Chellie - I know how you feel. I have PCOS and AF likes to play keep away with me as well, and tease me with spotting. Hard to know if day 1 is really day 1 that way. Hang in there, should be soon.

AFM - we have a beautiful blast on board. Beta is May 2nd. From my calcs that is 11 days from now, is that enough?

We don't know if we have any for the freezer yet. The others did not make it to blast yet, but Dr. M. says they are giving them another day to see what happens. Grow embabies grow, you need to make it to the freezer!

And on that note, going to be a couch potato for the rest of the weekend. Have a good weekend ladies!

Great news Judes! Grow embies grow!!!
Where do I start?

I have an irregularly shaped uterus, I have had a uterine septum removed, I have an endocervical folds that are most probably causing persistent fluid in my uterus, I had chronic endometritis for over a year, a luteal phase defect, I had two dermoid cysts (benign tumours the size of oranges) on my ovaries removed, I am MTHFR heterozygous, and have been told that I may have an "egg quality" issue. You name it, I've got it :(

Miracle DS born December 2008

December 2009: TTC#2

June 2010: Started at McGill. Transferred to Montreal Reproductive Center- had a horrible experience Switched to Montreal Fertility Center- So happy there!

Oct. 10/11 5 day transfer of 1 blast.
Two blast frosties
Beta on October 20/11 BFN :(

Consultation @OVO- October 2011.
Re-consulted @McGill. Staying with MFC for now.

Operative hysteroscopy with Dr. M on February 23, 2012 to hopefully remove and endocervical cyst or polyp. --- no cyst or polyp, but endocervical folds were found that are most probably damage from a cerclage from my previous pregnancy. The folds cannot be removed but should not effect implantation.

Phone consult booked with Dr. Librach, a reproductive immunologist, to explore possible immune issues. (Feb. 16, 2012) rescheduled for February 28th, 2012. Dr. Librach said that I most probably have immune issue based on my history and symptoms. With next transfer I will be:-Having an intralipid infusion,-using steroids-Using baby aspirin-Praying that it works! And traveling back and forth from Toronto for treatments along with cycling at MFC.

FET #2
Started Estrace April 9, 2012
Estimated transfer date: April 26, 2012
CYCLE CANCELLED- lining didn't look right even though it grew but only after 16 days

FET #3 (actually FET #2 Take 2)Started Estrace May 9th, 2012- lining not cooperating again :(Cycle cancelled again.

This was our last try before going down a new path...I'm done. My body and soul can't take this anymore.

May 2012: Looking into surrogacy.
June 2012: Now looking for a surrogate
Sept 2012: We may have found the most wonderful surrogate! Keep your fingers crossed after so much heartache (after contacting over 250 surrogates and getting close with about 4 before all contact stopped?)

May 2012: It looks like it is going to be at least 4 more years. Adoption from South Korea has slowed down.

September 2012: South Korea waiting list closed because there are no proposed children. Hopefully things will pick up.

On the waiting list for adoption from Kazakhstan ( looking at a probable 2 year wait.)

October 2012: Called to sign a contract with Alliance Des Familles du Quebec. In Shock! Might be adopting from Kazakstan earlier than anticipated!

November 2012: Waiting for my surrogate to have her sonohystogram.Signed contract with Alliance Des Familles du Quebec and opened file with SAI.

Starting home study in January 2013.So, right now, it seems like its always all or nothing! Pursuing surrogacy (in the screening stage/pre-contract) and international adoption from Kazakhstan. I'm praying that we will choose the right path. I'm so conflicted and don't know what to do.

Adoption process on pause.

Surrogacy journey: Amazing surrogate passed psych and cleared medically. We will be meeting with dr. M to make plan.

May 2013: Getting ready for FET in a May. I high quality blast to my surrogate. BFN

Took the summer 2013 off.

November 2013: Ovarian stimulation -7 follicles. Only 1 egg :( Possible ET to GS Friday November 29, 2013. NOPE. EGG was abnormal.

April 4, 2014: Last cycle with incredible surrogate ended with a BFN

April 28, 2014: Submitted file for home study. Collecting documents to complete my file.

August 2014: Still waiting for home study...

Starting home study soon! Stay tuned...

Lucretia - I don't think we got any frosties, I have not heard from the clinic. Glad you had such an awesome weekend.

Lisa - Crossing my fingers that your lining improved and you get a go for the FET.

I am coping with the 2ww. Going between obsessing about every single little spasm I feel and wondering if our embaby hung on for dear life and trying to keep my mind off things. Now I just need to decide to POAS or not POAS.

MFC haven't called neither me, nor Lisa (as far as I know) for the frosties, so maybe it is a trend and you may want to call them to find out....

hi Dawnhoping, congrats on the 13 eggs (knowing Dr M he told you he retrieved a baker's dozen, right :) ) Are you sure that your transfer will be on Friday? You may have the ET on Sunday if you have many grade 1 and 2 embryos on Thursday. Good luck! :)

Lisa, FX everything goes well tomorrow.

Judes, how are you doing? 2ww got to you already?

Dawnhoping - welcome! Congrats on the 13 eggs. Good luck and lots of baby dust!

Lisa - Good luck with your appointment today. FX you get a go!

Lucretia - I am doing well. Thanks for asking. How are you doing?

AFM - Just trudging along with my final week of work. I feel exhausted all the time though. must be the gloomy weather we are having. The 2ww is torture lol. I go from feeling like it worked to feeling like it did not work. It really messes with your mind. I had some minor cramping the day before yesterday on my left side, so I am hoping that it was implantation cramps and not my ovary acting up. I couldn't tell where it was coming from. Have a good day everyone!

That's great dawn!
Judes I would wait a little.
My lining was only 6.8 so, I go back tomorrow morning for another scan. I won't do the transfer if the lining is under 8. This might be my last shot, so I don't wasn't to waste the embryos. Plus, I've cancelled my intralipid infusion in Toronto, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. I highly doubut that my lining grew over 1mm in 1 day.

We'll see what tomorow brings.

IVF #1-
short protocolER: April 21/11- 8 eggs, 7 mature 5 embryosOn day 3: 4x4 cell grade 2 and 1x2 cell grade 15 day transfer of 1 blast on April 26/11 (two surprise blast frosties)
Beta on May 6/11. BFN :(

June 2011: On the waiting list for adoption from South Korea

July 2011:Persistent chronic endometritis (endometrial inflammation from a complication post c-section) finally cured!

FET #1:
September 8th 2011- transfer of 2 blasts
Beta on September 19/11 BFN :(

IVF #2-
short protocol againER: Oct. 5/11- 13 eggs collected, 11 mature and fertilized2DPER- : 11 embryos were grades 2&3 and 2,3,4 and 5 cells

Chellie - how are you holding up?

Lisa - FX the lining increases for tomorrow. Have you tried using a hot water bottle? Apparently it helps increase blood flow to the uterus, so it might help with the lining. I did that every single morning and evening during my cycle.

What is an intralipid infusion?

AFM - All's quiet on my end. Got some increased clear discharge and some on and off light cramping. Is that a good sign?

hi ladies :)

I thought I will have a terrible day today (given that it is my "due date" for my son) but instead I feel very hopeful b/c Dr M just told me that our embryos were VITRIFIED! So, good news for everyone who has frosties in MFC (Judes did you call to find out?) - everyone's chances to get pregnant from a FET in MFC just doubled!! I cried from relief after Dr M left the exam room....
I asked him how many are we going to transfer and he said 1, unless I want twins (I do want twins!), and I tried to "complain" and told him that I read about the slow-freeze and I am not very hopeful for the success of my FET and then he told me, no , the embryos are vitrified so don't worry too much :) :) My lining is 9.6mm today, FET is scheduled in a week....

Lisa, I hope your lining improves by tomorrow, did you try red meat, baby aspirin and fertility yoga? Check videos from Brenda Strong on Youtube for the yoga, I do these exercises on a daily basis. Crossing my fingers everything goes well. Posted Image Posted Image

Dawn, any news for the embies today? When is your ET scheduled?

Judes, I think the cramping is a good sign judging by my experience (lots of cramping when I've got BFP and no cramping with the BFN) The discharge is from the Estrace I think..

Chellie, any news on your front?

Hi Lucretia,
I'm due for transfer tomorrow (friday). Dr. M will be transferring two. I wasn't sure does that mean that my egg quality is lower since they aren't waiting until Sunday? I'm glad they are doing more than one, but do multiple embryos have a harder time succeeding?

Since the retrieval my stomach is super bloated and sore. Is that normal? I thought maybe it's just to do with the medication that maybe made me a bit constipated or something. Anyone else get that? I've had a tiny little bit of pinkish brown mucous, but not much. no bleeding of any kind. is that normal after retrieval?

Lucretia - So glad to hear they now use vitrification. What a relief! Suzanne is supposed to check and get back to me. I have not heard from her yet. I'll call her tomorrow if I don't hear anything by tomorrow noon. I don't know if i would describe what i had as in lots of cramping. Its more like a twinge every now and then and sometimes it feels like there are butterflies in there.

Dawnhoping - I had the same thing happen to me, prolly a very mild case of OHSS. The only thing that helps is lots of fluids, gatorade and V8 for the salt, potassium and electrolytes. Rest is very important. I slept for 2 days. It will pass. Progesterone can make you constipated as well, so prune juice, dried apricots helped me. The pinkish brown mucus is just dried up blood from ER passing, unless you are using crinone in which case it can irritate and cause bleeding, but don't worry too much as long as you are not gushing or something. Good luck with your ET!

Thanks Lucretia,

Ya I think I'm just hugely constipated. It's either from the Progesterone or from the meds given at the time of retrieval. I was pretty ok before that. Hopefully it clears by tomorrow. It makes me worry that it will interfere with implantation. My belly is so swollen looking, I look like I'm already pregnant. ha! These hormones sure do a number on a girl's body don't they! Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end result : )

Dawn, I think that most of the clinics do 3 day transfers if they have less than 5 embryos on 2dpo. The grade of the embryos is written in your file so you can ask tomorrow.
After my ER last year I fainted from pain on 3dpo, it should be normal to have some cramping I guess?
Good luck tomorrow!!!!

Judes, FX you have frosties for a future brother /sister to your current embaby :) Are you going to POAS?

The question is do I spend money on drugstore or do I buy a bunch of dollar store ones? I am generally suspicious of dollar store things, has anyone used them and had success?

I use internet cheapies and I think they are ok, but I've never used FR or ClearBlue so I can't compare. Last year b/n my beta and first u/s I was out of internet bought tests (POASed like crazy :D ) and I bought a bunch of Dollarama ones and they worked as well.

Hi Heregoesnothing. Welcome to our little group. I'm a teacher too. It's so hard to be private with fertility issues.
Judes I've tried Internet cheapies and first response. I like first response but they are so expensive.

AFM my cycle is canceled. My lining was 9 but not trilayred.
I'm glad that we canceled. I really didn't want to waste my embies.
So, 7 days of provera then I hope to get AF to cycle again.
