One of my friends posted this, I shared it and a few others shared it from me. It speaks volumes when 10% of my friends list liked or shared it. I think it helped to bring home the message that infertility affects a lot more people than the masses want to think.

PS - Your aunt is awesome! :)

Awesome!
Me 40 DOR
Dh 44
I had a planned full tubal ligation (took both tubes out) when my last baby boy was born 19 mths ago through planned c-section sept 20.2011.
Me: have a 21 yr old son, 10 yr old daughter, 19 mth old son.
Dh: has a 22 yr old daughter and our 19 mth old son.

Antagonist protocol jan 2013' first and only ivf started (as we thought only one :() They got 5 eggs and none fertilized (icsi was not done as recommended, consented to, and paid for)
Next cycle will hopefully start (fingers crossed) feb or march 2013.

Feb 21/13- day 2 of AF. 5 follicles on one side and possibly none on the other..DOC keeping me on antagonist protocol but has added 3 days of clomiphine citrate. Something about adding a MOS protocol to my antagonist protocol. Clomid for 5 days 2 pills a day & on cd3 started 300 bravelle & 150 menopur shots. Us & bw feb 27. Cd6 angry as heck! ONLY 2 follies supposidly found on both sides now...wtf???Feb 27. Cycle cancelled Gggrr we will see for next month :(

March 22.13~went to day 4 ultrasound this morning expecting my cycle to be cancelled cause two days ago re wasn't sure if I had a large follicle or a cyst. It was really hard to drive 1 1/2 hours then wait..and wait. Anyhow, I couldn't believe it when he told me we are going ahead. I think I almost cried tbh. I have 7 follies at this point. He's keeping me on the clomid for 3 more days and then I start injections tomorrow cd5. 300 bravelle and 150 menopur. I definetly am felling much better this afternoon then I did when I woke up :)

March 25.13~5 days of clomid and 2 of injections. Out of the 7 follies (1~12, 1~11, 1~10, 1~8 & 3~6) he figures we only have a shot at the 3 large ones and the small ones won't catch up. Cycle cancelled again:( I'm so mad and disappointed. Not sure if I can do another month

April 16.13~cd2 ultrasound showed 7 follies but..at this point we have 2 leaders at 6-7mm and the others are 3-5. Clomid cd2-cd4 and 300 bravelle 150 menopur cd3 & cd4. Us/bw Friday April 19. Grow my little follies grow! I can't be happy till after Friday.

Your aunt is awesome.

FB sure brings out the immaturity in people, doesn't it?  Can you imagine before FB - the equivalent would be phoning all your friends and telling them that you were pregnant and then going ... "Nope ... April Fool's."  Not many would be brave enough to do that in person ... because it's a pretty stupid joke.

Yep, I saw one today. And it was from someone who knows what we went through to add to our family and who's good friend was never able to get pregnant and since moved on from TTC. Impatient, I like your example of picking up the phone and making this "joke". Really shows how awful it is.

Me: 32 SO: 32
Endometriosis - undiagnosed until laparoscopy in Jan 2012

No problems TTC #1, DS born in March 2008

TTC #2 since July 2009
Started seeing RE Sept 2010
Blood tests show I'm not ovulating, HSG shows right tube is blocked but hysteroscopy was all clear.

2010/2011
4 cycles clomid + TI = BFN
2 cycles clomid, repronex & progesterone + IUI = BFN

Diagnostic Laparoscopy tentatively scheduled for September 13th.

Lap cancelled 09/12/11 due to complete surprise natural BFP, Betas fluctuating, confirmed ectopic. Methotrexate on September 29th.

Diagnostic Laparoscopy rescheduled for January 10th, 2012. Right tube removed, too damaged from the ectopic to save. Lots of endometriosis found and cleaned up.

IUI#3 was a miserable failure. Did not respond at all to repronex. Taking a cycle off before trying Gonal-F

Another natural BFP on April 5th (SO's birthday)!!! EDD December 12th, Cole Marshall arrived December 8th, 7lbs 6oz!

My friend posted it as well...it's great!  Unfortunately at the same time a friend of mine posted an "I'm pregnant" April fools joke.  I didn't find it funny in the least.  She did the same thing last year but not sure if she even remembers doing it.  When you are trying to conceive for 5 yrs it's not very funny to joke about it.

I was talking to a friend today (total fertile myrtle, both her kids were not planned) and she said she thought about doing that, but then read something like that (maybe it was that one) and she said she felt really bad that she hadn't thought of it before since she knows someone who is struggling right now and knows my story as well. So it does help to spread the word! Although unfortunately we'll never know how many people thought about it and decided not to out of sensitivity.
