Just wanted to see how everyone is doing and where we are all at in our journeys. Any new cycles planned? Updates?

It has been 3.5 weeks since we found out that we had lost our LO. I think I have finished the actual miscarrying process and have my follow up with OB on Thurs June 27. Then it's time to call TCART for our follow up appt with them. We are kind of thinking that we won't be doing another cycle until at least Nov/Dec, but that will depend on what Dr Chang thinks/feels re: our situation. We just figure that it will take at least 5-6 months for us to pay down our line of credit enough to then 'jack it up' again.

We are hoping to start TTC naturally again for a few cycles, but of course since we were told that we have ZERO chance of that ever happening, we are going to try to take the focus off baby making for at least the summer. Is that even possible when it's all I think about? thinking.gif

Hi Dragon76,

Thanks for checking in.  Once again, I am so sorry about your miscarriage.  I hope that your appointment with your OB provides some answers for you or at least some support.  Hopefully you will also get a follow-up appointment with Dr. Chang soon to talk about next steps.  In the meantime, try to do some things for yourself this summer.

I was just at TCART today for monitoring and I'm starting stims tonight for my 3rd IVF cycle.  I am on different medication this time so I'm hoping I won't have any weird side effects.

Good luck to you.

Best of luck Dragon and Evan!! I go in on Friday for my second u/s. Nervous about my SCH but hope it's cleared up.

Not sure how my discharge will work...I'm on intra-lipids until I am 22 weeks so I guess I'll still be going in once a month. It'll be interesting.

Good luck Evan! And everything sounds good so far Sangreal! I have been trying to check on IVF.ca more often to see how everyone is doing and it's wonderful to see some happy/positive reports. Gives me hope.

The last 2 days have been much better for me - feeling brighter and more like myself. Hoping this continues! One day at a time.

I am looking forward to Thursday's appt. I just want to know that everything is okay with my body and that I am 'back to normal'. I feel like that will bring some much needed closure to this whole ordeal. Staying focused on the fact that God has a plan and His timing is always perfect. There certainly is a reason for why all of this is happening, and although we can't see it now, I know that it will be revealed at some point. Trying to stay positive and keep focused on our many blessings. :)

If it helps, Old Navy has an adorable t-shirt I'm thinking of picking up myself. It says "Thinking Happy Thoughts" or think happy thoughts....basically the same thing. Sometimes you need that little reminder to keep positive.

Sangreal Mazimur - I hope everything goes well with your second ultrasound.  Enjoy seeing that tiny little bean in there!  By the way, I don't know what SCH is, but hope it is cleared up.

Dragon76 - hope the follow up tomorrow goes well.  I will be down at TCART first thing in the morning for monitoring.

It looks like my retrieval will probably be Thursday next week.  So here's hoping everything goes well.

Follow up with OB went well. He is more concerned with my emotional health and well being at this point. Then Friday, after over a week of brown/disgusting discharge/'bleeding' I started cramping and having what I would call a 'normal' period. As the evening turned into night, though, it quickly became something way worse than a 'normal' period. Since I had had the m/c 4 weeks earlier, I didn't even think that it might have been connected to that, but apparently it may have.

So, about 18 hours in, my body went into shock. I was shaking, having cold sweats, pale with dark circles under the eyes, vomiting, and having the worst uteral pain imaginable (without the joy of a baby afterward, I suppose), plus I had lost a lot of blood (with clots). So DH drove as quickly as he could to the ER and I was admited immediately - which was wonderful. Fifteen mins later I had an IV in and went through the first bag within 45 minutes - crazy dehydrated. Eventually I was given gravol and then morphine.

Thankfully there was no sign of left over 'product' and no infection, which was good news. So literally, this was my first period starting post-m/c. Brutal. Because I had lost so much blood, they were thinking I may have needed a transfusion, but thankfully didn't once my fluid levels were back up.

Today is a much better day, but still uncomfortable. I have T3s for pain if needed. Super heavy flow still though (sorry, TMI). I have to go back tomorrow for more blood work since I still have a BETA count in the 300s.

Otherwise, we have our review appt booked for July 22nd at TCART, so we are looking forward to chatting with Dr Chang and seeing about where we go from here. I pray that I will never have to deal with another m/c again and that, the next time I 'go into labour', I will have a healthy baby to show for it!

Best of luck to you Evan on your ER this week! Will be praying for you and your little follies!!

Bloodwork this morning showed a beta count of 70, from 398 on Sat while I was in Emerg. And, contrary to the u/s and internal, I still have a lot of product left, as I found out by passing it on Sunday evening. Feeling less crampy today, but very sad. Ug.

Thanks ladies. I am still passing some smaller 'bits' but the general bleeding seems to have slowed down, which is wonderful. Got out today for a nice walk with a good friend, plus had a hair apt (which always makes me feel good) and some nice down time with my hubby. So, all-in-all, a good day. Hoping to keep up with the walking as I know that it will help not only my 'fat' issue, but more importantly, my moods. One day at a time.

So...I am dying to hear!! Evan - how did the ER go? And Sangreal - how did your most recent appt go, or is it still forthcoming?

I had one last Friday which was good. The SCH is smaller and the baby is right on schedule. I go in again this Friday to see if the SCH is gone....from there I'll probably be discharged to my midwife with the exception of my intra-lipids.

Hi Dragon76, I'm glad to hear that your bleeding has slowed down and that you have been doing some things for yourself....like your hair :)  I find walking is a good stress reliever too.

SangrealMazimur, that's great that the baby is on track and the SCH smaller (still don't know what that is though).  I have never had a midwife...I hope you have a great experience.

I haven't had my ER yet, it is tomorrow morning.  Hoping all goes well.  It looks like I will have about 6-8 eggs retrieved.

What time tomorrow? I have to go in and pick up more progesterone. I'll be there close to 7am.

An SCH is a sub-chronic hemorrhage. It's a classified as a tear or a clot. It can cause a heck of a lot of bleeding, though for me I've only had two instances of brown. It can go from small (like mine), to very large. My friend had one that was like half the size of her baby.

it can go away, either bleeding out, or being reabsorbed into the body. It can come back if you don't take it easy. Worst case, it could cause a miscarriage. But most pregnancies do well if you take care of yourself and don't do heavy lifting or physical activity.

I hope everything went well this morning for your ER, Evan! And glad to hear that things are okay with you and your LO Sangreal!

Today we have a lunch 'date' with our Pastor and his wife. It was very kind of him to ask us. Last night we ended up going to see Man of Steel and loved it! It was a great day, actually. I am hoping this 'goodness' continues. :)

Hi Ladies,  I got back from my ER about noon and then I had a nice little nap.  The ER went really well, hardly any pain. and they got 8 eggs. On my previous IVF cycles I got a lot more eggs but I was much younger so I'm happy with 8.  Now here's hoping some of them fertilize well and make good embryos.  I can't remember if I mentioned or not that I am not doing a fresh transfer this cycle.  I am going to freeze them all and if enough I will do the PGS genetic testing to look for ones that are not abnormal and then I will transfer one good one at a time in the fall (if there are any good ones!)

SangrealMazimur - Thanks for explaining the SCH thing.  I'm glad your's is small.  Hopefully it will just disappear. By the way, I was there at 7am today but they already had me in the back so I would not have seen you.

Dragon76 - I'm glad you had a good day.  Enjoy your lunch "date" :)

July 2013 - follow up at TCART - genetic testing and egg quality/quantity testing for me

Nov 2013 - phone follow up - test results show I'm all good genetically; egg quality and quantity for my age is low. Wonderful. Flare protocol for next cycle. DHEA recommended - still trying to decide if it's the right way to go. Next cycle 'up in the air' due to finances.

Dec 2013 - TTCN one week late...Jan 1/14 BFN, then AF. Lovely.

Hoping 2014 will be our year.

Just wanted to see how you ladies are doing?

I go in for my second last intra-lipids August 12th. Thinking for my last one in September I'll bring a little gift for the doctors and nurses.

Hope you are all doing well.
