Hi Ladies, I Just had my egg retrieval this morning with both doctors. It went super fast! Is that normal? I didn't get to hear how many eggs were collected but I know tomorrow they will be calling me. I just can't help but think that maybe we didn't get many eggs.

I would love to hear other experiances to put my mind at ease.

Thanks ladies!

My first ER last fall was super quick.  I am sure it was less than 10 minutes.  I got 8 eggs from mine.

Depending on how many eggs they retrieve, however most ER are short from what I heard. Mine was very short too (12 min I think), so not to worry.
FX and good luck! :)

That's a bit strange, usually they tell you the number of eggs retrieved while you are in recovery from the ER. They should definitely call you tomorrow to let you know how many fertilized. I had two ERs at MFC, the first time they collected 4 eggs, the second time it was 8. Apart from the prep time, the actual procedures didn't last any more than 5 minutes.

FX and keep us posted!

Thanks Ladies, I am trying hard not to "wait" by my phone. Is there a specific time of day they call about these things?

Hi Netsirk,

The urge to wait by the phone is totally normal! In my case, I think for IVF #1 Dr M called around 10, and for #2 one of the nurses called me around noon. Here's the best piece of advice someone gave me and I'll pass it along to you: be sure to ask about the number of cells and the 'grade' of each embryo. This is very important information for you to have, but they won't volunteer it, you have to ask.

There is a MFC thread that goes back at least a year and has been active until quite recently. You could read through that a bit, I found that I got a lot of useful information from the women there. https://ivf.ca/forums...-64#entry557905

I hope you get great news today!

Hey Ladies,

I have an update for you.  It was 15 eggs, 12 were mature and 6 fertilized. On the 2nd day Dr. Mahutte called and said I have 2 very good embryos and he wanted to transfer 1 on day 3. That was on Sunday.

So here I am 3dp3dt and I don't feel much different. I am trying to be positive but I don't want to get hurt. This 2ww is going to be painful.

At the begining, I felt bloated and had some constipation but now both of those are gone. I don't have any sore or enlarged breasts and I am on Crinone and Estrace too.

I hope all of you are doing well!
