Hi,

We went to Conceptia- even though AART was closer. I love this clinic! They moved faster and we never felt like just a customer. We did IVF- which worked the first time- and had twin boys last August. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Vicki! I wish you the best of luck in your 2ww. I found it so long when I did my IVF.

Hi Ready! We're going to be doing IVF. I need to go in again in July to see if my cyst is gone. I understand the Suprefact are injections. Do you remember if it was once or twice a day?
For the blood test and ultrasounds, what time did they get you to go in?

Thanks for responding ladies!

Hi,

We have been seen a couple of time at the Conceptia clinic since 2009. We've been TTC for over 7 years. After much thoughts and struggles, we came to the conclusion that we can't afford IVF but would like to try using a donor through IUI. I love that clinic and all the nurses are so nice and understandable. We are waiting for more testing to be done before moving on to our dIUI in the fall.

Hi Buttercups, I'm also at the conceptia clinic and this month will be our IUI #2. The first resulted in a chemical and last month it was cancelled due to poor response (only one good follicle and thin lining). Today is CD2 for me. Good luck with your IVF, if we don't get a BFP soon we will be looking at IVF but our fingers are crossed for this cycle.

Hi buttercups, we are seeing the psychologist this Thursday. We will be cycling with the clinic as soon as all our BW and pap test are redone. Hopefully in September or October. We're up north NB so it's a 4 hours drive for us to come to the clinic.

vickie- Good luck with your IUI.

Does any of you think IUI should be natural or medicated?

srjv - I have only done medicated iuis, with my second I only had one follicle and they cancelled the iui because they said my chances of conceiving would be the same as trying naturally so they didn't want me to "waste" my money. I'm hoping for a better response this month, I'll be super bumbed if they cancel it again.

Good luck to all you ladies.

What were they giving you? How much? The 3 IUI's I've done was with Clomid (serophene 100mg) with Ovidrel. One of those I only had one follicle so I was a little down about it but I was also sick on the cycle. Did your Dh got tested? I think that us even with just one they will do it anyways because our chances are very slim with DH's sperms since we will be using a donor to do the IUI. Good luck and FX they don't cancel this time.

I was previously on 100mg of clomid, the first time I responded well with 4 follicles and the second time, only 1. This month I am taking 100mg of clomid for days 1, 3, and 5 and 150mg on days 2 and 4. DH was tested and his numbers are good as well as motility and everything else. Good luck to you!

We are meeting tomorrow with the psychologist and I am a little anxious about what he will say or want to know. Did you have to see the psy? Me too first time I had a lot of follicles and the second time only one. The last IUI we did I think I had 3. The count was good in the last 2 IUI's but I can't be sure since the clinic wasn't too good at the time. I'm glad we changed for Conceptia they seem much more equipped and ready to make it happen.

Busy thread! :) We haven't met with the psychologist srjv - it wasn't really mentioned to us other than to say they have one on staff... I've thought about seeking counseling nearby (we're in Saint John area).

Nikki - Woohoo too no cysts! I don't completely understand the BCP - is it necessary to take birth control the month before doing an IVF?

Vicki - I wish you much success with this cycle! That would be so tough to be cancelled. We were nearly cancelled on our second round due to over activity - I had 4 follicles on my left side. I think they won't go ahead if you have 5 or more.

srjv - I originally thought about an un-medicated IUI, however, looking at the stats as they are, I couldn't justify doing an un-medicated cycle.

I'm scheduled for a mock transfer Sept 13th and all my blood work should be completed around then as well. I've started up on accupuncture/accupressure treatments again - not sure if it helps but I'm willing to give it a try!

buttercups- From what I understand using BCP before an IVF is mandatory because they want to shut down your hormone system so they can monitor and boost it back up when they want. What is a MOCK transfer? I've done acu a while back and really liked it. I might restart again but not sure. I go for Reiki Treatment about every 2 weeks and really enjoy that as well. I was looking into getting something like craniosacral massage or myofacial massage. Not very easy to find around here since we are too small of a place and no business. The psychologist was mandatory because we are using a donor and the clinic want to make sure that we have dealt with not having a bio child together even though we will be bond to the child like it is.

AFM- We had our first consultation with the psy Thursday. It went really well. Makes me realise just how much we have grown up and mature since TTC. The psy was able to help us on certain things concerning how to deal with donor. How to tell the child which in encouraged but not to tell the world. If we tell others to mention to them to keep it to themselves for the sake of the child as we are trying to protect him/her ect. At some point in life the kid will have a choice to tell people and how but it will be up to him. He talked to us about depression, coping with it working or not, coping with IF, how and when to tell about pg, our support system. It was really nice to talk to him. He even gave us a 20$ discount after he learned that we had no insurance. Very good and humane guy. When we got out I told DH that there is one thing I didn't mention while there and that is that I have the best man ever and that I love him very much and even though it takes him a while to get used to new ideas he eventually try and open up. I think he felt shy a little that I said that but he was happy. I feel that he is so much more relaxed and enjoying life now more than before. He even mentionned that if this works he wants to get a day job so he can be home more often with us and enjoy family life. Awww that was a sweet moment. :Emoticons09710:

buttercups- From what I understand using BCP before an IVF is mandatory because they want to shut down your hormone system so they can monitor and boost it back up when they want.
