Dear Dr. Fiona,
I'm in desperate need of some advice. Last year I suddenly gained 30lbs. I'm now at 212lbs and counting and it won't come off no matter how little I eat or how much cardio or weight training I do which is new for me despite the PCOS.
During this same period I also developed a colon blockage (resolved), an allergy to eggs(resolved), rashes all over my body(resolved), edema in my ankles, extreme fatigue (somewhat resolved), brittle nails, loss of sex drive, loss of appetite, and my extremities have been cold since jump.
I did nutrition response testing in 2012 and they told me I had copper toxicity and adrenal fatigue. I didn't follow up. I recently tested positive for lead, copper, and mercury but I don't know what my levels are.
I was on aldactone/sprinolocatone for 20+ years. I used hydroxycut for 8 years and I've been on metformin since 2005. I've always always always struggled with my weight but I've never been in a position where I couldn't even lose 1 pound in a whole year! I give up I absolutely don't know what to do. And the thought of getting pregnant and putting on another 20lbs+ that I won't be able to take off... talk about shortening my life span.
I think I might have a subclinical hypothyroidism problem but the test results don't support it.

I have had an endocrinologist for years both in Canada and the U.S.A. and they always suspect hypothyroidism. They even did an MRI of my thyroid but nada.
I have ZRTs Saliva Profile III to complete but other than that I am at an absolute loss. I will take absolutely any advice you have to throw my way. thank you
