Can the Flu or bad cold affect quality?

I'm at home nursing a cold (bronchitis, actually) and I started wondering whether a bad cold or flu could have a negative impact on one's eggs.
Last year my husband had a SA performed while he was fighting the flu and ended up with a zero count. We were told the flu can affect a man's sperm. So this got me wondering whether a woman's eggs can be affected in a similar fashion when fighting an illness such as a bad cold or flu or the like.
Tangentially, can antibiotics affect a woman's eggs?
Thank you!

Hello Peter,
I'm at home nursing a cold (bronchitis, actually) and I started wondering whether a bad cold or flu could have a negative impact on one's eggs.
First of all get well soon! As far as eggs are concerned unless you had a very high fever (>39 degrees C) it has no impact on egg quality
Last year my husband had a SA performed while he was fighting the flu and ended up with a zero count.
Sperm are a bit more heat sensitive but even a high fever should not result in a zero count. Fever more often results in poor motility.
We were told the flu can affect a man's sperm. So this got me wondering whether a woman's eggs can be affected in a similar fashion when fighting an illness such as a bad cold or flu or the like.
Tangentially, can antibiotics affect a woman's eggs?
There is no evidence for any adverse effects of antiobiotics on eggs
Good luck!
Peter
Thank you!
