Hi,

 

My husband and I had our embryos frozen 2 years ago due to my cancer treatments. My friend has volunteered to be a surrogate for us! We live in Edmonton and the fertility clinic here doesn't do surrogacies. I have 2 options and I'd like to hear your opinions on what to do/what is easiest etc.:

 

option 1 - get a referral to calgary where they do surrogacies (cons: we have to drive all the way to calgary 3 hours for appointments, we have to pay a few thousand dollars ?? for legal documents, we have to go through counselling - me, my husband, my surrogate and her husband)

 

option 2 - I donate my embryo to my surrogate, then adopt the baby when it is born (cons: I don't know anything about the adoption process! What if something goes wrong here??)
