Well I just had my appointment with my GP and finally got a referral to this clinic. Doesn't seem to be a very active board but hopefully that will change. I realize it's a fairly new clinic but I'd love to hear from those who are going there.

It's my first time going to a fertility specialist and my GP believes even with the few tests that have been done that the issue is male factor and that our only chance is IVF with ICSI. Nervous about this but excited to finally be getting the ball rolling.

Would love to hear from other ladies going to this clinic and their experiences!

Glad to hear you liked this clinic! My GP is new to the province so he didn't know much about the fertility clinics in the area so he asked me to do some research and pick which one I liked best but I found choosing a clinic very stressful....I was hoping I chose right! My appointment is actually tomorrow so I'm pretty excited and a little nervous.

Hi all,
I'm new to this site and wondered if anyone has had any new experiences with Procrea in Vaughan? I'm leaning toward going there.
BFP #1 after 9 months TTC Feb 2008, beautiful dd born Nov 2008
TTC #2 starting April 2010, BFP #2 Nov 2010 ended in 14 wk m/c Jan 2011
Still trying for #2 and that elusive BFP.
Routine bloodwork and charting appears normal for me, DH poor motility and numbers
on SA, starting referral process to FS.

Hi Bobsgirl,
I'm never on here anymore but thought I'd let you know that I did have my first appointment with Dr.Belej-Rak. It went well and she seemed really nice. You and your DH will have to get some bloodwork done and she'll do a few other tests on you like a pap and take pictures of your ovaries and then she'll probably set you up with a few more tests to start after your next cycle. I never made it past the first appointment. I was waiting for my period to call in on Cycle Day 1 to schedule the tests and ended up pregnant. Hope you have the same luck! I noticed you're in grey county, I'm in Collingwood. Found the drive really easy and it's nice to not have to drive right into Toronto. Good Luck!

Hi there,

I am going to be going to Procrea in Newmarket for the first time this week. It sucks that there are like no reviews whatsoever on this clinic, evem though they've been open for at least 5 years. Hopefully everything goes well.

Newlywed84 - I've been going to this clinic for almost 3 years (previously Northern Reproductive Therapies). Finally on to my IVF after a couple of surgeries to clean various things up. I find things are much better lately since the clinic changed hands. We may end up crossing paths at some point during cycle monitoring.

I went to "Procrea Newmarket" when it was called Northern Reproductive.  Someone on here mentioned that this clinic has "changed hands" and things seem better here now.  I believe that she is mistaken though as it appears that the same Director (an RN named Heather Brooks) is still running the place.  I think they may have brought on a new Dr. though.   Myself and 2 other friends had very bad experiences here.  I would be happy to share about my experience if there is anyone out there that would like to know.  Without sounding too harsh but just wanting to be honest, I will just say that going here was the biggest mistake that we made in our fertility journey.  Our precious time and money was thrown out the window due to misdiagnoses, incompetent staff, and the director's mission which is to only make money.  I am now at an amazing, professional clinic in Markham.  It has been a night and day experience for us(for the better!) since we said good-bye to Procrea/Northern Reprodctive.

Us:  5 year history of infertility (DOR, immune, MFI-dna frag 20%)

Me:  4 transfers (2 fresh, 2 FETs) from 2 different batches of donor eggs(very young unproven egg donor)-all early losses/chemicals.  3 of the transfers with immune treatment

Surrogate #1:  2 FETS (BFN, MMC 9 weeks-single blast split into 2)

Surrogate #2:  2 FETS (chemical, BFN)

Plan:  Starting over.  Will try a proven egg donor

Other:  DH took supps x3 months before 2nd cycle resulting in much improved fertilization rate.

Other:  3 blasts from second batch were thawed and PGD'd.  All were euploid.

I have been going to the clinic for a few years now and there has been a major change since it became part of Procrea. I had a couple of bad experiences in the past, but it has been much improved. Dr. K is great. We've barely had to wait a total of 5 minutes for him over 2 visits (he was taking night appointments for a while after Dr. Forman left to avoid a backlog). He is very professional and approachable, responding very quickly to an email I sent him with a concern. He even followed up afterward to make sure everything was okay. While there are still many of the same staff there, you can tell that the philosophy has changed.

I had a bad bad experience at the old Northern Reproductive Therapies also -- I would love to know what their success rate, if any was back then & possibly what it is now

Well...the IVF protocols mentioned to me by Dr. Forman (who left the week before my appointment to finalize the protocol) & Dr. K were pretty different (with all my medical information the same) so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of change in success rates.

They managed to get me pregnant, but I miscarried. Will be going back once more for an FET cycle and then will be going somewhere else for another opinion. Was the time to move for me as my doctor is leaving.
