I am 14 weeks pregnant with one baby. Transferred two. My husband and I of 8 years have decided to divorce after this difficult process. We have 6 frozen embryos. I have children from a previous marriage and won't use the embryos because I'll already be a single mother.

I know frozen embryos are a big deal for many reasons.

Anyway, just wanting to do the right thing and donating them to research or discarding them is not an option. My IVF process was pure hell and my break up is really hard and being pregnant alone wasn't the plan so I'm hoping these potential other lives can make this process worth all the heartache.

Had he agreed to donate the embryos as well? You might run in to legal problems unless he has agreed.

Me - now 36 Him - 37
Trying to conceive since our wedding day May 25, 2008.
Started Clomid Jan-April 2012.
Referred to RFP June 2012.
First consult at RFP November 2012.
First IVF cycle on antagonist protocol (GonalF, Luveris) January 2013.
Transferred two day-3 embryos, had severe OHSS, lost one twin between 7-13 weeks but was expecting one little one October 2013.
Found out at 6 mos that our little one had died weeks earlier and had to induce and deliver stillborn, July 25, 2013.
Something found on adrenal gland at follow up ultrasound, MRI showed what seems to be a benign tumor. Meeting with specialist Jan 8, 2014 - all fertility treatments on hold. :/
Tumour is definitely producing Aldosterone (causes high blood pressure) and Cortisol. Lucky me, only 34 similar cases recorded in the world! Tumour removed May 2014.
Approached about a possible adoption March 2014. Rush through all the paperwork and process.
Charlotte Evangeline born June 27, 2014. We brought her home on July 7 and held our breath for 10 days until she officially became ours.
Surprise BFP October 2014. Due to wonky cycles, ultrasounds convince Doctors I have a blighted ovum but detailed ultrasound reveals heartbeat at 6w3d. On progesterone support and waiting to see if pregnancy is still viable. Holding our breath again.
Adalyn Marie born on June 9, 2014 after a roller coaster pregnancy.

Hello,

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I too would not be comfortable donating my embryos to research, as such, I previously looked into open/known embryo donation, which is like adoption. I posted a link to one such service assuming your in Canada. It allows you to maintain contact with the family and the child. If your uncertain if that is for you, and your certain you would like a Single Mother By Choice to adopt your embryos I request your permission to repost your "AD" on the SMC site. I'd also recommend counseling both legal and supportive PP is correct you need your husband's consent.

For those of you interested in private embryo donation check out pages like miracleswaiting.org or nrfa.org  These sites are american but there are sometimes canadians on there and you can ship embryos to Canada if you get someone that wants to donate to you from the states.  Also there are several embryo adoption/donation groups on facebook that you should look at joining as they let people looking for embryos post profiles and those searching for recipients post profiles and you can connect with each other.  A lot of matches happen in the facebook groups.

if you search for embryo donation or embryo adoption groups there are sections in those groups for people looking to donate/receive embryos.  You will need to request to join and will need approval by the admins to join.  good luck!

I am not a fan of Facebook groups as others can see groups you are in even if closed.
I dont want others to see me suggesting these groups. Anyone know how to get around that?
Some of my friends/family know I am trying to get pregnant but it is not something I care to discuss with my facebook friends many of which are clients of mine.

Nov 2016 Feb 2017 4 failed iui

Mar 2017 IVF 3 pgs abnormal embryos

Oct 2017 IVF 1 pgs normal embryo

Why don't you try using sites like miracles waiting or NRFA if you aren't interested in the facebook groups?

Hello. I dont know where or how to start. I am trying to help my daughter find donor embryo. She is ready to have children but has a condition called premature ovarian failure. She has no eggs. I was recommended to try this site. I am hoping someone has frozen embryo, was successful in completing their family and is now ready to help my daughter fulfill her dream of becoming a mom.
