Longhaul let us know how it is! I might go to a December one. How are you doing otherwise?
It was good..A lot of it I knew already but the reminder was good. There were only two of us there, so that was kind of weird at the beginning but ended up being great as we just freely spoke up and shared various bits of info and our own stories/experiences... sadly, nice to commiserate with someone who understands what you've gone through, felt better when I left.
Just found out yesterday from Helen I have 3 fibroids now but Virro wants to wait to hear back from my sunnybrook dr on how to proceed so not sure just yet. wtf!!
Congrats on your BFP!! Exciting!
TTC since 2011
Started at Mt. Sinai
Had 7 IUIs, all BFN
Low ovarian reserve diagnosis, decided to go to IVF
Retrieval got 5 follicles, with only 2 eggs
Transferred 2 day 3 "perfect" embryos, BFN
Switched to Create
Had first lap surgery done with diagnosis of severe endo, fibroid, polyps
Referred to endo specialist for further surgery
Was recommended to use egg donor for best results
Took 3 donors to finally get going...
5 grade 1 embryos frozen..
April/17 transferred 1 embryo..BFP!!
May 22, 7.5 weeks, no heartbeat anymore, D&C
July/17 had sonogram and then septum removed
August 21 transfer#2
Broke foot 4 days later, BFN
September/17, transfer #3 BFP!!
8.5 weeks, no heartbeat again, another D&C
Concerned about only having 2 embryos left and running out of money,
Switched to Markham, Dr. Virro Feb/18
DX with hydrosalpinx in right tube, cysts again, more fibroids, more endo
May/18 Had more endo removed, both tubes, right ovary removed and everything else cleaned up.
LIT therapy Sept-Nov,
Dec/18 got results I can finally transfer again
4 cancelled cycles for various reasons
August 21/19 transfer #4 BFP!
6 weeks, heartbeat two days later, started to miscarry, no heartbeat, another D&C

ssb - Very normal to not feel anything at the beginning. I had some mild cramping/lower back pain during the 2WW which continued into the early weeks but I also had that in all of my negative cycles too. I had bad nausea in both pregnancies but that didn't start until about 5 1/2 - 6 weeks. Dec 12 will be here before you know it!

ssb - Things are good over here. Will be 27 weeks on Thursday! So, I heard back from Tina the day after my glucose test...I failed. Was so upset. Also, my hemoglobin was low and I had to start on iron supplements. Well I had to go back last Monday to do the 2 hour glucose challenge test. Was on pins and needles all week waiting for her to call me back but I never got a call. I sure hope this means that I an in the clear. I did not want gestational diabetes! My next appt is next Wednesday...will see Dr V for my regular appt. How are you doing?? Has it sunk in yet?

Ssb - hope you are feeling well!
Had another appt with Dr. Wais today so my husband could meet her and we decided to transfer to her and MFC officially.
Starting stim cycle my first cycle in the new year.
Also met with the generic counselor and my husband was convinced before that we wouldn't do the testing but she had such great info and explained it so well that he's leaning more towards us getting the testing done! Still on the fence a little but I also don't want to waste time either so will probably do it.
Something else Dr. Wais brought up today that I don't know what I'll do is ICSI vs IVF, she suggested doing half the eggs with IVF and half iCSI but I have no clue what do to! I haven't read much about iCSI yet and she said higher chance of birth defects but better implantation rates or something if I'm remembering right.
What did you guys do??

I am new to this forum but not to ivf.Just a short description of my journey.I had gone through 3 ivf procedures with no positive results.I went through 3time laparoscopy and hysteroscopy because of my ovarian cysts and endometriosis.I and my DH went to see dr Virro in 2016 that time I was 43 with big ovarian cysts. We found him very honest and knowledgeable doctor ...no doubt about it.Even he told me he wished I would have come to him little bit in early age .He advised me to go with donor egg but that time I was very stubborn just dont want to listen anything even my DH agreed with him.I want to give myself last chance but regret my decision... as that cycle was covered by OHIP.I first went to major surgery with the referral of dr V but bad luck of mine it didnt worked, was very upset and emotionally broke down. Now as I have faced the truth wanted to go donor route.
I wish would have done with dr V but cant afford here....
So ladies I need your help any of you went to Europe or India for the procedure and how was your experience.

vmt - Glad to hear that you took the plunge and transferred to Markham. Here is my official welcome! I think doing the genetic testing makes sense since it saves heartache as abnormal embryos wouldn't be transferred...and definitely saves time. If you husband has good sperm tests than I think doing half IVF and half ICSI is a good approach. If I was given this option, i would do it. unfortunately, we have a severe male factor so we could only use ICSI every time. Good luck with your cycle in January!
Ssb - Isn't your ultrasound tomorrow? Good luck and update us afterwards!
red rose - I will PM you.

canadianhockeygal - So happy to see you on the Markham board! Wow...DD is 19 months. Where does the time go! I can't share any more insights re: immune treatment but I do want to say that you won't regret meeting with Dr Virro or transferring into his care. he works with the hardest of cases and over the years, I have met many women at the clinic that Markham was their last stop before accepting a child free life, and many were indeed successful in the end. You will like him...he is straight up, but open to your thoughts and opinions, and he's creative in his approach. I feel like every new cycle with him, he pulled something else out of his arsenal to try and get better results. I wish you all the best! Will be praying for you!
ssb - Yahoo! I've been creeping you on the Nov FET thread. I see that your beta is tomorrow. Good luck! But I know it will be just fine! xoxo
Thanks Cris! :-). Time flies!!! Sorry for the delayed response between the demands of work/volunteer obligations and the back & forth witha very poor clinic takeover of VFC by PCRM it's been hectic.
Happy to share that PCRM let us transfer back to VFC...which is wonderful for at least the first part of our cycle as they're so lovely and easy to work with. We've definitely decided that if we can't secure our immune protocol because of the clinic changes that we will book a consult with Markham and subsequently transfer our embryos over there. We're just happy to have the ball rolling and a reasonable action plan again.
Congrats to all those positive betas! Hoping for good 7wk us results, :-)

Vmt04 - official welcome to MFC. Im sure you will find the care well. So regarding your question about ICSI I will share my perspective based on my experience. Both hubby and I had no issues we were under unexplained fertility. We did 30% ICSI on eggs retrieved and the rest normal. None of the ICSI ones made it to 5 day blastocysts and I had read up a lot on damage to eggs / embryos due to ICSI so regretted that decision. Then we went on to do PGS testing which I highly recommend as I had textbook perfect embryos and was soooo hopefully but only ONE was normal after genetic testing and its now inside me by which Im pregnant. Although I was very down about my chances Im now so happy as I feel more confident and hopeful that the ONE embryo was tested and was normal and will stick Im 7.5 weeks today! Thats just my opinion. Do your research and do what you and hubby are comfortable with.
Redrose - welcome to the forum you will find it very supportive. Im sorry to hear about your long journey and pray you have success soon. Sorry no idea about other countries or their protocol. Have you considered acupuncture?
CdnHockeyGal - glad to know the ball is rolling for you. Let us know if you proceed with MFC and which doctor gets assigned to you. They are all incredible I find!
AFM - had my first ultrasound. We saw the baby flicker which was the heart beat and I got so emotional and DH was smiles ear to ear. Things are looking good and fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy. Due date in July 2019 right in the middle or hubby and mine birthday!

Hey Longhaul! I've never had a hysteroscopy, but have had plenty of endometrial biopsy's and (at least in my opinion), they're no big deal. You're basically put in stirrups, have a speculum inserted, and then the Dr inserts a thin tube/stick through your cervix to lightly scratch your uterus. It's a bit uncomfortable, but I honestly can't remember the 'yuk' feeling lasting more than an hour or so. And I believe that there is a bit of spotting, but nothing that would prevent you from wanting to get on with your day.
Good luck next month - I'll be meeting Dr. Wais for the first time next month too (as Dr. Virro is on vacation for 2 months) - I've heard great things!

Ssb-I have never done acupuncture but heard good things about it.To relieve my stress sometimes I do yoga or love to walk in summer.Congratulation for your BFP ....nice Christmas gift for you.
Longhaul-I did hysteroscopy with dr Virro in the month of May .My only worry was after getting up from anesthesia I always have bad nausea, but dr V has past my previous medical history to anesthetic dr so things went very smoothly for the very first time.Surgery last for 30-45 min depends on finding.Hysteroscopy give an idea of how overall the uterus look like and remove fibroid, polyps if it exists. For me I had very tiny fibroid which he removed and was happy to see the overall look of uterus which was not much clear in saline ultrasound. After discharge nurse told me if you have pain or cramps you can take over the counter Tylenol but I was totally okay afterwards.I remember when I got up for changing my clothes that time only lot of bleeding, felt sorry as messed up floor.Nurse told me not to worry it’s just a leftover blood from surgery. So make sure take extra clothing with you.Aftercoming home only bit of spotting !!,,It’s a day surgery so things went very smoothly overall.
Crisbelieve-Hope your appointment went well with dr Virro.
elephantshoes-congratulations for your BFP .

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and I am going to MFC with Dr. Garcia. Just had 1 FET on Dec 16th but result came back as BFN =( yesterday.
This is my first time doing IVF and first transfer. I hope to learn tips from your ladies what I should do or should not do when I do the next transfer? bed rest? start walking right after transfer?
Thanks and Good Luck to all of us.
TTC for 1.5 years
First IVF at 38, 9 eggs retrieved, 7 matured, 7 fertilized, 5 went to genetic testing at day 5, 3 came back normal (4AA, 3AA, 5BA)

Lap #1 in 2005 (mild endo), Lap #2 in 2013 (confirmed no regrowth)
6 IUIs 2013-2014 @ RCC
IVF #1 (March 2018) - 4 eggs retrieved, 1 blast - 3BC (not tested), fresh transfer, BFN
Changed clinics - now @ MFC / Dr Virro - referred for immune testing, Dr wants to first get 2-3 PGS normal embryos before doing immune testing
May 2018-May 2019: 6 more IVF cycles.. 12 embryos, 3 PGS normal (5AB, 3AB, 4BC), 1 mosaic (4BB), 1 too small to test (3BC), 7 abnormal

Congratulations on your BFP!!
What is immune treatment?
I did genetic testing for all blastocyst and had 4AA, 3AA, and 5BA embryo. Dr. Garcia have confidence that it will work as I did the testing and transferring the best grade this time.
I am not sure if I did anything wrong? I took it easy the first 2 days, just had shopping (walking) in the mall on the day of and the day after. Then I went back to work like normal. Just had regular walk during the break.
I am not sure if my messy period these 3 months had something to do with it. I had my polyp removed in late August, then my cycle is 42 days in October and 37 days in November. I had to cancel the transfer and used medicated FET once I got my period in late November.
I am getting worried if it happens again next time and I am scared that I am too old to carry a baby. (Just turn 39)
