Hi there

I have some questions about whether my 3 autoimmune issues could possibly be related to our 7 yrs of infertility and 2 miscarriages.

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease as a teenager but it has been in remission for 15 yrs. I also have Vitiligo and ITP (Ideopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). The ITP was diagnosed 3 yrs ago and I have only had the one flare up. Spent 5 days in hospital, my platelets were below 1. I took Prednisone for 3 months and everything has been back to normal since then.

We are planning to do another COH in the spring and I have an appt with my RE in February. I was wondering what, if any, tests I should ask about in regards to a possible undiagnosed autoimmune problem that could be preventing me from getting pregnant and staying pregnant.

I can't shake the feeling that they are missing something, and the fact that I already have 3 autoimmune disorders (even though they aren't too serious) makes me lean in that direction.

Any info would be hugely appreciated!!! :)

Sugaree - I am so sorry for your losses (((HUGS)))

Immunology is for sure a Dx for infertility! Does your clinic know about all of your autoimmune issues? From what I understand currently there are only a few clinics in Canada do treat for immune issues. I know Markham does and VFC (the clinic I go to) do.

Have you ever considered asking for a referral to an Internist? I asked my GP for a referral to a Rheumatologist based on my test results. Have you done RPL testing?

This book is a great wealth of information and can be ordered on Amazon.ca http://www.repro-med...epro-med-site2/

Good luck! I really hope that you get your sticky BFP soon.

Laura

I'll PM you this evening.

Hi Sugaree,

I do definitely believe autoimmune factors have a role to play in infertility!

Please have a look at an article I published in NDNR regarding this issue.

Thanks for your question!!
