If you have frozen embryos, they would be stored right at TCART.  Not sure about if you have frozen eggs, but I think they would also be stored at TCART.  My Egg Bank is a US company that "recruits" women and stores donor eggs that can be purchased and then shipped to TCART to be used by patients there.  It is fairly new that this can be done in Canada.  TCART is one of two clinics in Ontario that is affiliated with My Egg Bank (www.myeggbank.com).  Since my most recent FET failed, I am considering using donor eggs and think that this might be a good option as it is far cheaper than using a donor here.

Hi Bubby99,  no I have not spoken with them yet.  I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor in a few weeks and I am planning to ask him about it and then decide if I want to pursue it further.  Gook luck to you!

I am in BC and have been in contact with my egg bank, I had some questions so I called the 1-866 number and left my email address for a reply after that I was able to just email any questions I had and the response was quite quick within a day or so. The process I went through was a consult with my clinic, then after deciding to use donor eggs both DH and myself were given blood work and a mandatory counselling session which was more informative then I thought it would be. Your clinic will send your profile to myeggbank, myeggbank contacts you on how you would like to pay the $500 deposit and your account is then activated and you can see all the donor profiles. The profiles include childhood photos and medical history of the donor and their family. You choose a couple possible donors and fill out consent forms etc and email them back to my egg bank, when they receive your choices your account will be deactivated and you can no longer search their donors. That is the stage that I am at.

I hope this helps and good luck on your journey.

Smiley2013 - Thank you so much for explaining the steps.  I really appreciate it.  That is good to hear that you got your questions answered quickly, and that you actually found the counselling session helpful.  Interesting that once you have made your choices they deactivate your account.  I guess that's so you have to pay again if you want to use them again.  hope everything goes well for you. Best of luck to you!  And thanks again for the info.

So after looking at some other options and the possibility of using frozen donor eggs elsewhere (at some US clinics), I am back to thinking that I may go ahead with using My Egg Bank at TCART.  So I just thought I would check again to see if anyone is currently using My Egg Bank at TCART and how the process is going (or how it went).
