Not finding the belly bands stay in place and not quite ready to enter a maternity store to buy a full paneled pair of mat pants? Here's an easy and cheap pant conversion for small pregnancy bumps (in hindsight it would have worked well for IVF bloat too). I took some old capris that don't do up anymore and cut the waistbands & zippers off and replaced them with an 3 1/2" wide elastic inside a new rib knit waistband. Ahhhh... comfort. Pair with a long loose fitting T-shirt and viola -fashion and function.

You can also make a belly band that have more stay power out of a tank top - I learned that one here. Mostly I just used a hair elastic through the button hole to give me the extra bit of space I needed - yay for long tops! I pretty much wore my own stuff all the way through and hardly had any mat wear.

Wow, SD, you're crafty!

Here's a solution I really liked. You can use it for the pants you don't want to convert. It works really well.
