Was just wondering what your thoughts were on Two day Vs. Three day transfer of embryos.
Is it not better to wait for the three day? What are the chances of achieveing pregancy with a two day blast?
I look forward to hearing from you
Thank you,
August

As for me, I just had 7 eggs retrieved (don't know fert. yet) and I can transfer up to 6 on day 3. Or 4 blasts on day 5. I wish someone could tell me which way is better to go. My RE will lean towards putting whatever is left back in on day 3, but would let me choose if I prefer. If I had a guarantee that a good egg couldn't die off before day 5 because it didn't like the culture, I'd go to day 5 so that more of the aneploid embryos could die off first...and hopefully make a miscarriage less likely. And I wouldn't have to go through a 2ww unless there was something worth tranferring in. In answering August's question, Dr. Holland, if you have any other input to add, it'd be appreciated...

I'm wishing for 4 good ones so I don't have to make any decisions about whether I feel ok about transferring 6...

Hello Dr. Hollands,
Was just wondering what your thoughts were on Two day Vs. Three day transfer of embryos.
Day 2 and 3 can produce good results, it really all depemds on the clinic.
Is it not better to wait for the three day?
In terms of embryo selection possibly but then again others argue that it is better to get the embryos back to the uterus as soon as possible
What are the chances of achieveing pregancy with a two day blast?
Blastocysts take 4-5 days(sometimes 6 days) to form so a day 2 blastocyst isn't possible. Many clinics have excellent results with blastocyst transfer.
Good luck!
Peter
I look forward to hearing from you
