hi everyone,
just wanted to say hello ... i've been lurking for quite some time.
my story ... got preggers in august 2010 (two months of trying the old fashioned way + clear blue fertility monitor). one week after initial blood test, i was diagnosed with an ectopic. i was 4 wks and 5 days. given methotrexate at hospital ... ruptured three hours later. emergency laparoscopy, major internal bleeding, lost my right tube (docs think it was likely a wonky tube from a previous appendix complication). LONG recovery (well, long for me because i am impatient) and i'm back on the baby wagon.
i'm @ toronto west fertility with dr. claessens. my left tube is clear (thankfully). in addition to only having one tube (but two ovaries), i've also been diagnosed with PCOS (irregular periods + multifollicular ovaries). i'm really pleased with the clinic, the nurses and dr. claessens.
in december, i was on femara for five days. i produced one follicle in the right ovary (dammit!). i was given ovidrel and hubby/i BDed. BFN.
this month, i took femara again and we're going to try an IUI. dr. claessens has said that injections will be up next if we get a BFN again.
i wanted to thank everyone here ... it's difficult to find canadian boards! in the past few months, you guys have been my go-to for any questions. i don't have any friends who've gone through fertility treatments so it's hard to get personal opinions/stories.

Round 2: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI - Jan '11 - BFN
Round 3: Femara + Ovidrel (x2) + IUI (x2) + Progesterone - Feb '11 - BFN
Round 4: Menopur + Lupron + Ovidrel + IUI + Progesterone - BFP, Beta #1 183, Beta #2 400
u/s #1 @ 4.5 weeks: definitely not ectopic (whew!)
u/s #2 @ 6.5 weeks: bean is 0.95 cm, 194 hbpm
u/s #3 @ 8.5 weeks: bean is 2.1 cm, 179 hbpm
u/s #4 @ 10.5 weeks: forgot to ask for measurements, 180 hbpm (heard the heartbeat through the speakers ... OMG!)

u/s #6 @ 19 weeks: anatomical scan shows all is good and everything is in place. whew!

Awe, sounds like you've already had a tough go of it...good luck on your upcoming IUI, hopefully you don't need those injections!! You might want to jump onto an IUI cycle buddies thread, lots friends and support there

Suprefact, dexamethasone, Gonal F, Luveris, estrogen, etc.
BFFN - Yep, that's an extra F, guess what it stands for?

lap x 1 apr/05-endomet left tube blocked,half of left ovary resected
1st ivf cycle nov/05 developed mild ohss again DEC 2ND/05 BFP u/s small sac slow heart beat small fetus misscariage at 9 weeks 1 day
fet may 06 -cancelled due to very rare -sub acute viral thyroiditis
fet oct 20-bfp ,beta 700 on nov 1 ,1700 on nov 3,3900 on nov 5 u/s 2 small sacs ,slow heart beat small fetuses m/c nov 23/06 ,day of our 9th wedding annivrsay
1 blast still frozen
IVF#2 july 07 7 BLASTS FROZEN 2 normal 2 have trisomies 3 not tested less than 6 cell on day 3 fet oct 25/07,transferred 2 instead of one ...oops
1st beta nov 2 bfp (again) 23,2nd beta 83 ,3rd beta 371 u/s nov 21 hb 118 bpm
