The London thread is pretty dead. Looking for some buddies that will be cycling here soon or past ladies with any words of wisdom.

I love my doctor (Dr.Caines) although I didn't have a positive for my first cycle, I don't think I would go anywhere else.

I'm done with cycling, but just wanted to wish you the best of luck.  I did all of my cycles at LHSC with Dr. Feyles.  I had many many negatives, but have 3 beautiful children to show for it.  LHSC is great, I am so greatful to them and the care I received there.  Don't be discouraged by not being successful at first.  If there is anything I can answer for you, I will be happy to.  All the best!

Thanks Alison! Congrats on the three babes. I've heard great things about Dr.Feyles.

Trying to go into the next cycle as prepared and positive as I can be although that's very hard sometimes.

I'll definitely take you up on the offer if any questions come up.

RFree83 - good luck to you! When are you doing your next cycle?

I've been with LHSC for several years so have gotten to know all of the REs there pretty well (though my own RE was Dr Power, who has recently retired, so now I'm with Dr Vilos). I agree that LHSC is a great clinic (though I am probably biased a little, since it was via their help that my DH and I were successful in having our miracle daughter in 2013!)

I especially like how each patient has their own nurse case manager with whom they may communicate. (I have Monica, and she is fantastic!). If you have any concerns or questions, make use of your nurse case manager as much as possible!

Not sure if things have changed, but in the past, Commissioners Pharmacy had the best prices for medications.

If you have any questions, I am also happy to help!

Take care!

Hi Faith&hope!
Monica is my nurse as well. She's great. I called crying and a mess after the first cycle and she was so sweet although I'm sure she thought I was a bit crazy.
I've had Dr.Vilos for most of my ultrasounds and for my transfer.
I'm hoping to cylcle September 20ish. I may have to sit this one out because a vacation is smack in the middle of day 3 but you never know. I've used commisioners pharmacy last cycle and was very happy with them.

Are you still doing treatments/cycles with Dr.Vilos?

Good luck in September, RFree83!!

Yes, Monica is amazing (I'm sure she didn't think you're crazy - they must be used to the whole range of emotions involved with infertility!)

As for cycling again, yes, we were planning on starting a new fresh cycle in the next month.........we last saw Dr. Power in April and had things planned for a cycle sometime in Aug or Sept.....but totally unexpectedly (and it's still mind-boggling how it could have even happened given our diagnoses), while I was waiting to call in my next day 1 and then start the bcp for our next cycle, I got a BFP!

We have both been on Coenyzme Q10 for the past 3 months, and I've also been on DHEA (for my DOR),and somehow, we managed to conceive spontaneously (when we never have before in 4 years of TTC). Still can't believe it, so am cautiously optimistic.

The clinic has been great - even though I haven't started cycling yet (and was just on CoQ10 and DHEA but no other active treatment), they brought me in to do some betas on Fri/Sun this past week, and now have arranged for a viability/dating ultrasound scheduled for Aug 28.

So, we haven't actually met Dr. Vilos yet but he will be there at our ultrasound.

Hi Ladies,

Congratulations Faith&Hope! That's the best possible news you could get.

I too go to LHSC. I am with Dr. Rebel and have just started priming yesterday for my first IVF cycle. When I read some of the posts on this site, I feel like a lost and confused idiot lol. I guess I am a rookie who still has lots to learn.

Just thought I would introduce myself and wish everyone luck :)

Most of the things I've read about the scratch is that it just feels like a pinch and it's over pretty quickly. Can you take anything beforehand?

Just waiting too. I was supposed to start stimulation next week but the timing is not working out, so October it is. I hate waiting but I know that id just stress myself out if I tried to make it work this month.

Hello ladies! I'm new here. We've been with Dr. Feyles since Oct 2013. He recently moved to Toronto though and we have a new RE Dr. Oraif. He seems really nice! We learned yesterday that we have to do IVF with ICSI and my Dh has to have a TESE done due to low count/ morphology issues. We also were told we should do PGD by genetics there but that's another $10,000 and we would have to go to Toronto for it. We are looking at just staying in London and chancing the balanced translocation. This is some crazy journey from just thinking we could get pregnant the usual way to here! How are you all coping with it?
TTC#1 since Oct 2012. I'm 33 & Dh is 41. With an RE since Oct 2013 and diagnosed with low count (3 mil) and morphology of 2%. We have been referred to IVF with ICSI and due to a balanced translocation in Dh they are suggesting PGD as well. Decided against PGD and are now in the initial stages of IVF with ICSI. Dh had a TESA procedure done to retrieve sperm February 25, 2015. Praying they find some usable sperm! 🙏Sperm has been found! Freeze/thaw test went well and moving on to IVF. Waiting for orientation completed March 25th 2015!!!! 😆❤️IVF with ICSI and frozen TESE sperm #1- Antagonist protocol-75 menopur 100 puregon introducing orgalutran stim day 5 and trigger with ovidrel. ER on April 15. 9 eggs retrieved!!! 4 fertilized and one morula for 5 day transfer. Nothing to freeze. Negative hpts and started heavy spotting 10dp5dt. Beta May 3rd. BFN. 😢😢😢

Stuck on where to go and what to do next. 😫

I LOVE Dr. Oriaf!!! He is one of my favorites there. Great sense of humor and very compassionate. He drained some fluid from one of my tubes and had me laughing the whole time.

I don't have a coping strategy. I've tried many and I end up freaking out about all of it regardless. I hope your IVF goes smoothly and you get a great fertilization rate with icsi.

Keep us updated on your cycle and progress!

So I had my transfer yesterday! Now the dreaded 2ww begins lol. We ended up with 11 fertilized eggs, 7 made it to day 5. Not sure yet how many they managed to freeze. After a lengthy discussion with Dr. Rebel, she only put 1 blast back in. Fx that it is a sticky one lol.

Oct 6, 2014 - Transfer 1 beautiful 4AA blast and freeze the remaining 4

Oct 15, 2014 - Start bleeding sad.png

Oct 17, 2014 - First Beta = 6   I know it's over, clinic is still trying to be positive

Oct 19, 2014 - Second Beta = 2  BFN

Oct 27, 2014 - Laparoscopy for Endo and ovarian cysts

FET #1

Feb 9, 2015 - Transfer 1 blast...clinic can't tell me the quality...isn't that weird?

Feb 22, 2015 - Beta = BFN sad.png

April 16, 2015 - Surgery to remove multiple uterine fibroids

Aug 24, 2015 - Take 3 month injection of Lupron Depot to try to help with endo pain/bleeding

Nov 24, 2015 - Take another 3 month injection of Lupron Depot

Feb 24, 2016 - Blood work and ultrasound. Was going to start prepping for FET, but thyroid is very low so need to increase meds before transfer

May 2, 2016 - start Estrace to prepare for FET (FET scheduled for May 18)

FET #2

May 18, 2016 - Transfer 1 blast...again not told what quality it is. Lose one blast in the thaw.

May 31, 2016 - BFN - I ask clinic what is going on and why this isn't working. They schedule me for a biopsy and sono.

June 9, 2016 - Biopsy and Sono performed. They find fibroids in my uterus and book surgery.

June 14, 2016 - Surgery to remove uterine fibroids

FET #3

September 20, 2016 - Transfer our final blast...stick baby stick

October 3, 2016 - BFN. I have never felt so broken in my life. Not sure I can continue on this journey, but must make a decision as just hours after getting my BFN, I get a call from my clinic saying that they made an error with my government funding and if I was going to continue, I must pay  everything back!!!

December 8, 2016 - Here we are again! Sono and biopsy to prepare for IVF #2 in January! They see something very small forming in my uterus, not large enough to operate on at this point though.

December 19, 2016 - Start Birth Control to prepare for next cycle.

January 7, 2017 - Have ultrasound done, everything looks good to move forward. Stop BC Pill.

IVF #2

January 23, 2017 - 12 Eggs retrieved, all mature, 7 fertilized

January 28, 2017 - Transfer 1 little 3AB blast, 5 still hanging in there and hope to freeze them tomorrow

Congrats on being PUPO! Also, congrats on your great fertilization report, and having 7 make it to blast! Hope you have some good ones to freeze.

I never got a chance to try for a 5 day transfer (due to DOR, I only ever did 3 day transfers) but having so many make it to the blast stage is a very encouraging sign!

Good luck - hope the 2 week wait flies by!

I left the forum after my failed cycle in April, but I'm coming back in Nov for FET!

Did anyone come from out of town and stay at the Country Inn across the street? I heard they have a good hospital rate but I haven't had a chance to call.

And I love Dr. H-C, or as we affectionately call her, "tickety-boo".

I actually look forward to seeing what kind of crazy shoes Dr.H-C is wearing, lol. I can hear her click clacking down the hall and I know she's coming, lol.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the hotel across the street. Thankfully I live just a few locks away.

Good luck with your FET.
