Hi all,

I'm doing FETs at Genesis right now and my Dr. is Nakhuda.  I was told at a "lining" appointment that he will no longer be at Genesis as of mid-late April and that I will receive a letter explaining, etc.  Well, so far no letter, and my email to him has bounced back.  And of course, when you call Genesis, no one picks up the phone.  I'm getting a bit frustrated, dealing with another failed FET and not knowing where my future will end up.

Does anyone have any further info on his whereabouts and what clinic he is now working at?

I'm so not impressed with Genesis right now and this is not extra stress I need while dealing with infertility...sigh.

Hello YVRunner,

I had the same experience as you. But I do not remember I receive a letter from Genesis regarding Dr. Nakhuda's move.

I was seeing Dr. Nakhuda since Aug 2011. He did not put me on the aggressive treatment.  I had a spontaneous pregnant June 2012, however  miscarriage on Aug 7, 2012. I have no luck since then. My husband and I are thinking to move on to the IVF lately. I tried to call Genesis, nobody pick up the phone. I just called Olive to verify did he move to there, Olive told me NO.

If anybody have the update for Dr. Nakhuda, please let us know.

thank you.

According to Google there is a Dr. Gary Nakhuda (RE) who has a practice in New York.

Not sure if it's the same person as the one you were looking for.

I went to Genesis today, and they said Dr. Nakhuda left Genesis on last Friday, and he did not reveal where he moves on...

He is not with Olive for sure.

Really makes me wonder why all the Dr's are leaving Genesis. Feeling very uneasy about going back :/ By the looks of their website only Dr Kashyap is left.

I had heard Dr. Nahkuda was going to Olive. Perhaps his contract with Genesis isn't up until the end of April and then he is able to be at a new place? Just a thought.

I believe as well the intention with Genesis was that Dr. Kashyap was always going to be the only remaining doctor now that she's sole owner and she is bringing on other doctors.

This is what I have heard from other sources. Could be wrong!

May 2011
AF arrived. Started nasal spray. Yuck! Waiting again for AF to start injections. Should be the beginning of June!

I had my transfer on April 15 and it was performed by
Dr. Nakuda. I've been seeing since August 2012.

He told me himself that he was leaving, via email, and said there would be a letter and announcement, but I never received a letter and never saw an announcement on the website.

My big question now is - There's only 1 doctor at Genesis! How is Sonya going to manage to
see all the patients? I am just finishing up failed cycle and afraid it's going to take
months to see her for a follow up appointment to discuss what happenned and
where we go next.

Does anyone know when the new doctors will be hired, or who
they'll be?

Dr. K is my doc, I'm not sure how she'll manage either but I've been impressed at how responsive she's been despite all the changes. She quickly responds to email and I've had no trouble getting a follow up appointment with her (within a week of me calling). She has a reputation of being cold but I've found her to be kind and compassionate while answering questions honestly. She seems excited about the upcoming changes in the clinic. The only thing I don't like about her is that she's usually running late for appointments.

I saw Dr N for ER ET and he was great. Dr K talked to me via phone when I was asking the embriologist one million questions on day three. She was very friendly and helpful. I hope she brings in more drs as the facility is lovely and well set up. My one frozen is there, but I think the various satellite clinics are going to Olive.

Hey Ladies - I don't have much of an answer... but I don't believe Dr. Nakhuda is practicing anywhere right now.  A friend of mine is good friends with one of the Genesis nurses (who has gone over to Olive), and she said his last day was April 26th (or maybe the Friday before?).  My understanding is that Dr. K knew, but likely didn't want to stress patients out any more than they already were with the other departures.  I think a great percentage of the staff/nurses/etc have followed the original drs over to Olive, not really sure what went down when Dr. K bought out the practice, but all changes have resulted from that.

That said - I don't believe Dr. N finished his contract, so likely has a non-compete in place, which is why he's not gone over to Olive.  Rumour has it he is likely to end up there, but probably not for a least a year while his contract runs out.  Maybe he'll do locums or something to fill the gap?  He moved his family here from NY so recently, I'm not sure if he would leave town entirely to practice elsewhere?  He was my Dr while @ Genesis and did my transfer, we still have embryos there, so not sure what route we'll take when it comes time to hopefully use them.

I've heard that at least 2 more Dr's have been hired, but was expecting them to have started by now.... I will certainly keep you ladies posted if I hear anything else!

Wishing you all the best, additional stress at this time is the last thing you need:)

HI Ladies-from what I understand of medical offices, I think Dr K had an obligation to tell everyone that Dr N was leaving.  After all, she is the new director of the clinic,so basically, the boss.  Dr N was my doctor too and he was really great-he really cared about me and I bet other patients who had him as their doc would feel the same.  So I think he probably felt terrible leaving without being allowed to say where he was going or what he was doing.

I haven't heard anything about where he is and maybe he is just taking some time off  but I am planning to google him up regularly in the next few months to see where he pops up.  Here's hoping he ends up at Olive!

Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum as I found it while searching everywhere for Dr. Nakhuda. I wish I found it earlier!

I finished my first unsuccessful IUI cycle. I wish I knew about him leaving! Nobody from Genesis notified about his departure, which I think it was very unprofessional.

Him staying at Genesis was the only reason why we didn't move to Olive. Now I have to wait a month and half to see a new Doctor at Olive. So frustrating.

After this first failed attempt, I can see this is only the commence of long journey for me and my husband... I trusted the clinic was there to help out, not to make it more difficult. :(

Hi gals, I have up-to-date info from this week. Dr. N will start at Olive in July. I got an appointment to see him in July at the new location in City Square.

I was wondering about the $45 transfer fee that Genesis charges. It's my own medical and confidential information. What's this charge for?

It is likely an administrative fee to offset their "cost" of pulling your file and sending the copy to you or your new clinic.

It is totally at their discretion. I have cycled at several clincs; some charge a nominal fee (roughly $40) and some charged no fee.

Consider it the price of freedom.
