so... I thought I would get the ball rolling with the first legal question

what are the legal implications in embryo adoption? from a legal standpoint, is this done in a way that is similar to private adoption? embryo adoption is something a lot of people seem to be talking about but I'm not really clear if anyone is actually doing it - and if they are - how do couples seeking an embryo to adopt connect with couples seeking to donate? what documentation needs to take place? is a homestudy required? can a surrogate be used? sorry for the barrage of questions - it's something that seems to be coming to the forefront more and more but no one really seems to know where to start with it.

any info you have is tremendously appreciated.

Great question. We don't really talk about embryo adoption, because the law doesn't consider the embryos to be children. Rather we donate embryos, and the process is similar to gamete donation. A contract is highly recommended, and a surrogate can be used in Ontario or BC.

I just heard of some available embryos. Call me or send me an email if you'd like more details.
