I realize that dr Johnston is new. Im just wondering what your experience has been with her for those that have seen her. Are wait times just as long with her?

I have not seen her, but she is likely just taking on the patients that Dr K and Dr Elliot left. It may make an appt time come quicker but it won't move you up any sooner on the Ivf wait list.

I've met herand she's nice enough but seeing her will not speed up the ivf/iui process, doesn't matter which dr you get there you'll go in the pile like everyone else. We started our process in July of last year, tooka bit to get things in place to get our name on the list, we cycles end of dec/jan for the first time
Me 35, DH 39, DS 1-18, DS 2-16, m/c July 1999 and Oct 2015, failed reversal. See about me page for history.

HL has a very long list lined up for IVF. I talked to one of the nurse today and she said right now there is 124 waiting for their next year 's cycle not counted the people that are currently cycling until December this year. If you put yourself on the list now you will end up in a summer cycle.
Me - 35, blocked tubes both removed, endo, scar tissues, DOR
Dh - 33 healthy

IVF # 1 -January 2014, Antagonist protocol 150iu menopur, 150iu bravelle.

4 retrieved 3 ICSI and fertilized 1 not useable.

Transferred 2 3day embryos 1 with fragmentation 1 perfect cell.
(1 embryo made to a 6 day blast and were frozen).

Beta result BFN

March - transferred frozen embryo - BFN

Planning to switch to VFC but also on a list for a surgery to remove both tubes. The wait for surgery is 4 to 6 months ugh! Made a consultation appointment with Dr. H. Consultation scheduled in AugustSurgery done in July.
Decided to stay in the same clinic. Cancelled appointment with VFC.

IVF # 2September 2014, Marvelon for 35 days, antibiotics for 14 days and aspirin 81

antagonist protocol 150iu and 300iu menopur

Retrieved 8, only 4 are useable and ICSI'd. 2 were fertilized.

Transferred both on day 3 but very poor quality 1 highly fragmented 1 eight cell.

AF showed up 7 days after transfer.
Beta result- BFN heart broken.

Moving on to VFC.
Consultation date is December 18, 2014

Took vitamin supplements, DHEA and Green Smoothies everyday. As advised by Dr. H after consultation.

VFC - February/March 2015

IVF #3 - Gonal F300,Repronex 150,suprefact.

Retrieved 8, 6 Fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, transferred 1 day 5 blast grade 18, 2 were frozen.

March 20, beta result PREGNANT.

I put my name on the list just incase I do decide to cycle with HL again. She said I was 125 on the list. And that my next cycle looks like it would be March or April. Seems so long considering I just had a failed cycle and this will be #3 try for me. Wish they would do something to help repeat couples cycling.

Greetings!! Just an update, Dr Johnston is no longer affiliated with Heartland effective December 15th, 2016. I managed to see her on her last day. She will be based out of Winnipeg Clinic. She was amazing during our initial stages of fertility screening and will be undergoing a diagnostic laparoscopy to see if any scar tissue from my previous open appendectomy is blocking any tubes etc. She performed my HSG in October and my tubes were patent(open) and uterus normal. DH sperm analysis/swim up test came out with great numbers(albeit being a diabetic) even Dr Johnston was flabbergasted.
