How lucky you are to have such a compassionate sister! Things would be a bit easier if she lived in Canada, though!


You should contact a lawyer who specializes in assisted reproduction and who practices in Wisconsin. Health care for both the surrogate and the infant is our main concern, and the Wisconsin lawyer should be able to give you advice about coverage and potential cost. He/she will also be able to advise you about the post birth process in the county in which the child is to be born, and that will help you budget your time accordingly. From an immigration point of view, as long as your husband is genetically linked to the child, you should have no problem bringing the baby home.
