Acupuncture is NOT safe during your first trimester, and since you're PUPO, I wouldn't risk it. Not sure about chiro- I would ask before booking the appointment.

I had acupuncture in the 2ww....and it is safe if the person knows what they are doing and don't do certain trigger points....and my RE always does acupuncture after ET....

Good luck...

I had acupuncture in 2ww and throughout the whole first trimester. You just need to make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing! There are generally fertility/pregnancy specialized acupuncturists. Make sure you tell them you might be pregnant. I have geared chiro is safe, but haven't went myself since. I got pregnant.

I`ve been receiving so much conflicting information that I`ve decided to hold off on both until after the 2ww. Thanks for all the replies

I had to chime in on this one...acupuncture IS safe IF you have it with someone who specializes or is knowledgeable in the area of pregnancy and fertility. There is a lot of research that points to the benefits. Check out the clinic in Victoria, BC...they have some articles on their website that might interest you.

(Actually, my specialist does acupuncture himself on his IVF patients...just something to consider).

Good luck!

I had acupuncture done and I'm in the TWW. If you go with an acupuncturist who is skilled and trained properly, especially in the areas of female fertility, it is safe. However....you have to follow your heart on this one and if it doesn't feel right to you, then holding off while in the TWW was the good decision for you.

  • October 30 2012 met with RE and he said everything looks great on my end and it shouldn't be an issue getting me pregnant. Protocol: 3-4 Natural IUIs.

Hi,

Acupuncture is safe in pregnancy. There are certain cautionary acupuncture points to be aware of in pregnancy but there also cautionary foods, exercise and medications. Like many in the group have shared, if the acupuncturists is experienced and skilled in using acupuncture in pregnancy then you are in good hands.

At Acubalance, our goal is a healthy baby so we do not stop supporting woman when they get a positive pregnancy test, rather we continue to provide holistic care including acupuncture until the birth and even beyond.

The link that follows provides information that acupuncture can provide relief from during pregnancy such as morning sickness, threaten miscarriage, anxiety and breech presentation. http://www.acubalanc...ancy-postpartum

Hi,

You can check and book an appointment at https://holisticacupuncture.com.au/  where I had acupuncture treatment and I must say it is very safe and very effective.
