Can anyone help me with timing for FET - I will be doing lupron supression a week before next expected period followed by 21 days of estrace (after my period starts?) and then prometrium (?) injections.

I call in CD1 this month to get the ball rolling on booking the supression shot.

I am wondering about the finer details - does estrace normally start after the period?  I would imagine it does.

I'm thinking with a 30-35 day cycle this could even push me to a March transfer.

Additionally - when did clinics have you pay your fees - at CD1 of the first precycle month or CD1 of the transfer cycle?  I imagine it's CD1 of the first one not the transfer cycle...

Soon- I was on bcp for 19 days, overlapped the last 3 of those days with lupron, AF arrived 6 days later, continued to take lupron for 16 more days. Started estrogen 5 days after AF arrived. Didn't start progesterone until 5 days before transfer. 😃

Yvonne and Soon:  Haha, thanks for making me feel better about the HPT.

Soon:  Did AF show her face yet?  Ugh, she never seems to show up when we want her too!

Beachlover:  Yes, that last FET was crazy.  Hope I don't have one in the tube and one in the uterus again.  What are the friggen' chances?? If my lining check goes well, I'm set to transfer on either Feb 2 or 3.  How about you?  Do you have a date yet?  And, in the end did you decide to leave your frosties down south or did you transfer them?

Elephantshoes:  We cycled together back in Sept.  Welcome to the group.  Wish you weren't here :(  Sorry your last cycle wasn't successful.  Hope this one sticks it out for the long run.

Krista:  How are the headaches?  Mine have gone away, but I've had to double my water intake so now I'm peeing all the time :)

Still no AF.  Awful headache yesterday that drove me to doing an HPT - still negative.  Was hoping for a GOOD reason for being so sick but nothing...

Such a long time waiting.  Wondering if I should go in to get something to get this cycle started... I'm either CD 29 if you count the bleed i had a week after egg retrieval, OR i'm cd 47 if you don't.  I'm normally about a 31-35 day cycle so this is strange.

Has anyone had to get their period started with medications prior to cycling?

Why wouldn't you count the bleed after egg retrieval? On my freeze all cycle, I went off the progesterone and got a bleed pretty much a week later so it would not surprise me if that reset your cycle and therefore you'd be at CD29 today.

I believe Superfora is correct.

s00n - were you taking estrace and progesterone when you did your freeze all?  If so, then the drop in hormones by stopping the progesterone would have signaled to your body that you weren't pregnant.  This would in theory kick start a period.  So yes, I would count it as a period (albeit small) and count from there onwards.

That's why they tell you to keep taking the progesterone even if you get a bfn on a pee stick until they confirm to with a blood test because they don't want you to accidentally stop supporting your embryo's growth.  Low/no progesterone tells your body there's nothing there.  When I had my chemical, I didn't start to bleed until I stopped the drugs - l was sent all over kingdom come to rule out an etopic - I finally said to the receptionist, can't I just stop the drugs and see if I bleed on my own?  Low and behold, nature took it's course.

It's so frustrating when all you want to do is get started.  After my huge long-winded post, there's also no harm in calling your clinic to ask.  You wouldn't be the first! :)

Great! Such a good feeling to start moving on.

I took my depot lupron shot today, now I sit and wait for 20 days before starting estrace. If there is one thing I've learned on this journey it's how to sit and wait...

Superfora, we'll be right in line then.  I'm going for my shot this afternoon.  I thought I'd be starting estrace in a week, but I wish they'd just WRITE things down when they're briefing me, rather than me relying on MY notes. :/

Did your DH have to go, to learn how to give you shots too?  Mine has to go, so that he's ready for giving me the progesterone shots.  Exciting times. :)

Oh I know, when I first talked to the RE I absolutely thought it was only a week until estrace. Nope! Let's hope this Lupron shot isn't the worst thing in the world in terms of side effects.

Do you know how many you are transferring?

I give myself the shots. DH gives them to me on the weekend if I ask him but our work schedules are not super compatible during the week so I do it myself. It really freaked me out at first, the needles are long and thick and I won't lie it was horrible the last time. Because I had such a late miscarriage I ended up taking the shots for like 8 weeks, developed a horrible allergy to them so this time I am using a different oil and hoping that makes the difference.

We are able to figure out the schedule so far - I'd be ok giving them (although I'm sure my hand would hesitate a good bit).

I can't believe how long this process takes.

The depot Lupron shot today was almost $500. For a shot. Holy moly. Some reason it went through on both plans, so it's covered. :) but one shot? That kind of blows my mind.

Nurse warned of headaches and night sweats.

I noticed PIO is in sesame oil. What is your new one in?

Superfora- how long will you take the estrace?
I don't find out when it starts till I call in my next period. Then they time things backwards from a weekday transfer.

My lupron depot was $440 - also covered thankfully.

I will be on estrace for 10 days before they do a lining check. From there we'll see if I need more days and how many. I think my nurse said typically it's like 12 days? I am doing oral estrace so it may be different if you do shots or patches. I don't have to wait for my period, I just start estrace on Jan 26th.

My first PIO was in cottonseed oil, I will take sesame oil this time. I was hoping for olive oil (on the advice of my allergist) but they don't have it and I'd have to go to a special compounding pharmacy which would be inconvenient so I am hoping the sesame oil does the trick.

One word of advice - they will probably give you 18 gauge needles. You can totally inject with smaller needles (I think it worked for me with 22 gauge) but I had to draw out the oil with the 18 gauge from the vial, then switch to 22 gauge for the injection. I did this for my IVF #2 for 5 days before we had to do a freeze all and it was SO MUCH better. Ask your nurse.  :)

Oh my goodness you are so right about needles. My pharmacy automatically gives you the 2 needle sizes, which is awesome because the drawing ones are ridiculous.

I'm now on the wait again for my period.

All the best to those on drugs and those waiting for them. :)

I've had two FET's...for the second they offered to refresh my 'injection' knowledge which I turned down believing that I am now an expert in 'all things needle' related.

The morning of my first PIO shot for my second FET, I tried to draw up the PIO but was using the 22 gauge instead of the 18 (which is what you're supposed to use).  I thought the needle was broken and started to set into an angry panic because I couldn't get the PIO into the needle.  After much tinkering and cursing I finally had gotten enough PIO into the needle...then switched to the 18 gauge (wrong)....handed it off to my husband.....at which point he said 'this needle looks awfully big'...and I just laughed at how he didn't know anything....YEOWCH!  Oops.  Learned that lesson and will never repeat.

That said, even using a smaller gauge needle after 2 or 3 shots on the same side, my butt starts to permanently ache.  It hurts, it's itchy.  Oh well.  We do what we need to do.

So excited to hear that some of you have started already!

Now that my period has shown up, and if I calculate my 'suprefact period' due date....looks like I'll be transferring in March now.  Ah well. Best of luck to the upcoming February ladies!

Meary...I see you are at RFP too! My AF only arrived on Sunday so you should only be a few days behind me. Stay around the group! I will be late February I think :)
I called the clinic today to see when they will be calling...I am not a patient person. They said they would be calling in the 14th if I am offered a cycle, but since I was last month I shouldnt worry.. Not the answer I was hoping for but at least I know not to wait by the phone until the 14th!

ES- I almost laughed out loud. But I also realize that I will likely do it to myself if I do indeed laugh. So I'm very sorry that happened. I'm sure you're not alone.

Hi ladies! Can I join? This is my fourth!!!!! FET and I'm using my remaining two embryos. I already have stuff in the works for another fresh if history repeats itself. I'm surprisingly hopeful . I'm doing an endometrial biopsy this cycle as well to switch things up.

Now that my period has shown up, and if I calculate my 'suprefact period' due date....looks like I'll be transferring in March now.  Ah well. Best of luck to the upcoming February ladies!

Meary I'll be close to March too... Stay 😊❤️

Hello again Bug88! Sorry to see you here again, but glad you're feeling hopeful :)

I've started estrace, synarel, aspirin and prednisone. Thankfully that horrific headache has gone, but I've become super emotional since starting estrace. Anyone else with me on this one? Although it could just be the whole process I suppose....

We also had our 16 frozen embryos biopsied for genetic testing....waiting to see if there is a normal one or two in there. Fingers crossed!

I'm really trying hard to keep my stress levels low for this cycle. I'm doing yoga, acupuncture, etc and trying to keep my workload low.
Take care everyone!

Wish you weren't here sad.png  Sorry your last cycle wasn't successful.  Hope this one sticks it out for the long run.

Krista:  How are the headaches?  Mine have gone away, but I've had to double my water intake so now I'm peeing all the time smile.png

Hi to everyone else!

Loo - Praying that won't happen again!! Like you said - what are the chances?? As long as everything goes well- my transfer is Feb 10 - hoping nothing changes. We right now have decided to leave them - there are so many risks - I would like to have one more baby for sure before I move them and chance losing them - so off we go again to Cancun - but Cancun is becoming very expensive so its becoming a harder trip to take. So I'm praying praying praying  this one is viable….
