Not my own story but my girlfriend who I met at PCRM is pregnant for the second time. She had a daughter the first try with IVF there but had nothing to freeze. She did IVF again this last spring and is now expecting her twins in 2 weeks! 3 girls under 2 years! Very exciting!
Good luck!

Rae, I was just peeking at your siggy - you delivered twins at 41 weeks???!!! Seriously? If that is correct, you deserve a medal. I'm just wondering why they would keep them in that long. I'm praying I will deliver at about 34 weeks. I'm 27 weeks and so uncomfortable I cry almost every day. How on earth did you do it?

Congratulations btw...

Good luck Martak!
We also have 2 frosties left and are still unsure what to do. Another baby is one thing but another set of twins would be something else all toghether! I'm pretty sure PCRM has "rules" about # of embryos transfer but of course they evaluate each case.

Boxermom, Yup, 41 weeks to the day and even then I was induced. Didn't even know that was possible. They started talking about induction at 38 weeks but I wanted to wait. I was watched very closley by my doctor and midwife. Was I uncomfortable...HECK YA! A lot to be said about mind over matter and lots of tums and lots of baths and lots of sitting/laying around, body pillows, tummy cream, putting my feet up! When it came down to it I just really wanted that one part of my pregnancy to happen on it's own. Everything else was..."engineered" and I just wanted something to be spontaneous! Good luck to you and I hope things start getting easier for you soon!

Rae, you are officially my hero! :)

I've never heard of anyone carrying twins 41 weeks (let alone 40 or even 39). How much did they weigh? I guess I'm a wimp wanting them out at 34 huh LOL. Can I ask (I know you are never supposed to ask a woman this) how much weight you put on? I've put on almost 40 lbs at 27 weeks - I'm tipping the scales at about 175 and I'm not a big girl.

Any suggestions or tips for when they come? Were you able to tandem breast feed? I'm going to try but if I can't, I'm not going to let it get me too upset.

I'm sure they are beautiful :). Are you part of the twin group in Vancouver?

Boxermom - consider yourself lucky that you are caring twins - I am sure it's not an easy task to be pregnant and give birth to twins but instead of one baby you will have 2. All we want is 2 babies and we never have to think about this IVF again.

Rae - yes, congratulations - wow 41 weeks! 3 kids maybe but 4 - a little too much:)...understand where you coming from. All the best with your decision.

Aja - Do you know when in 2010 will you try again. All the best to you and your family! I am starting in January.

Tash - I will keep my fingers cross! All the best to you. Let us know your results in 2 weeks:)

I'm in the beginning stages of my first IVF cycle. I just wanted to say that your stories have uplifted me today. I have trouble staying positive -- I keep thinking that there are so many people IFV/ICSI doesn't work for, why should I be so lucky? I think that maybe my way of thinking is some kind of defense mechanism or something so that if it doesn't work I won't take it so hard.
TTC since Fall 2006.
Me: 31 DH: 31
Diagnosis - unexplained, DH count and morphology a tad below normal, IVF #1 indicated an ovarian reserve issue

Oct - Dec 2009: 3 IUI's with Clomid, all BFN

April 2010 - IVF Long Protocol w/ICSI -- BFN

February 2011 - IVF #2 Microdose Lupron w/ICSI

Yes, a miracle! I finished breastfeeding at 7 months, at eight I got my period and then the same month I got pregnat - it was one time only that month. My babies will be 18 months apart.

I never thought I would get pregnat with IVF. I never expected to get pregnat naturally - but it did and it can be you too!
