it interfere much with "daily life" and how many apointments are typically involved? Thanks!

Hi Happywishes.

I'm just starting the FET process today, here's what mine looks like.

Birth control 21 days, start suprefact on last day of BC and wait for your period to start, contact them on CD1.

**suprefact is continued until progesterone is started

CD2 Jan 9 - bloodwork and ultrasound to make sure your hormones and ovaries are at rest.

From Jan 9 - 17 I rub estrogel on 2 limbs 2 times a day, I've already done this today and it's easy just press your pump once per limb and rub it in, it dries quickly....it reminded me of rubbing hand sanitizer on my arms.

I have another ultrasound/bloodwork on Jan 15

Jan 18&19 I do 1 application to 4 limbs 2 times a day

Jan 20 I do 1 application on 4 limbs 3 times a day until I start progesterone (projected to be Jan 24)

Jan 24 another ultrasound/bloodwork

Jan 24, 25 & 26 vaginal progesterone

Jan 27 progesterone intramuscular (in the bum)

Jan 28 "

Jan 29 " (date of transfer)

Jan 30 "

restart vaginal progesterone on Jan 31 and continue until 12 weeks of pregnancy.

The meds are lot cheaper this time, I got all my meds minus the endometrin at Costco for 49$.

It's so much easier than a fresh cycle.

Oh I forgot to mention...

with my fresh cycle I didn't work while stimming or after my transfer until my beta.

with this FET I will work right up until transfer and take from transfer to beta off

so for me a lot less time off which will be easier on my bank account

We just did a natural/unmedicated FET, meaning... We did ovulation surge kits starting around cycle day 8, (you buy them at the grocery) and called the clinic when we got a faint positive for a surge, had an ultrasound and bloodwork the next day, to verify ovulation was going to happen and check lining, took a trigger shot that night, then another ultrasound/bloodwork 5 days later, to check on lining thickness... Then transfer the following day. :) That was it!

No hormones! And we were successful! 7wks5days along right now, although we did end up adding Crinone after our beta bloodwork showed the progesterone was on the low side a couple weeks into pregnancy.

Good luck!
