Graceland - soooo sorry to read your bad news :-(. I've been checking the thread hoping to hear good news from you but worried that wouldn't be the case when you didn't post right after your beta. I know sometimes you need time to let things sink in before you are ready to share... I hope you are doing better than you were last week. I always find the first few days are the absolute worst and each day after that is usually a titch better. Have you seen dr h yet for follow up? I know it's more than disheartening that this particular embryo didn't work, but try to focus on your FOUR remaining ones. I really, really think you will be successful with one or more of those!!!

Hello and good luck to everyone else no matter where you are in your cycles/journeys!

Hi Everyone! I am part of the September FET group! I have had trouble with a thin uterine lining for years. I have never got past 7.5 mm. I have been pregnant with a thin lining before, but both times ending in miscarriage (one with my own egg, one with a donor egg).

I am on 4 mg Estrace orally 2x per day and 3 mg vaginally 2x per day. Estrace patches do not work at all on me! My lining on my last FETs were 5.5 and 6.5mm. This time they are adding Viagara 4x daily for 7 days. I'll then stay on just the Estrace until my US on Sept 12th! Hoping for a thicker lining this time!

Have any of you used raspberry leaf tea, yoga etc? I have done acupuncture in the past, but didn't notice a marked difference! Any other suggestions! Good luck everyone

Jane- was your 7.5 during your fresh cycle? I also discovered that my lining is really thin (also 5.5 to 6.5) during frozen embryo transfers using estrace patches or injectable estrogen.... but it was okay during my fresh cycles (9mm) so what seems to work for me is adding actually low-dose stim meds for the fet as well

Hi Breezyboo... That is so interesting. It's been 7 years since I did I fresh cycle, so my memory is a little fuzzy! I do remember having to stay on Estrace for an additional week even back then.

My worst cycle was with estrogen patches. I'm in the pills orally and vaginally this time with a hit of Viagara! So many drugs! I have my US on Sept 12 (21 day protocol). Hopefully it will be thick enough. If not I will definetly ask about the low-dose stick meds. I have 5 frozen emblems left, so will only transfer if lining good enough. Thank you for your insight!!!

Thank you! I did a mock cycle the month before & a biopsy/scratch on cd21 of that mock cycle then did estradiol valerate injections with vaginal estrace again for actual transfer.
I really believe the biospy helped thicken me by injuring my lining causing it to regenerate!

Hey everyone. I have been following along on this thread and finding it very helpful to read! &jusy found out during my last fet attempts that I also have thin lining and can't seem to get it up there with estrace. I have done estrace orally and vaginally and estrodial valerate shots for my last attempt which was even thinner. Going to try letrazole and low dose stim this time. I also want to see if I should be looking into doing a scratch. Does anyone have any Thoughts on this? Let me know.

I haven't found a solution....just had first scan for Viagra protocol and only 5. Not sure if it was the addition of Estrace as I don't react to it at all. I am to continue Viagra, Estrace and now patches are added. For those that have used Viagra, did you have to add estogen (Estrace or patches).

I have heard scratch might work.

My plan for my chronically thin lining:
2 months of supplements
Weekly acupuncture

Then, cycle monitoring to see where it is at without meds but with all of the supplements and acupuncture and a biopsy followed by a medicated cycle with estrogen patches and viagara. I was going to do the monitoring and biopsy this month but can't cycle in December after it. I've heard a lot of women say the cycle after the biopsy they had their best lining so I want to wait and take advantage of that.

All you thin lining ladies, when you were able to transfer, did your lining decrease after start of progesterone? My lining finally got to 9 but scared it will decrease before transfer. I have started progesterone.

Hi, back to this forum after a couple more attempts with Tamoxifen - I got maximum lining last year, 7mm, but did not transfer...

I start having hopes from a new treatment that I read about, with PRP (platelet rich plasma). I wonder if anyone tried this treatment.

I don't know if this will help anyone but I will share anyways. My lining during 4 failed Iui was always around 4.1mm. Then when I got to ivf and we did an ultrasound prior to anything...my naturally lining was 8.6! I couldn't believe it so I asked my doc why and how. She said sometimes iui mess thins the lining. I've switched to a better clinic since the iui doc. The whole time I thought my problem was poor lining. Had I known earlier. Would have moved on to IVF sooner.

It's been a while since I popped into this thread. In case anyone reads this, I wanted to close the loop on our story. We proceeded to try another transfer using a simple protocol of oral Estrace and vaginal Sildenafil. My lining reached 7.1 mm with no triple stripe, but we decided to proceed with a FET of two 5 day blastocysts anyway. We're still cautious, but I'm so happy to share that I'm 8 weeks pregnant with twins. I hope that our experience gives some hope to others. Good luck ladies!

Thanks for the updates ladies! I have been struggling with a thin lining this past year. Still not past the 8mm and I've done 3 mock cycles. My Viagra has been oral. I am going to ask about the vaginal instead.

Graceland - congrats on your pregnancy! Wow amazing news. Super thoughtful of you to share your lining success as well. How much Estrace were you on? And for the vaginal viagra as well?

Hi begin.again,

I began taking 4 mg (= two 2 mg pills) twice daily (for a daily total of 8 mg) for one week, and then I increased my intake to 4 mg three times daily (for a daily total of 12 mg). For the Sildenafil, I took four 25 mg pills vaginally daily (for a daily total of 100 mg). The Sildenafil was expensive as my insurance plan didn't cover very much of it.

Best of luck to you!

I had an ectopic last year from a fresh transfer. My lining was 7 something then and had we known then what we know now, we would never have let the previous RE transfer with my estrogen so high. After a few retrievals at a different clinic, we have seen that my lining can reach an 8. We now have a couple of PGS normal FEs. I never have problems getting triple pattern linings.

A couple of months ago my FET was cancelled due to thin lining. Lining started at 4.07, and final measurement was 6.02. Protocol used was endometrial scratch, 4mg 2x daily oral estrace, acupuncture 2x a week, acupuncture herbs and red raspberry leaf tea, low carb diet, minimal caffeine. My E2 levels peaked at 600+.

Protocol this time is hysteroscopy, bcp for 2 weeks, 4mg estrace 2x daily (1 pill oral, 1 pill vaginal), vaginal sildenafil 4x daily, vit E, baby aspirin, l-arginine. My e2 levels have ranged 900s-1200s. Lining started at 5 before meds, 6.12 a week after starting meds. 1 week later and the RN was able to measure a 7.02 (in addition to several tries only at 6+). The RE came in and measured. He said my uterus was contracting. He waited a moment and was able to get a 7.83. He said he could have measured a little farther. I think he wants to transfer, but we are scared. My RE said that they don't measure linings after starting progesterone and that the lining will be expected to thin. We are waiting to hear from the RE after blood work comes back and will talk about recommended next step. He said there is a small window to continue meds but doesn't think that that would help.

I just don't know what to do. Cancel? Proceed? There just isn't much info out there about thin linings. Optimal lining thickness is 8+. Any advice is welcome.
