Someone once told me this and it is usually true.. 9 times out of 10 it is right :) once you are showing you can actually tell what you are having by getting either your partner to look at you from behind or you can look in the mirror and if you look pregnant from behind then you are having a girl and if you are carrying all up front and not on the sides then you are having a boy. Totally worked for me!

The first time I was preggers we thought for sure it was a boy but it ended up being a girl (I was not told until after my ultrasound about the carrying at the sides part or I would have known she was a girl). This time I thought at first that we were having a girl (I was told that people using frozen sperm have a higher chance of having a girl but I am not sure if that is true) so I assumed for a long time that we would have another girl. At about 15 weeks though I looked in the mirror and I realized that I was carrying all up front and I knew at that point that he was a boy and I was right :)

How are you ladies? Everyone feeling good?

Just checking in. I am 13 and a half weeks along and still having nausea, boo. I thought it would pass the exact day I moved into the second trimester! Ha ha. I've started spotting, my OB thinks it is my SCH reappearing, but she isn't worried. It was small to begin with, and the baby is happy and squirming and doing well, so he/she is clearly unaffected.

I'm DYING to know the gender. Xalo, I wish I could do your trick, but I'm not showing enough to tell yet... I think we are going to pay for a 3D u/s at 15 weeks. That is in less than 2 weeks!! :)

2Brides - Hopefully your 2 weeks goes by superfast! I guess it makes sense that you can't tell yet.. we found out the gender at 18 weeks and I think at about 15-16 weeks is when I could tell for sure just by looking. That is great to hear the doctor is not worried. I always felt better when my doctor told me that everything was okay because I trust him and he was right :)

Butterfli - You must be sooo excited!!! I can remember each time for both my kids when I saw their little heartbeats on the screen and it all became real at that first moment. All I can say is enjoy every minute of being pregnant. Even though my son was born almost 3 months ago I still miss being pregnant :) Any predictions on what you guys are having??

I do feel a lot better about the pregnancy now, especially since the u/s tech said that after 12wks the risk of m/c is 1%. I keep telling myself that when I hear bad news etc
I really think that because we keep referring to peanut at a her that we are going to have a boy but that's as far as my inkling goes...I hust wanna know already! Pregnancy is too long lol :)

Butterfli - Oh the heartburn! I totally miss being pregnant but I do not miss the heartburn! With my first pregnancy I was taking tums like they were water and the doctor ended up prescribing me a medication for heartburn. With my son I was lucky enough to be able to drink milk which got rid of the heartburn. I was however drinking LOTs of milk!

I understand wanting to see to make sure everything is okay. I ended up buying a doppler so that I could check at home to make sure that everything was okay :)

Hey gals!
I can't wait to find out the sex... in just 2 more days!!! Our appt is late in the afternoon Friday and I just know I'm going to be dying to know all day- Friday morning will be torture. Ha ha.

Butterfli, I'm confused, when is your next scan? Is it 2 months away? (I am guessing this, since you are already well past 2 months pregnant) Would you be at 22 weeks in 2 months?? That seems like a really long time! Won't they do one before then? I hope I'm missunderstanding something.

Xalo3- I've had indigestion a lot with this baby, but no heartburn yet. I haven't found Tums to be much help, but I LOVE milk, I will try some of that, perhaps it will do better for me!

I am starting to get constipated... ugh. Even though I eat super healthy and have been guzzling water. I knew it was a pregnancy side effect, I was just hoping that I wouldn't get it. It hasn't been too bad. I still go about everyday, it is just less comfortable than usual. :(

Hi everyone, I like hearing about all the little peanuts; it helps me stay positive! I started stim meds on Monday and I'm surviving ok. Don't know if I just picked a bad spot or what, but I got a significant bruise from one of the shots yesterday! Ouch. Bloodwork done today and an ultrasound on Friday to make sure everything looks good, then off to cancun on Sat! So excited!

Xalo, we do have a slight preference for a boy this go round... Ultimately, we hope to have a boy and a girl... Or two boys. But I'm scared of all the estrogen and attitude a house with 2 moms, 2 daughters, and 3 female dogs would have. So if we had a daughter this time, I would be excited to have a sweet baby girl, but scared for next time! ;)

Star, good luck Saturday! Sorry about your bruise and soreness, I remember those days for sure! Just remember to be completely relaxed when the needle goes in! No tense muscles! And let the chill from the refrigerator ease off for 15-20 min, by sitting the syringe on the counter, cold medicine burns!

Butterfli - Everything with me is going well. I can't believe how big the kiddies are getting.. My little man is already 3 months and it seems like he is already getting really big! He weighed over 3 pounds more then my daughter was when she was born so I think that it seemed like she stayed in the newborn phase longer. My little man seems like he is already raring to go and wants to walk! I will admit though I am enjoying having a little one again. I am hoping that by the time he is walking my daughter will almost be out of the terrible 2's and will be listening a little bit better then she is now :) I understand your slight preference for wanting a girl though. We have had so much fun with her. We thought at first that it would be really nice to have another daughter so that they would be really close in age but I am sooo happy with my son. He is amazing and I wouldn't have it any other way! I think that he is going to end up being her "big" little brother!

We are in Cancun, but our first appt is today, so I don't know much yet. It's lovely here--sunny and warm! He estimated ER on the 16th, but we'll probably know more after he actually sees me!

I'll keep you all posted!

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! First appt yesterday went well. The clinic is very nice, dr's and nurses are all nice and all speak English (thank goodness because my Spanish is pathetic!) I'm now doing 3 shots a day, which is no fun, but it should only be a few more days. Now he's thinking retrieval on Saturday the 17th. I go back tomorrow at 12 to see how things are progressing. I'm feeling a little nervous about retrieval right now -- I've never been great about the thought of medical procedures...in the moment, I act tough, but beforehand, I stress a lot. Trying to convince myself not to worry, but it's hard.

We played tourist today and boarded a big tour bus to Chichen Itza which was amazing. I am definitely enjoying this IVF vacation thing, but need to remember that I'm missing a week of school and should probably spend SOME time on that... no slacking in a PhD program :(

Hope everyone is having a good week!

How is everything going? How was er? How are you feeling? When will you be pupo?

Update us :)

2brides how are you doing? Nothing new with me, just waiting for my tummy to pop, waiting to feel peanut, waiting for 24days til we find out what peanut is! Arrrrg so much waiting still!

Call anything new with you? How's ur working situation if you don't mind me asking? Unfortunately due to our money or lack of it I think I'll take the rest of yr off after may but back to teaching part time in the new year. What do you plan on doing 2brides?

Have a great Monday :)
