Hi Ladies!!
I am new to this forum and new to IVF. I am 28 and DH is 35, we've been TTC since July 2005 with no success ever. So finally, i'll be starting my Estrace pills on January 20th. I'll be doing Antagonist Protocol at OVO . I really hope if God wills, i get pregnant in the first cycle. Although i'm quite nervous about the whole process but i'm really happy to join this forum where i don't feel i'm the only one going through this. As a fact i'm perfectly healthy with no fertility issues. Hubby is healthy too except the fact he has low sperm count. I am looking forward to start my IVF soon with a positive attitude. Welcome! I can't tell you how much these forums saved my sanity and let me know I wasn't alone in this process while I was cycling. I too was scared before I started, there's just so many variables you can't control and that made me nervous.

Welcome! I agree with Jess this website has been a lifesaver through the first IVF. Just waiting for AF to arrive to call my Day one in again. I excited and nervous to try again

welcome strong believer! I am new to this board as well! IT is a blessing to know that you have no fertility issue. I found out that at age 33, I have diminished ovarian reserve. I start my IVF cycle this week. I started a new thread just now called, "Newbie. Starting IVF in Jan.2013. Prayer group anyone?" Please feel free to join me there and we can share our experiences! When do you start your injections? I am pretty nervous to start the injections...and day surgery, hoping you can pray for me as well strong believer! Let me know how I can pray for you!

You're welcome! The injections were tough at first. At our teaching appointment I had a hard time doing the test-injection because it just seems so weird to inject yourself. If done correctly, you don't even feel it and you'll be a pro in no time! I set reminders on my iphone for when I was supposed to take them and that helped me remember. The needle for the Orgalutran (the medication to stop you from ovulating) is very dull and I couldn't get it in so DH had to do that injection. Thank you. We are truly blessed and so grateful that our first cycle worked!

I'm feeling pretty good! I'm back to working out on a regular basis and my energy levels are back. Overall I've been very lucky so far.
I replied to your post in the other thread, but I'll make a quick note here as well. No and no. As long as you follow the instructions from the clinic on how to do the injections, you'll be just fine. I never felt the injections, and I did two a day for about 5 days.
CF = cystic fibrosis. Its a genetic disease that has varying levels of severity and varying symptoms. My DH has it and carries two of the genes for it as well. One of the main parts of the disease is that almost all men are infertile due to a narrowing or "incomplete" vas deferens. Basically, DH makes sperm and has good quality sperm, they just have no way of getting out of his testicles, because the tube isn't connected. He has various other symptoms as well, but none related to fertility. For us, that meant that he had to undergo a procedure to remove the sperm from this testicles with a needle (youch!) and then it was frozen to be used for IVF. We also had to undergo the process of ICSI which is injecting my eggs with his sperm, because the sperm aren't mature when they pull them from the testicle. The way sperm matures is during the trip from the testicle through the vas deferens. It sounds more complicated than it is...

For us, that meant that he had to undergo a procedure to remove the sperm from this testicles with a needle (youch!) and then it was frozen to be used for IVF. We also had to undergo the process of ICSI which is injecting my eggs with his sperm, because the sperm aren't mature when they pull them from the testicle. The way sperm matures is during the trip from the testicle through the vas deferens. It sounds more complicated than it is...

Livebyfaith, i'll surely join your group. Infact i'm doing antagonist protocol, so i'll be starting with Estrace pills on 20th of january....hopefully i'll get started with my injections by early February. I'm also very nervous about the entire procedure, but after reading few posts..i'm a bit relieved. good luck for your cycle too.
