Went for an u/s today to check on the follicles. Things look good and we will go back on Saturday for another one.
Everyone here at the clinic is so nice and it's smaller than HL but it's more like a little family. There aren't a lot of people there all at the same time. Very nice. They are hoping for ER to be next week. Wednesday or Thursday! Super pumped and looking forward to it.
I had a dream last night about my friend who passed away. I believe that he is here with me at times and is looking out for me and helping us on this journey.

I think I have about 10 follicles.......I'm really not too sure lol. It's been a whirlwind here! Dr Hudson is amazing! I love him! I have not me Larissa but I've met Tammy and Leigh and they are both pretty awesome! Thanks for the well wishes. I will keep you all posted!

Got 15!!!' That's so much better than the 3 I got last time! Dr. Hudson is the most amazing doctor ever. I want to take him home with me.
Now all we have to do is see how they fertilize! It should be good because they were good last time so why would this time be any different.

What's nice about VFC is that they call you in the morning to tell you your fertilization report. There's no waiting till after 2 like HL. Sending you all positive vibes!!!!!!

Sammy - That is great that you got so many!
We are also here in Victoria, just starting. I have almost double the follicles I ever had with HL. My protocol is so different. I didn't have any Superfact and am on 300 Gonel F, 150 Repronex and Cetrotide. I am older in this whole fertility thing and I was on so much Superfact and BCP with HL that I only got 4 and now I have 7. I hope more pop up but I was thrilled with 7.

1st IVF at HL - BCP, Suprefact, 300 iu Menopur, 150 iu Bravelle. 4 eggs retrieved. 3 day transfer of 2 embryos - BFN (no frosties).
Consult with VFC. Dr.H said my TSH is too high for pregnancy. Prescribed Synthroid. Dr. H asked I go dairy/gluten free.
2nd IVF at VFC - BCP, 300 Gonel-F, 150 iu Reprnex, Centrotide. 13 eggs retrieved. 3 day transfer of 3 embryos - BFP! (3 frosties). On PIO, estrace, Medrol, ASA, Vit D and pre-natal Vit. 7 week u/s shows 1 baby! EDD Sept 2015. 10 week u/s. Baby measuring on track. 168 hb/m. Still can't believe this is real.💕 baby girl born September 2015 ❤️

We set up a consult with SIRM in Illinois. While doing research on clinics I found a video contest they were doing, while we didn't get picked they have offered a 15% discount to those that entered and a consult I think is always free. So Jan 2 we'll be talking with a Dr there. On their site they talk about the importance of sperm capacitation and put them through a special culture before using them for icsi. This can be a problem when using extracted sperm and sure would be nice to use. We also have friends just a few hours away so we wouldn't have the lodging cost.
Now fx we manage to get the money together.
I wish you Sammy and wpg girl the very very best!!

Dh - 33 healthy
IVF # 1 -January 2014, Antagonist protocol 150iu menopur, 150iu bravelle.
4 retrieved 3 ICSI and fertilized 1 not useable.
Transferred 2 3day embryos 1 with fragmentation 1 perfect cell.
(1 embryo made to a 6 day blast and were frozen).
Beta result BFN
March - transferred frozen embryo - BFN
Planning to switch to VFC but also on a list for a surgery to remove both tubes. The wait for surgery is 4 to 6 months ugh! Made a consultation appointment with Dr. H. Consultation scheduled in AugustSurgery done in July.
Decided to stay in the same clinic. Cancelled appointment with VFC.
IVF # 2September 2014, Marvelon for 35 days, antibiotics for 14 days and aspirin 81
antagonist protocol 150iu and 300iu menopur
Retrieved 8, only 4 are useable and ICSI'd. 2 were fertilized.
Transferred both on day 3 but very poor quality 1 highly fragmented 1 eight cell.
AF showed up 7 days after transfer.
Beta result- BFN heart broken.
Moving on to VFC.

Wpg Girl - that's so exciting to hear! I as well am on a different protocol than at HL. This is part of what helped me make the decision to come out here! So glad you are liking it! Any ideas on when your ER will be?
Got the lab report this morning. They were able to fertilize 14 and of those 10 fertilized properly! So now we wait until tomorrow to find out more!

I agree Pearljam, I feel sorry to those still cycling at HL. They will go through bankruptcy and heartache like we all did. My whole year of ivf treatment at HL was like a nightmare that I don't even want to remember and look back.

Well it looks like we are doing a day 5 transfer! I think this is good because the quality of embryo will be better! We have 4 grade 19 a few at 18 and 16 and 15s! Looking good so far!
I'm still in quite a bit of pain from the ER but it's getting better each day. I haven't been taking anything for it because honestly I forgot I could! Going to get some Tylenol today and hope that helps!

Sammy- that's great you have such great quality embryos and will have a 5 day transfer. Are they putting 1 or 2 back in?
Pearljam - good luck with Illinois and you are right I think HL is 'lucky' to get a few people pregnant.
Kysha - I can't wait for you to cycle here. The staff at VFC are amazing!
Cutie - My retrieval will likely be Wednesday or Thursday.
Fuelgirl -I'm sorry you got HL's infamous speech "You will never be parents so get a pet or travel". There are others who got that speech and had success at other clinics. HL should really just say, "We've done everything we can here, maybe you should try somewhere else". What really breaks my heart is the people who stopped trying after getting this speech because had they gone somewhere else in more capable hands, maybe they would have had a baby (OE, DE, surrogacy ect.).
AFM I had another ultrasound today and Dr. Hudson was able to see 10 follicles! Super excited to be 40+ years old with that many. I think he was surprised and he credited that in part to the gluten/dairy free diet that he asked me to do. Although I think his protocol has been amazing, especially not to be on Suprefact.
Anyways, back on Monday for another ultrasound.

Consult with VFC. Dr.H said my TSH is too high for pregnancy. Prescribed Synthroid. Dr. H asked I go dairy/gluten free.
2nd IVF at VFC - BCP, 300 Gonel-F, 150 iu Reprnex, Centrotide. 13 eggs retrieved. 3 day transfer of 3 embryos - BFP! (3 frosties). Fuel girl - don't give up! Keep checking things out. Trust me the best decision that we made was switching to VFC!

Only 9 are progressing but that is so much better than 3! I don't ever remember HL telling us the grades of our embryos. Just that they were doing well and doing a day 3 transfer. Which looking back at now I think was a bad decision.
Not sure how many they are going to transfer. I suppose we won't know that until Monday when we go in for the transfer!
So excited and feeling so hopeful about this. I think we have better embryo quality this time around.

Well transfer is set for tomorrow at 10am! So excited and a little nervous! Planning on going to sit by the ocean after the transfer to relax and help those little eggs stick!
Wpg girl - keep us posted after your u/s on Monday! Hopefully things are progressing smoothly!

Dh - 33 healthy
IVF # 1 -January 2014, Antagonist protocol 150iu menopur, 150iu bravelle.
4 retrieved 3 ICSI and fertilized 1 not useable.
Transferred 2 3day embryos 1 with fragmentation 1 perfect cell.
(1 embryo made to a 6 day blast and were frozen).
Beta result BFN
March - transferred frozen embryo - BFN
Planning to switch to VFC but also on a list for a surgery to remove both tubes. The wait for surgery is 4 to 6 months ugh! Made a consultation appointment with Dr. H. Consultation scheduled in AugustSurgery done in July.
Decided to stay in the same clinic. Cancelled appointment with VFC.
IVF # 2September 2014, Marvelon for 35 days, antibiotics for 14 days and aspirin 81
antagonist protocol 150iu and 300iu menopur
Retrieved 8, only 4 are useable and ICSI'd. 2 were fertilized.
Transferred both on day 3 but very poor quality 1 highly fragmented 1 eight cell.
AF showed up 7 days after transfer.
Beta result- BFN heart broken.
Moving on to VFC.
Consultation date is December 18, 2014
Took vitamin supplements, DHEA and Green Smoothies everyday. As advised by Dr. H after consultation.
VFC - February/March 2015
IVF #3 - Gonal F300,Repronex 150,suprefact.
Retrieved 8, 6 Fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, transferred 1 day 5 blast grade 18, 2 were frozen.
March 20, beta result PREGNANT.

Well I'm PUPO!! Transfer was a success and Dr h was really happy with the quality! Just one transferred and if it's unsuccessful then they will do 2 next time. Have 2 maybe 4 to freeze!
Now for the dreaded 2ww which should go by fast with Christmas in there!

I have my wtf appt at HL on the 22nd. Also will be taking our forms to have our files transferred to VFC that day.

You will NOT be disappointed cdngirl! It's been the best experience ever. Way better than HL. Better embryo quality, 5 day transfer, fantastic after care! Like today after the transfer I was told to lay in the procedure room for 10 minutes. Then we went into our own private room and layed for another hour or so and Dr H did acupuncture. It's just so much better! You won't be disappointed. Keep us posted about your wtf appt!
